  1. Assistant Schuetzenmeister has a nice day ring to it.
  2. Michael can you sign up for IDPA at the range Saturday and shoot The MC Cup on Nov. 5th if your paperwork isn't back yet?
  3. The classifier is fun to shoot and is a great benchmark of skills. Great match for first time shooters and juniors to come out and see what it is all about. No movers or no-shoots to deal with. Shoot at the same three targets for all three stages. Draw and fire, strong hand--weak hand on the first stage. Advancing and retreating fire, slide lock reload and more strong hand in stage two. Shooting behind a barricade, "Tactical reload", and low cover on stage three. 90 shots total. I encourage anyone who has been thinking about trying IDPA shooting come on out.
  4. Since the range is closed during the week, Robert tries to finish by Noon.
  5. One month away. Shaping up to be match to remember.
  6. I'm sure I am thinking about it too much. I thought it was a mistake to shoot and move up to SS but Hognut said don't worry about it.
  7. Michael said he would shoot no misses last time. Just trying to keep up. LOL Last one at Gallatin with my M&P in ESP I shot 126.41. So I was only 6.41 off shooting expert if it had been SSP. I don't want to move up before the big match. It really doesn't matter I guess. Just let-er rip and see what happens. Maybe shoot it twice(ssp, esp)at this classifier. Both classes with my M&P.
  8. No. No three gun for me....... Yet. Thinking about it. I am going to try and shoot a really good classifier. No misses.
  9. Robert, cut some stakes to length again. I'll try to get the targets height right.
  10. We were on the phone and I hear Michael explaining what he is doing there.LOL!!!
  11. Be safe. Listen to the SO's. Have fun! My first match I learned I didn't even know how to put the pistol back in the holster. Best advice I got was, "Go slow, be smooth and hit your targets. Your speed will pick up on it's own." Read at the IDPA website about the commands you will hear and the rules.
  12. Check out our website at Music City Tactical Shooters There is some good info there. PM me and I can help you get started. There is a regular IDPA match 10/15 at our range in Dickson. Come out and be prepared to shoot. There is no watching allowed(just kidding). Like the OP said is true at our range also, be safe and have fun everyone there will help you. It is a great experience. And to the OP, every time you say "in the real world" a kitten is killed.
  13. My first match was the TGO beginners match last February. I was hooked. Joined IDPA and my local club. Trying to learn enough to really get in to running the matches. My first SO said you will go dumb when the timer beeps so don't worry about going fast just get your hits. Let the speed come on it's own.
  14. Another Hendersonvillian(sp?) Welcome to the board.
  15. "3000 kids and teens killed by guns." I wonder how many were gang/drug related.
  16. Wow! Let one little thing slip at lunch and he is on you.
  17. No reason not to come out and shoot. Weather is going to be nice, and a great course of fire. If you liked the zombie match you are welcome to do all head-shots again. Or at least challenge your buddy to head-shots only. Of course then the buzzer goes and all bets are off.
  18. I know where there is an Enfield in need of rescue. I may have to go buy it.
