  1. This. Exactly this.
  2. We have GOT to get him together with the "CONTACT!!!11!!!!1!" guys!
  3. COOP, I know guys who swear by both and refuse any argument made by the other side. I've heard pros of HP bullets being that the weight is shifted to the rear of the bullet causing better performance, but then again I've heard of cons to HP bullets as well. I think that a quality bullet will be a good performer regardless of the style. Almost every bullet I've fired out of my pistols has been more accurate than I am. I tend to just stick with whatever is most affordable. With that said, the only bullet I've ever seen that absolutely would not go where it was supposed to in 9mm was an Aguila HP (factory ammo - not my own loads). Those things were insanely terrible (at least the ones I had were). I swear they were capable of 6 foot groups at 25 yards. Hence my suggestion of quality bullets.
  4. Glad to have you with us!
  5. It amazes me how often I have that exact same comment on this forum!
  6. I think it's going to be an officer-by-officer basis. Some of the guys I work with will ask to search cars 8 or 10 times a day. Other guys, like myself, won't ask for permission to search a car unless there's something obviously "up" with it. And usually by that point, I have PC to search the car and am going to do it anyway. I just want to guage your reaction to the request. I might search one car a month. Gopher6 might have run across one of the officers who makes a habit of asking to search cars. However, if the officer implied that refusing to allow a search would mean impoundment when the officer had no PC, I'd take great issue with such actions.
  7. Ummm... Wow.
  8. White Castle is a must anytime I'm in Nashville or Missouri. I don't know why the h*ll they won't open one here!!
  9. Can I get an "amen"?
  10. Looks good, Jack. I assume that when you removed the old fence, you used some of your de-fence-ive tactics???
  11. Are there stands up in the WMAs, or do you take your own, or what?
  12. That's it. My next wedding will be posted...
  13. I'm not sure about your neck of the woods, but the Shelby Co S.O. reserves go through a full academy that has the exact same curriculum as the full timers. The only difference is that, instead of going Monday through Friday, they go Tues & Thurs from 6p-10p and all day Saturday for about 6 months. It ends up being somewhere around 500 hours by the time they're finished. The state doesn't require that much training for reserve or part time LE, but that's SCSO policy. IIRC, the state only requires 80 hours of training for reserve / part-time.
  14. I worked part time at RUSA for a short while. Unfortunately, I couldn't work enough hours due to my wife changing jobs at the same time I got hired. It's a great group of folks doing their very best to make customers happy. That I can guarantee comes before anything else. When I worked there, we were told to make sure anyone who placed a firearm in consignment know that it would probably take every bit of the 30 days to get a check after the firearm has sold. It doesn't help that the phone rings 30 times a day from people wanting to know where their check is within the 30 days. That is why we tried so hard to make it clear that there would be a delay. If you were told different things by different employees, I'm not sure what to tell you, other than it's unfortunate and not the common way of them dealing with customers. Another issue that I have no doubt is involved with your delay - Scott just lost his head manager and his assistant. Nothing bad, both just decided to move on within a week of each other (his assistant is moving out of state to be with friends/family again). These two individuals were responsible for about 75% of all of the paperwork that had to be done. Scott is probably swimming in an ocean of paperwork that needs to be completed. I know this explanation probably won't satisfy you, but if I was a betting man, I'd say that is why your check has been so long coming. I understand your complaint and where you're coming from, but when there are so many sh*tty ranges / gun shops around, I want to make sure I try and take up for the good ones. And Range USA is one of the best. Hopefully, when things smooth back out around there, they'll be able to win your business back sometime in the future. Same here. I'd love a good spot to shoot my rifles!
  15. What he said!
  16. Welcome!
  17. Dang these things are going up in price. Mine was $69 a couple of years ago...
  18. "Class will last approximately 3 hours or until you're ready to go on your fist mission" I didn't realize ninja training could be accomplished in such a timely manner!
  19. Welcome!
  20. Sure looks good. Let us know how she runs!
  21. Looks good. And I'm with you - I'm always way under on my estimations of how much gravel I need for an area...
  22. Interesting. Thanks for the explanation!
  23. What exactly are "set triggers"? That trigger setup confused me when I was looking at the OP's pictures of his sporterized Lebel.
  24. How'd you screw up the one?
