What are you plans for Christmas? Doing anything special?
kb4ns replied to mav's topic in General Chat
My wife and I are both working Christmas, so we did the immediate family thing tonight, Santa will come while the kid is asleep tonight, and then we'll do dinner with my parents tomorrow. Nothing fancy, just good times. -
Yep. Look at who was elected last time. No way would Americans put someone in office who has actually read and understands the constitution.

I appreciate the replies, guys. I think I'll go with the K9 program as it has some good reviews. I wish there was a smarter program since she likes going to youtube and watching some videos, but I think that youtube is gonna be one of those sites she's only allowed to visit if she's sitting there with my wife or me.

Well, I'm in uncharted territory. Thanks to the affordability and availability of old off-lease computers, my 5 year old will be receiving her very own computer this year. I know plenty about computers, but know nothing about parental control software. She loves getting on computers to play games and watch videos and I know that (at this point in her life, anyway) she won't be intentionally looking for anything inappropriate. But we all know how stuff on the internet can find its way to you. Does anyone have any suggestions on parental control software? Preferably free...

That's wild.

Yep, I figured they had taste buds, too.

What a great idea. I just sent a little their way and plan to do so each holiday season from now on. -
That's great! Congrats to you both!

Well, hard to tell from the angle of the pic, but it appears the first obvious violation would be: 55-9-212(a) No person shall operate upon a public highway or street any motor vehicle... if the motor vehicle or combination of vehicles is not equipped with rear fenders, mudflaps or mudguards of such size as to substantially prevent the projection of rocks, dirt, water or other substances to the rear...

Nope. The sort facility is just a sort facility. Not even open to the public. Yep!

I bought my wife one for Xmas, so I'm not sure how she's gonna like it. The reviews for the Kindle Fire were mostly good. I also considered the Nook Color, but the reviews were all over the place. Seems there's a lot of unhappy buyers of the Nook.

38199 is the big sort facility in Memphis.

OhShoot & Erik, The FAQ page on Terro's website says the liquid version is safe for use around pets. Ant Problem? Terro = Ant Control Solutions

It's all fun and games until Bambi pops up outta nowhere. I've seen what a deer can do to a car anywhere from 30 mph up to 70. I wouldn't want to see what would happen faster than 70. Suffice to say, I bet it'd end the same way for the stunt driver as it does for Bambi. Also, deer don't care if your tires are bald or your suspension is stock. One example of many things that can happen to super duper drivers.

But, there's the other side of that coin. If you take a city/town where there are officers all over town with in-car moving radar and they're activating their radars all over said town while patrolling around, you're going to end up with false alerts all over the place. I think that would, in turn, make people turn off the networking capability on their radar detectors. When the detector is constantly alerting you and there's nothing there, you're going to get tired of it. May not be that big of a deal in places like Memphis where very few officers run radar and none have moving radars, but you won't be able to hit the city limits of Millington, Bartlett, Collierville, or Germantown without it going off non-stop.

The Valentine is a good one, but again, it depends on how the officer is utilizing his equipment. The guy who received the award in the below photo Saturday had one of them Valentine detectors. Dang near threw himself out of the windshield hitting the brakes when I clocked him. I'd sat there without clocking a thing for about 10 minutes when I saw him coming.

Just saw this on the news. Realized I know his step-mom (a Shelby Co Deputy). Sad to hear, but very glad he's alive. He'll remain in my thoughts. If you hear of anything they're going to do for him, please let us know.

That's really neat!

A lot of the Priority Mail is handled by FedEx. They have a contract with the USPS.

Wow. That's funny. Hope you get your package soon.

Yeah, you could try Craigslist. But there are so many variables in selecting a bow, not the least of which is personal preference. The chances of finding him the perfect bow without him involved in the process is slim. Is there a local archery shop that you could get him a gift card to for Christmas? That'd be my recommendation.

I played along for a while. It was neat, but I'd say that only about 2% are ever entered again. I still get emails every now and then that one of my bills has been "found." Kinda neat seeing where a piece of currency can go.

I love doing shop with a cop. Got it coming up this Thursday. It's definitely one of the best things about the Christmas season! Also the only thing I've done that's worth going to WalMart between Thanksgiving and Xmas for!
