  1. Seems to me that a HCP would be considered a valid form of identification.
  2. Hmmm. I, too, was less than impressed with the Kroger White Castle burgers. Guess I know what I'll be picking up on my next trip to Sam's...
  3. Mine too. Hell, if you can't use a HCP, why can you use a driver's license? Shouldn't we all be required to go and obtain a TN "Identification Only" card?
  4. WTF??
  5. +1
  6. So did letereat miss the point of the thread? I can't tell...
  7. Apparently, someone who is just seconds from being knocked unconscious.

    Walmart Savage 308?

+1. Usually, you get what you pay for. In your case, you'll get a bit more! It's a no-frills rifle, but it'll do the job well.
  9. Another good point, Lester! I was taught that under-powering your loads was always as dangerous (sometimes more dangerous) as over-powering them.
  10. Funny stuff right there!
  11. I've generally found the starting loads in the Lee manual to be quite conservative. If it was me, I'd feel comfortable starting at Lee's starting load.
  12. Just pay that one. It's not a moving violation (viewed as an "equipment violation"). Shouldn't make your insurance go up and there's no points on it. Unless you just have a good excuse and want to see if the judge will dismiss it, I'd just pay it and be done with it.
  13. Please see the jpeg in post #16. Thank you, that is all.
  14. Glad you're enjoying your trip! <Insert gay joke about San Francisco here>
  15. I'll give you one thing - it'd depend a lot on their presentation. Personally, I'm picturing the last plumber I called as well as the last appliance guy I had to call. I wouldn't mind them having their protection a bit. This is Memphis. I'd rather them have it on them versus locked in their van on the street for some nutjob to come by and break in and steal it. But, on the other hand, if they look like they just got out on work release, I might agree with your line of thinking. I'm always on guard (or at least I strive to be). I treat the guy with the openly carried gun the same as the guy that appears to be unarmed. I don't know what any one person may have on them. I have no idea what anyone's intentions are. But I keep my eyes open. What about if you opened your own business? Would you post it "no firearms"? What if your immediate family worked there? Your hard money went into the business and you own it, so it's like your castle. Would you be more trusting there? If so, why?
  16. Yep. I really wish I would have gotten my daughter one before she turned 3. I kept thinking about it, but forgetting to do it. If she decides to be a sportswoman, she'd get my money's worth at the current $540 rate, but $540 is too much of a gamble in case she's not. Now $200 wouldn't have been!
  17. Um, wow. I now see how some businesses end up posted. I could care less if the plumber I called is carrying. In fact, I'm probably gonna be happy he is. We need all the heat-packin', law-abiding citizens we can get. In the extremely unlikely event that the repairman I called decides to draw a gun on me, I reckon I'll have to deal with it, but I definitely don't forsee it happening. Maybe I'm just asking for trouble. Maybe I oughta hide the knives when the repairman comes, too. Oh, and the lighters and aerosol cans...
  18. I used to be that way, up until I saw what someone's head in the back seat can do to someone's head in the front seat. Please, please, please wear it in the back seat too. My old way of thinking about being a second row passenger (that you'd be "stopped" by the front seats) was blown completely out of the water.
  19. Sorry - missed this thread yesterday somehow. The medics won't touch it. They call for one of us to come over and get it. Usually, if you are out of it, we'll take the gun and put it in the property room. We leave a property receipt with your belongings that go to the hospital with you. When you're mo better, you can come and pick it up. If there is a close family member (parent, spouse, etc.) on the scene, sometimes we'll leave it with them (unloaded for legal transport if they don't have a HCP). As far as pics, I really wish I could post some here that I've worked, but it's against my department's policy. Crashes are about all I do and I've got pics of some whoppers. Mike - buckle up! The airbags suck, but not nearly as bad when you're restrained!
  20. There's a winner?
  21. I bet kids would act better in school if they'd return to applying the paddle directly to the hind end. It kept me "actin' right" in school...
  22. Group buy?
  23. Some courts may be different than others, but for the most part, it's left to the judge's discretion. The judge I stand in front of each month usually hits people with fine & costs or nothing at all. Occasionally, if he feels like someone's guilt is proven, but feels like they should be afforded some consideration, he'll dismiss it at cost (meaning no fine - charge is dismissed but they still have to pay court costs). An example from my last court date - a guy was a school counselor and got popped by an officer for going a good bit over the limit. He was on his way to the hospital to assist a student who was in the emergency room. Is this a valid reason to be speeding? No, but the judge wanted to afford some consideration and dismissed the guy's speeding charge (think it was 17 over IIRC) but made him pay costs. There are some courts around here that dismiss almost every ticket regardless of guilt, but charge almost everyone court costs. It's a crap shoot...
  24. Another +1 for discounttiredirect.com. I bought from them within the past year and they were great. Priced very well, shipped quick.
