    An Alf Pog?

From strickj's post http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/trading-post-notices-faqs/46817-list-members-removed-tennessee-gun-owners-failure-complete-trading-post-transactions.html#post611640 What in the h*ll is an "Alf Pog"?
  9. The POST certification wouldn't do him any good. They'd make him go through the THP academy anyway. I don't know about him, but if I can go the rest of my life without experiencing another academy, I'll be happy. One of the main reasons I didn't give THP much thought when I wanted to change agencies.
  10. Welcome to the forum!
  11. Well dang. I was gonna go with "c", but Bronker put a period behind the "b". Now we're stuck.
  12. Yay for him! Can't help you find him a job unless you wanna send him down to this end of the state , but I'm sure he'll find one soon enough!! Buy him a beer for me!
  13. Thanks whiskey. I'm thinking about burning some vacation time when I get those permissions. If not, I'll be heading for a WMA here soon. Luckily, I work on a rotating schedule, so I often end up with weekdays off. That'll make it better for the public areas if I end up at one of 'em. I've got some family land in Mississippi, but I don't quite have the necessary cash to get a non-resident license down there. :-\ Yessir! Good luck getting that bow. Just make sure you get some good practice in. If I was looking for a bow this late in the game, I'd probably be keeping my eyes open for a good crossbow. They're a lot easier to get good with fast!
  14. I keep seeing the photos on here and other forums of everyone's harvest. I've got the bow ready to go, and I'm more than ready to go hunting, but I'm waiting on official word (permission) for a couple of spots I plan to hunt. Between that and work, it is killing me! Anybody else dying to get out in the woods and hasn't made it yet for one reson or another? I just want to know I'm not alone!!
  15. Welcome to TGO, Kevin!
  16. Welcome to TGO!
  17. Very nice! Congrats!
  18. Ok, thanks MM. You'd think that she at least have the basic info on the processing. Kinda long trip just to ask about hours and prices. :-\
  19. Congrats!
  20. You can search the Metro ordinances here: Municode - Search If they're anything like Memphis, a fire contained in a pit is ok, AFAIK. My wife wanted a fire pit and I searched for hours and couldn't find anything prohibiting it in Memphis.
  21. I can't help you as far as suggesting places around Nashville. The local shop I prefer in Memphis charges around $65 to adjust the bow to you and get everything tuned up. If you're a new archer, that price also includes getting you on target - they go out on the range with you and help you adjust your sights and help with your form. I'd recommend getting at least your first set of arrows at your local shop so that they cut them the right length. My local shop has good enough prices that I will usually buy arrows and anything else I need from him instead of ordering from online sources (which is wierd for me - I'm used to buying everything much cheaper online!).
  22. Your name is George and you live in Alabama?
  23. This whole thing seems strange to me. Who issues a misdemeanor citation for a class A misdemeanor to someone from Colorado? My department and every department I know of considers that a "reasonable likelihood that the arrested person will fail to appear in court", thus requiring a physical arrest & transportation so the person can post a bond. Of course, THP does things differently. Anyone good buddies with a trooper that can ask about that? As far as the tint thing, yes we have tint meters and yes you can get an exemption from the state if you and your doctor complete the appropriate forms and send them to the Dept. of Safety. I'm not 100% sure what the process is, but I've seen that once or twice. I've run across a couple of folks with just a doctor's note and I've let 'em go with a warning, but you have to have the official "exemption" to be legal.
  24. FWIW, I have the fiberoptic service from ATT (Uverse) that they recently introduced to the Memphis area. The speed is great (get much more than I'm paying for). I've had it for about a year now and have never had an outage. I also have the TV package with them. The picture quality is great. The couple of times I've talked to customer service people, I've been more than satisfied. Comcast, on the other hand, always delivered speeds that were well below what I was paying for, went down quite often, and the digital TV picture was mediocre at best. Don't even get me started on their "customer service". I was more than thrilled to cut the cord to them! Sadly, I have to deal with their crappy internet on the computers in my office and for the server that our work PDAs run off of, but at least I know I'll have good service when I get home!
