  1. I can't help you as far as a doc in the Nashville area, but if any TGO members in the Memphis area are looking for one, they can PM me and I can give a good recommendation.
  2. Whether you agree with the reasons or not, and regardless of whether the risks are quantifiable or not, it is what it is. I've never been shot, but I put body armor on each day when I go to work. I've never been in a bad crash, but I wear my seatbelt. Are those examples quantifiable? Yes. Irrelevant? No. Because it only takes a couple seconds to do and negates a risk, no matter how large or small. Seems to me that the question has been asked and answered.
  3. Darwin at work again. :-\ What does that mean?
  4. Funny you mention that. I was using some Berry's Mfg. brass polish yesterday for the first time and remarked to my wife how much the smell reminded me of liquid car polish. Flitz is awesome. I've used some other polish that worked nearly as well as Flitz, but I've never used anything better. I've noticed that Flitz can actually cut the amount of time you need to tumble as well. I've had some 9mm brass come out sparkling like new after about an hour in the tumbler.
  5. Well, not bad for the price. Bore looks decent. Some light pitting in the barrel, but it looks like it'll be an ok shooter. It's a byf 43 (Mauser manufacture).
  6. Welcome to TGO!
  7. Welcome to the forum and to Tennessee! I think you'll like it here.
  8. Wow, that's pretty wild. I'd love to go out with my fishing pole one day and stock the freezer to the brim.
  9. Welcome!
  10. Well I bit the bullet and just ordered one. I'll let you guys know what I think of it when it arrives.
  11. I agree. I have owned a couple of 1911's that did the same and I never had a problem with reloading the cases. It's just from the brass hitting the slide while it's being ejected.
  12. Bump - has anyone bought one yet?
  13. Welcome!
  14. I'm confused, too...
  15. Welcome to TGO!
  16. Yep. Thanks. I fixed it. Sorry, been a long day.
  17. Pretty much how I roll as well. There is another option that I play with some as well - plated bullets like Berrys and Rainier. They're cheaper than FMJ, but you get to avoid the leading. I've bought bullets from a ton of places. My most often used supplier these days is http://www.precisiondelta.com for FMJ's. Yep. It's a bit dirty, but it's (IMHO) hands down the best powder for a new reloader. Welcome to the wonderful world of reloading. I think I actually enjoy it more than shooting!
  18. What the others said. Would you ever need lube on straight walled pistol cartridges using carbide dies? (Hope not - I've been doin' something wrong for a long time now if so )
  19. I've bought three. About to order 2 more. I'm with Daniel - don't try to cut it down. You'll sacrifice a lot of comfort and it's not worth it IMO.
  20. It shows he's "On Vacation" and this thread is over a year old.
  21. It's about time. Football I wouldn't mind watching!
  22. The Parker Bushwhacker is worth a look as well from what I've heard. Usually runs around $300 ($350 with an optic). Or you could get a real bow. Just kidding man. I've been thinking about picking up a good crossbow myself.
  23. If you know that to be the case, you might want to start making some phone calls. T.C.A. 55-8-110(a)(8)
  24. I'm with Mike. I'll usually run 'em through the resizing die and go from there. That takes care of most of them.
