  1. Welcome!
  2. Welcome to the forum, Bill!
  3. No, it was a fixed blade.
  4. You and me both! It seems like the "deals" are becoming fewer and farther between in the last couple of years. I sent them an email a couple years ago when I first noticed their restrictions on BP guns and got the standard response I expected and received on the phone today about the knives. :-\
  5. Wow, Titan. You're doing much better than I am. I average about 2k before I need to replace. That's with corncob media. Are you using corncob or walnut?
  6. Another thing I'll throw in here. If you have a C&R gun that you modify (i.e. replace stock with a synthetic one) and it loses its C&R status, you HAVE TO LOG IT OUT of your bound book. I was curious about that a couple of years back and wrote the ATF Firearms Technology Branch for clarification. If anyone is really curious, PM me and I can dig the letter out and scan it.

    Welcome to the forum, Clay!
  8. Welcome!
  9. If you eat a Chinese car, are you hungry again in an hour?
  10. Some of you may recall a thread here a while back about the Sportsman's Guide refusing to ship black powder guns to TN as they claimed it violated some state law (that nobody can find). Well they're at it again! I went to place an order today for a buddy and myself so we could reach the $100 mark and use the free shipping coupon. One of the items in the order was a knife my buddy wanted. As I hit "submit order", I got a notification that the order was not successful as they do not allow the knife to be shipped to my zip code. I went back to the item description and noticed in the "warnings" area that it said: Yep. We're mentioned right in the middle of all those commie states once again. While browsing the site, I've noticed that not all knives have this restriction, but many do. I spent about 10 minutes on the phone with various employees at SPG and the only real answer I got for it was "our legal department sets those restrictions and we have to follow them." I've had a buyer's club membership for years, but I don't think I'll be renewing it again. Plus, it seems like everytime I've found something I like that they have for sale, a quick googling results in lower priced merchants elsewhere.
  11. I think, if it was me, I'd find the page, print it, and hold it very quietly...

    Bow buck

    Nice!
  14. The question is "Why?" The answer is "Why Not?" /debate
  15. Patches ain't my cup of tea, but I'm definitely down for some decals and a hat!
  16. I'm far from an expert on them and don't know what exactly makes some worth LOTS of money. I do know that the wartime (Nazi Proofed) models that are all matching fetch a good price compared to other models. The post-war models (like Samco's and the one in your shop) and non-matching Nazi models (like SOG's) seem to go for anywhere from $400 to $450 from what I've seen. Maybe an expert will pop in and give us some more guidance.
  17. Would you consider adopting me? I'm a little big and old, but I think I can fit in... Congrats on getting the C&R!
  18. Welcome to TGO!
  19. Welcome!
  20. I'll refer you to the bold area of my first post where I clearly explained what you just asked. Again, the reasons for blurring a serial number have been given. Asking again doesn't change any answers. Wasn't it Einstein who said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
  21. They're currently reduced to $389. If that's not incentive for someone to get a C&R, I dunno what is!

    Ran outta gas

^This is me. My wife, on the other hand, waits for the infamous low fuel light. Drives me crazy. Thanks to the display showing approx. how many miles she can go, she'll drive around for another 35 to 40 miles after the light comes on.
