  1. The platinum model is awesome. It has built-in XM satellite capabilities so you can stay connected to Jack's gospel even if you are out of range of the terrestrial broadcast stations.
  2. That's what I'm thinking. Doesn't look like any ham rig I've ever seen.

  4. I did have the pleasure of dealing with the sporting goods manager of the Bartlett Wal-Mart before she transferred to the Oakland store. She was bright and friendly. If I was looking for a particular type of ammo, I could call in the morning and, if she had any, she'd stash it away until I could get up there to pick it up. Of course, since she transferred, I'm back to dealing with morons.
  5. Awesome!!
  6. J&G Sales I second Mike's motion. They are good folks to deal with.
  7. Not that I recall, but I'm no bible scholar.
  8. It wouldn't surprise me if I could only take what I paid in since I didn't stay until retirement. I didn't donate much (I went to work there when I was 21, so retirement wasn't a big concern), so I've though about cashing it out and applying it towards bills, but I'm afraid that by the time I pay all the fees and taxes to cash it out, there wouldn't be much left.
  9. Thanks. I'll check with the company doing my current 401k and get the forms. My biggest thing was not wanting to lose money. Not that it's a fortune or anything, but still. Half of it was contributed by the employer. Can that go with me? Or do I lose it?

    Hot Stuff!

Maybe we should start a new thread titled "Stories from the purple church"...
  12. With the economy the way it has been, my old 401k was losing value most quarters. Finally turning around a bit now. I'm looking at the last statement and don't see much in the way of fees. It shows an increase of $11.44 in value and -$2.64 in expenses, and a ROR of 1.77%.

There is an "assault" joke in that, but I digress...
  14. I've noticed a significant increase in the number of neck tattoos in every trailer park in Shelby County...

    Hot Stuff!

Yeah, just caught up on that thread. However, I spent most of my time there picturing Mike.357 drafting on his lawn tractor...
  16. I can convert my toaster into a fully functioning AR-15, too. I just have to replace the body with a complete lower receiver and replace the little handle and knob with an upper receiver, barrel, and a few more parts...
  17. I know we've got some financially smart folks here, so help me out guys / gals. I have an old 401k from when I worked for the state (University of Memphis Police) years ago. I've been getting the statements quarterly and every time I get one, I think to myself "I should probably roll that over into my current 401k or something". I just don't know what to do with it (or how). I just don't want to do something that'll make me lose any of its value. I didn't work there for more than a year and a half or so, so it's not very much (less than $700). What should I do with it?

This is Jack we're talking about. I'm really surprised a nun and a baby (or even a baby nun) were not involved in this scenario.
  19. It would fall under Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (TCA 39-17-1307). I'd say that as long as it's not "within reach" in the vehicle, you're probably fine. Comes down to the "intent to go armed" thing. From TCA: 39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon. — (a) (1) A person commits an offense who carries with the intent to go armed a firearm, a knife with a blade length exceeding four inches (4²), or a club. Have you looked into the Cold Steel shovel? It's like a much better made version of the Russin military shovel and looks pretty evil. Go search youtube for some videos of one. You'll probably be as surprised as I was. I plan to pick one up sooner or later.
  20. :bowrofl: I wish TN would adopt a knife law like Florida's, too. It's insane that you can legally carry, and be trusted with, a gun, but heaven forbid your knife quickly attain the same configuration as the 4" fixed blade next to it.
  21. Both! Smart@ss
  22. Not anymore. My wife changed jobs and I had to cut my hours back too drastically. Had to just throw in the towel. As far as the meet, I'll have to check my schedule and let ya know.
  23. Well... One thing is for certain. They wouldn't do it again!
