    Yeah. I called the power company and they said that they come out and kill the power at the pole. Then they reconnect it after a contractor replaces the board.

    I appreciate it, guys. Memphis Light Gas & Water's policy is that they don't handle anything once it hits the service drop outside of the weatherhead (other than the meter itself). I'm not sure whether or not they'd even offer the service of replacing the board. I'll have to ask. I've got a buddy who is rather handy who is gonna swing by later and look at it.

    I have an odd situation. Some of the wood around the top of my house is rotting. Not unusual, I know. But... one of the pieces is where the utilities come into the house and a tension wire is secured. Who do I need to contact about this since I don't like messin' with anything remotely close to power lines? Would a "handyman" be able to replace the wood and take care of detatching / reattaching the tension wire? Do I need an electrician? Or do I have to have the utility company come out? Below is a picture of the area in question. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Just got power back about 20 minutes ago. Argh. Thank goodness for generators - at least my food survived the 4 days powerless.
