I just started reloading 40 s&w a few weeks ago and I had the scare as kb4ns. In fact, I rented a gun at the range so I wouldn't blow mine up.

I was finger printed on April 30 and got my card on 5-20.
My wife was finger printed on 5-6 and received her card 5-20.
Mine took less than 3 weeks and the wife's less than 2 weeks.
The process is getting better.

Thanks all.
With the flooding in Nashville earlier this month I thought it would take longer then 3 weeks.

My wife and I took the HCP class on the weekend of April 24 & 25. I went to the driving testing station to file my paperwork on April 30 and she went on May 6 and we both got our permits in today's mail.
That's less than 3 weeks for me and only 2 weeks for her. So much for the 90 days waiting period.

I have one coming and can't wait to take it to the range.
I found some Federal 9mm at Walmart for < $10 so I'm ready to go.

Hello all,
My name is Dennis and I live in Bartlett which is a suburb of Memphis. I joined this site so I could learn and be educated when I purchased my first pistol soon. I will be taking the safety class at the of March and will decide what gun is the best for me.
My friend took me to a range yesterday and let me use his Kahr .40, Ruger .380 and his Springfield XD. The SF was my favorite but it's too big to be considered for a concealment weapon and I liked the Ruger over the Kahr.
I have been reading about the Bersa PT-138 and the Taurus Millennium Pro 138 and I would like to test fire these guns before "settling" on a particular pistol as my main concealment pistol. I found out today that the firing local range will let people to test before buying so I will take advantage of that in the coming weeks.
I welcome any comments, suggestions or information on the above mentioned pistols. Like I said I new to the gun owners club since I have never owned a pistol and yesterday was my first experience shooting one.
