My wife and I took the class at Bass Pro and loved it. They seem to really care that you know how to shoot and will spend time with those that have problems. I highly recommend the class.

John; I will say you are jumping in with both feet. I have been hunting since I was 12yo and without a doubt turkey hunting is the toughest to master. I have been able to take several nice birds in my time but always with the help of a caller. unlike deer hunting you will not be very successful going in the woods and waiting for one to walk by. You need to be really good with the calls and be able to convince the turkey your a better piece of a** then the hens he is with. and even then they can and will hang up just out of range. I agree whole heartly you need someone to take you and help with the fine tuning of your turkey skills. Wish I could be of more help. Good Luck.

My preferences changes with my dress also. but so does my caliber of gun. If just around the house most of the time I have an IWB with Ruger LCP. If running around I do a IWB for my Colt Defender 1911 but most of the time I do not tuck my shirt in. If dress up with jacket and slacks I switch to a shoulder rig for my 1911 38super. I really like a shoulder holster because the gun is towards the front of my body, I have had situations when in crowded areas that I find myself checking my IWB carry to insure it is still there.

Burn the Pearls................Nice 1911, I have a series 70 never shot that I am thinking very hard about breaking it in. im not much on letting guns sit in the safe.

I always carried anyway, decided to make it legal before I got i trouble. This era we live in is scary. I remember as a child we never locked our doors and the keys stayed in the cars all the time. Now nothing is safe.

I have shot both flavors and I do not see really anything about the XDm that makes it better, just different. Same Here Mike, I love my XD it does not seem to be any different then a XDm I shot.

My Wife and I took the class at Bass Pro in Sevier Co. and loved it. The range people were very nice also. The only down side is the fact that it is a two day class and as stated gas prices do not help travel, However The class is by donation and the cheapest class i have heard of is $75. Good Luck either way but I do recommend them

I am looking to get a nice 22cal to do some plinking with. I know all about the 10/22 and that most prefer it over other 22cal. I have been looking at the Remington 597 VTR and like what I am finding. Does anyone have any experience with this gun and how would you compair it to the 10/22. Thanks BJB
