Although it's legal to open carry in TN, provided you have an HCP of course, I would never do so, with or without a holster. The only time I'd open carry would somewhere where it's not going to draw undue attention; i.e. gun show, range, etc.. I'm probably going to catch some flack over this, but... with the anti-gun agenda being pushed out by the main stream media, there's no need to add fuel to their already raging fires. I'm not referring to "fear" of the MSM or their sheeple, I'm referring to respect to those who aren't comfortable around guns.

You know, I'm a firm believer in capitalism and understand the supply and demand economic model. BUT, there comes a point where the later becomes greed, pure and simple.

Same here, on both counts, welcome!

The Nikon P223 looks like a good scope, at least the reviews are good. I just wish it came with a MilDot reticle. For some odd reason the MilDot scopes are much higher... go figure. Thanks!

I have a Mohawk Armory AR15, flat top, with Magpul MBUS backup sights, like these, but I'm not sure if they're "Generation II". I'm getting accoustomed to the open sights but will be looking for a decent scope very soon. Something that will let me reach out to 200-300 meters. I was looking at the Centerpoint scopes at Walmart, one in particular that had a mildot reticle. When I went back a few days later, they were all gone. That's what I get for waiting. No worries, though, but I'm not in that big of a hurry. The rifle has a collapsible stock, so I think that a consistent check weld becomes an issue when using a set of scope rings that will clear the open sights, allowing me to use them w/o having to remove the scope. Maybe, perhaps, co-witness? I've got a BSA red dot sight on it, that came with the rifle. It's a P-O-S and the scope will eventually replace it. Any ideas or advise would be most appreciated.

To rule out a defective GFCI, you might try replacing it with a known good one from somewhere else in the house. Just kill the associated breakers first Just a thought...

I think that if a GFCI outlet trips a lot, it will cause a premature failure, or at least false positives.

Passed HCP class and range qualification

UPDATE: I spoke with Sonya at TN DoS last Friday. She said my permit was issued on 04 Oct. She printed it and said I should have within 10 days. So from the date my finger prints were taken; 25 Sep, to 04 Oct is 8-business days. That's pretty quick, and I was expecting 4-6 weeks! Those next few days are just going to c-r-e-e-p by, don't you know it! -

and we can do without "Clem". With any luck, I'll be doing my part to continue this "rite of passage" by next weekend , but I'm not springing for the nachos and cheeze... BYONAC

I had understood that if you use a carbide resizing die, case lube was not necessary. Yes, no?

I pray to God you're right

Though I've not given up hope, what appears to be flagrant voter fraud is going to make this election an uphill slog for Mitt.

Yeah... if you drive the posted speed limit, you will get run over.Several years ago the missus and I went down there for the weekend. We took the metro and went to underground Atlanta. I'm not sure what it's like nowadays, but back then it was pretty interesting. Probably not the place if you've a youngster in tow.

Best DMV to file for carry permit?
mj12 replied to Luke E.'s topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
When you're finished with the paperwork, pay the application fee, etc. at DMV, they'll give you a piece of paper with information of where and how to get registered for fingerprinting. You can do that online; www.l1enrollment.com, or over the phone. I opted for online. In my case, all the locations in M'boro were booked up for the week. Because I work in Nashville, I chose a location close to the office. That process took less than 5-minutes. The cost is included in the $115 you paid at DMV.
