You can do 110, 125 or 147gr no problem. Lucky gunner has 125 gr Barnes OTM in stock, but it's not cheap.

If you don't already have that Holosun, EuroOptic has them on sale right now.

My buddy uses Varget also and Ramshot TAC.

I doubt it once most of the new people realize it's not as simple as just putting a lure in the water.

Even though most of the local farmers markets are closed, some of the vendors are still setting up in their locations. One of them, maybe Midtown, has a refrigerated trailer that has coastal goodies and gator. Fayette Packing is still open, you just have to call and place your order. I have a couple of local farmers I use if I want beef or pork in bulk.

There's a piece of property just outside Grand Junction on 57 that was raising Longhorns. I wonder if they are coming from there.

.22LR Optic Vortex Copperhead 4-12x44 vs Nikon Rimfire
Shorty replied to Henry347's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Your Vortex should be more than enough scope for your new .22. If you're dead set on getting a new scope, remember that Nikon is getting out of the scope business so if you have issues with the scope, you probably won't be able to get any warranty work out of them. -

It's a skinning blade that uses replacement blades like a razor blade. They are meant to be thin and super sharp to make the job easy and the replacement blades are there so you don't have to re-sharpen it. I don't know anything about that brand, but I've seen the design before.

Since my hunting rifle is also my range rifle, it has more of a "tactical" reticle. I didn't get a super busy reticle though so it's not annoying at all....to me. That said, EuroOptic is running closeout sales on Nikons. They have a 1-4 with a pretty simple reticle. https://www.eurooptic.com/Nikon-M-TACTICAL-Riflescope-1-4X24-Matte-MK1-MOA-16521.aspx Or a 1-6 with an illuminated center dot https://www.eurooptic.com/Nikon-BLACK-FORCE100-1-6x24-M-IL-FORCE-MOA-Riflescope-16660.aspx Or plain duplex reticle on a Leupild VX3 https://www.eurooptic.com/170683-Leupold-VX-3i-35-10x40mm-CDS-Matte-Duplex-170683.aspx

Sounds like you will be doing close up hunting, inside 100yds? Are you planning on hunting deer, pigs, coyotes, etc? If it's deer a low power scope would be ok, maybe even for coyotes. For pigs I would consider a red dot for follow up shots or multiple pigs. How much are you willing to spend?

Try one of those Bug-a-salt guns that shoots salt. I hear it works pretty good on flys. May have to get a littlest closer for the carpenter bees.

And entertaining

Eh, sounds too stringy, generally not enough fat for flavor and would probably dry out on the grill.. Also, I tend to stay away from eating creatures with known brain ailments.
-
An inexpensive low power scope would make a lot of difference when your trying to thread those shots through the leaves.
-
I've used 410, 12 gauge and .22 on them depending on the time of year. We used shotguns when the trees were full of leaves and moved to 22 when the leaves dropped. If you can get head shots or mid body with the 22, you'll do less meat damage. I don't remember there being a lot of pellets in them though when we used shotguns. What kind of 22 setup are you using on them and what distance?

That's what I'm trying. Thanks for the link. Some useful info in there on what's worth spending the effort on.

I've had tomatoes and peppers do that from the veg dropping of the plant and getting buried in the dirt. What I'm trying is from leftover store bought veg.
-
Have any of you tried re-growing your plants from the leftovers/cores ? I have a couple each of celery, romaine lettuce, and sweet potatoes out to see how well they regrow. I got them to sprout roots prior to planting. It's a waiting game now to see how well it works.

Conditional green card, denied carry permit

H-A H-A....what a comedian. I'd have to be able to reach the pedals first. -
Those suits were more likely inflated by a diet of beans, rice and canned chili.

I have an idea for a storm shelter.
Shorty replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Since you got my interest going, I found this site with a downloadable build list so maybe you can get a cost idea. https://buildblock.com/icfs/safety/safe-rooms/ This article also lists several other options and links to them: https://www.ottawalife.com/article/building-at-home-tornado-shelters?c=9 -

One more thought, could you put the door on the east side of the shelter since we get the strong west winds? That may lessen the debris concerns. Either way its definitely better than the bathtub and the options we have at my house. I'm in about the next town over from you. The last couple of heavy storms have provided some less than restful nights. -

Would it be better to put a hole in the floor and partially bury (3-4ft) the bottom of the room to give it a lower wind profile if the exterior room gets blown away. Should be more sturdy also. Of course thats more work and means busting up your concrete pad.
