PNW also makes range ammo (147gr) for a decent price. Last I looked, the Rem 115gr were $11.50-$12 and the PNW is $13.50-$14. Having shot both, I much prefer the PNW. I grouped better in my Blackout also

Don't know how good any of these would be for mil surp but I've ordered from them with no issue. MidwayUSA AIM Surplus (hace seen older items here) Bravo Company JoeBob Outfitters

I have one I built with the Wilson lightweight tactical barrel, believe it was about $250. I've run about 100rds thru it with zero issues, but I've only shot supersonics out of it so far. When my buddy's suppressor comes in I'll try some subs. Took it to the range over the weekend to sight the irons and my scope with the Rem 115gr UMC and PNW 147gr. I prefer the PNW, seems more consistent.

If you have a sweet tooth, the Cheesecake Corner off Main and GE Patterson (behind Arcade) is some of the best cheesecake I've ever had. He makes 20-30 different flavors every day. One slice could count as a meal.

Have you looked at this one? http://www.midwayusa...0-reticle-matte I looked thru it at Sportsman's Warehouse. Appeared to be a decent scope for the money. I've considered getting one, but I think I want a little more magnification. Its on sale right now too.

Try getting a hold of Kristin, she can tell you where to look. There's a place on Pleasant View, Everything Archery, I believe is the name. One of my old co-workers that was big into archery dealt with them a good bit. They have an indoor range you can use too.

Sportsman's warehouse has reloading supplies and they are generally cheaper than Bass Pro. If you are already coming this way, its not that much more of a drive.
-
Oddly enough I've seen a few decent ones in the past at Target. I was kind of surprised when I saw them. Might be worth a shot if you can't find one anywhere else.

Your best around here unfortunately is going to be either Bass Pro or Sportsman's Warehouse in Southaven. There aren't many places in town with a decent selection you can put your hands on. I've had the same problem in the past looking for ESEE and Zero Tolerance knives. You might have to resort to online knife dealers to get what you want.

Before 7pm, after 7pm, didn't seem to matter when we were at that Walmart the other day. We were standing right in front of the case looking for a couple of boxes of .223 to go sight in a new rifle and the lady working the counter was there when we walked up and immediately disappeared when we started looking, No luck finding anyone remotely close to the case once we were ready to purchase. That location has seemed crappier than the rest the few times I've gone in there.

Pretty sure one of the law enforcement departments uses it on occasion, but I don't believe it is open to the public

Not sure about the 98s, but the 92-94s had a plug under the glove box that you could jump and read the blinks on the dash to tell you what the issue was based on the code.

I would suggest shooting each of those before settling on one. I've shot a Springfield, but had to go with a Kimber. Just felt better to me and I shot better with it. On the flip side, my buddy loves the Springfield but not my Kimber. Its a personal preference thing I guess. Last I heard, Kimber was backlogged on production so current prices are probably a little inflated. I got my Tactical Pro II for about $800 used a while back.

I keep a Maratac AAA on my key chain. It gets used a lot more than you'd think.

Welcome. Capbyrd and I get together and go shoot sometimes

Vortex fits in your price range. They have a unconditional lifetime warranty if you manage to break it. I've been really happy with mine.
-
I'd like to know how well they work. I've thought about getting a couple but didn't want to waste the money if they weren't any good.

If you're concerned with which one is better to have, why not load a slug followed by buckshot? Personally I'd be hesitant to use a slug inside my home. Or you could go another route and take a look at Winchester PDX1 shells, a slug with three 00 pellets loaded on top of it.

Welcome fellow Memphian. That bolt action is going to require another purchase (range membership) to go along with it if you plan on shooting here.

I have this rifle with a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44, 30mm tube. I got mine from Midway for around $400. I looked through several other scopes before buying this one and it is equally as clear as any Leupold I looked through. Great scope for the money. I seem to get the best accuracy with either 168gr or 175gr. The only "complaint" I had with it was the bolt lever was a little difficult to cycle do to the closeness to the scope. A bolt knob easily solved that issue though.

I bought my ESEE 6 and then a Kabar and Rat3 from Discount Cutlery/Knives - Tactical, Collector, Hunting, Bushcraft, Pocket Knife No problems at all and fast delivery. A ESEE 3 will run you $96 shipped from them and arrives within a couple of days.

I'd be interested in this also. Damn, it looks like I'm the "kid" this time haha -
You might want to try hitting up Bikes Plus on Poplar maybe 1/2 mile past Forest Hill-Irene. The lady that runs that place is big into Adventure Racing and multi-sport racing. She might be able to give you some pointers on what to upgrade with. Cannondale would also be another good bike to look into from what I hear.

I like mine. I'd suggest getting some quality mags for it since the Kimber mags kinda suck and caused a few hang ups for me. Swapped them for Wilson's and it solved the problem. Would also consider upgrading the slide release. These two "upgrades" solved any issues I had before. On the flip side, my buddy has shot it a few times and says he'd prefer another 1911.

I'd be interested. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be as many folks over this way that think about it. One of my buddies and I have been considering/half joking about moving around Mid-Tn and splitting some land for this very thing.
