  1. Call Chance at Classic Arms in Cordova and see what he has in inventory. He's good people.
  2. For anybody looking for a g-shock, Macy's looks like they have a good selection and are having a 25% off sale until May 4th I think. Gshock is not on the excluded list so the discount applies.
  3. Having shot both in a 16in barrel, there was minimal difference felt, possibly due to flash/comp. There are several threads about taking whitetail and hogs with 300blk on the blackout forum. Not sure of the barrel lengths. Pretty sure I saw some sbr's suppressed.
  4. Cheapest factory ammo right now is Remington 120 gr UMC, I think
  5. I have a buddy that sent his back for a loose turret and they got his repaired and back to him within about 2 weeks, including shopping time. No problems or issues. I sent mine in after it developed a haze. I thought that perhaps it had developed a leak and moisture had gotten in. They returned it to me with a note stating the lens were cleaned and that a haze is common at higher magnification. While I've seen cheaper scopes lose clarity over time, I was a little surprised they went with the easy out, considering these are supposed to be a decent quality optic. Hopefully you get a good result with your warranty service.
  6. Which Seekins rail do you have? My MCRS went on so tight I could probably run it without the torx screws. The anti-rotation tabs hold it on tight. Is the barrel nut torqued sufficiently? The nut should have a series of holes that line up for the gas tube once it's torqued close to spec.
  7. I know you're not really leaning towards Leupold, but the Mark AR 3-9x40 can be found for about $350.  Its been a very nice scope on mine.  Super clear and sufficient magnification
  8. I'd be interested.
  9. If you go out there and tell them you are considering joining the club, they will take you around for a tour of the place so you can see everything.  While the initiation fee is a little steep, there aren't really any other options out this way so they can kinda charge what they want.  I'm sure it helps them be more selective in who joins also without outright saying it.  While they have various ranges out there, you don't get immediate access to all areas.  In order to shoot past 100yds, you have to qualify at 200 & 300, then again if you want to move out to the 600.  I can't remember exactly, but I think the cowboy action area is an invite/special member area.  Aside from the occasional stubborn guy that doesn't want to get off the line so it can be called cold, its not a bad range.  Oh and one other thing, if the Loosahachie ever floods, the club shuts down for a while.
  10. Their Beef Stew was surprisingly pretty good.  It may take a little more water than what they recommend and it was a little on the salty side, but if you cut it with added veg or rice it would be fine.
  11. Best price I was able to find when I bought my 6 was from The Knife Connection.
  12. We don't have any kids yet and quite frankly the way things seem to be headed, I'm not sure its the best idea right now, but watching stuff like this and reading other articles about revisionist history make me want to find some of the old textbooks we had growing up and stow them away in case we do end up having kids.  They may not have been the best either, but they were damn better than what they seem to be trying to teach kids now.
  13. In an office environment, the more innocuous looking the bag, the better. I use a Northface Recon as my laptop/EDC bag.  It has enough room to carry whatever you need for work, plus other essentials for EDC, but its not so big that its uncomfortable for work use.  If I'm not mistaken, Northface has a lifetime warranty on their stuff too.
  14. You can change out "pretty much" whatever you want on an AR, but if you are going to go that route (just my opinion) you might as well build the rifle yourself.  While it might be cheaper to purchase a whole rifle, once you start swapping out parts to get what you want, you probably are going to end up spending more than if you just built it with the parts you wanted from go.
  15. There may not be detectors up but I'm pretty sure most of the bars on Beale are posted.  I've had friends have to ditch their pocket knives at the roadblocks too.
  16. Sportsman's warehouse had some small rifle primers yesterday at lunch, guess its possible they still have some.
  17. The only issue I've found with mine is the rail will start to slowly pull away from the receiver when I use a shooting bag. Other than that the rail is nice.  The low profile QD mount is nice too.
  18. I've bought 4 different blems from Dave, 2 of them are ZT350s.  I've had absolutely zero issues out of any of them and I was hard pressed to find the blemish on either of the 350s.  I carry one of the 350s everyday.
  19. It was Hornady 165gr BTSP Interlock.
  20. I was at Sportsman's Warehouse at lunch today and they had about 9k of the CCI 200 large rifle primers.  They may or may not still have some.
  21. From AAC: "Max effective range, using M4 military standards for hit probability, is 440 meters for a 9 inch barrel, and 460 meters for a 16 inch barrel."
  22. Do you guys with the Samson's run into the issue of the handguard slowly pulling away from the heat sink on the barrel nut? Every trip to the range, when I use a sand bag rest, the handguard slowly works away from the receiver and I have to reset it when I get home. Doesn't matter how tight I make the compression screws (yes the heat shield clamps are on correctly)
  23. I've seen something of the same concept at Sportsman's Warehouse before. If I remember correctly, the bag had a valve on it so it was reuseable. It came with 4-6 drink additives.
  24. CMMG is one of the lower priced uppers I've seen ($550-650), but apparently they spec theirs to their ammo so some people have had issues getting them to cycle with other ammo (subs I believe). For the price of a CMMG + about $100, I built an upper to my specifications instead of forking over the $ to get the upper then about half that to get it where I wanted it to be. Honestly, I'd source a barrel and go from there.
  25. I must have done something right bc my tomato plants are producing like a champ, nice big ones. Must be the fertilizer, Plantone organic fertilizer if my memory is correct. One plant would easily be 6ft tall if the weight of the tomatoes didn't weigh it down. However, while I'm getting awesome tomatoes, I seemed to have attracted the attention of the local rodent population. They are taking out the ripe ones and my peppers 2-3 before I'm ready to pick them. I've had to wage all out war on the bastards, live traps, kill traps, snares and pellet rifle.
