  1. Can't make it tomorrow, but I'm not missing next weekend. The temperature around here is going to be too perfect to miss. I have a decent 10pt on my trail cam that's begging to come home with me. Gotta get out there before he gets a better offer.
  2. I always used Caladryl after a hot shower. It seemed to work for a while. Never tried this, but it seems logical to me, is using baking soda. Basically the basic properties of baking soda should help to neutralize the acidic properties of the chigger's digestive juices in the "bite". I found a few natural remedy sites claiming it helps.
  3. That's chiggers. They don't attach like a tick. Think more like a spider. They bite, inject digestive juices and drink it up.
  4. Depending on time and date, I might be able to meet up. Juggling 2 kids, I try to save my free days for deer season or hitting the range (MSSA) but it would be nice to put a face to some names.
  5. How's everybody fairing with the monsoon? The minor creek up the street from my house looks like a 4 acre, 20ft deep pond right now.
  6. From what I have been told, the suppressor gives the illusion that the sound is coming from a different direction. Don't know how true that is. And as far as pigs on this side of TN, according to TWRA they can be hunted at Big Hill Pond and Shelby Forest. I have never seen any at either location, but my dad claims he saw some in the dove fields out at Shelby Forest. He's also had a Ranger tell him to shoot any that he sees.
  7. Primary arms has a nice micro red dot that can be had for a very reasonable price.
  8. Try petfinder.com. They have a list of all kinds of dogs, not sure if it's just rescues or not. https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?location=Murfreesboro%2C+tn&animal=dog&breed=Chocolate+Labrador+Retriever&age=baby&age=young&filtersUpdated=false&distance=50&name=
  9. Unknown temp and exact elevation, so using sea level and 59°, bullet wins by just under half a second in zero wind, if my math is right. . (Not a professor)
  10. For an urban GHB, if you aren't going to have to cover a huge distance (<25 miles), and its just you, I would keep the bag "fast and light". I wouldn't plan on camping out. The more ppl realize things have gone south, the worse things would likely get imho. My list is: Everyday backpack, nothing flashy/tactical and probably neutral colored; extra pair of clothes/ shoes/boots if you have to wear dress/business casual during the day; good knife, multitool, multiple Powerbars and water, few pieces of hard candy, FAK, gloves, couple of black/brown garbage bags, small roll of duct tape, small quality flashlight, lighter, a reasonable amount of cordage, small pepper spray and sidearm of your choice. Adjust clothing to match reasonable climate expectations, but again I'd try to keep it light.
  11. A new hammer bushing will take care of the magazine release issue. They are about $10
  12. Life like rubber snake. Make sure to secure it though or a larger bird may try to fly off with it. Worked for me when I had birds trying to nest on my window siles. Took a few go arounds.
  13. Arm up a couple of Fire Scout UAVS like a mini Apache and go to work. They already developed them, might as well have some fun with them.
  14. Out of curiosity, what range around here goes out to 900, the range in Como maybe? MSSA stops at 600 unless I missed an update.
  15. Depending on the model of truck you have, and are willing to spend a little cash, Tuffy may have an underseat drawer that mounts using the seat bolts. Seemed a little more secure to me than in my console.
  16. Have you checked Sportsmans Warehouse in Southaven? They have a wall of materials towards the back.
  17. It's been a while since I looked, but I wanna say the 300blk forum had a lot of "recipes" in their hand loads section if you don't find a good on here.
  18. He looks like he's rearing to go. I can't wait til my little dude is able to hit the woods.
  19. Well for reference, Primary Arms put them on sale today for $180 for the short action stock.
  20. Keep an eye on the Primary Arms website. The Magpul Hunter 700 goes on sale periodically. My buddy and I both picked up one with magwell and sling mounts during one of the sales. Total price for everything was only about $10 more than the everyday price for the stock. It did seem to tighten up everything a little on my 700 sps tactical. As for the Vortex, I guess I am one of the few that hasn't been thrilled with my Viper, at least not the warranty. Initially it was awesome, great clarity, performed as expected and was a great price. After a particularlly cold hunt it developed a haze on the outer edge at the higher magnifications. Sent it back to Vortex with description of issue and included pics just to be sure. When I got it back, the invoice stated all they did was cleaned the lens and that the haze was normal as scopes age (3yrs old). I guess I could have gotten a lazy tech working on my scope but I wasn't that impressed. I may try sending it back one more time just to see. Or I could do what my buddy suggested and drive over it with my jeep and then send it back lol.

Except that Vice "President" is misspelled, so.... Then again, it is a porn site.
  22. I'll see your squirrels (little rat bastards) and raise you a young doe and 2 box turtles. Getting about too damn hot to sit out here for something else to maybe come along.
  23. It's keymod instead of mlok, but a couple of buddies have this Seekins. They say it's fairly light. If you watch the site, it goes on sale occasionally. http://www.primaryarms.com/sppakm15/p/sppakm15/
  24. Technically true, but the coral is identified as poisonous by the color pattern not the eyes. And there's no way that snake could be mistaken for a coral.
  25. Round pupils, so it's not venomous. Kinda looks like a Northern Water Snake, but it could be something else.
