  1. Better put your eye plugs in when shooting that thing, huh?!
  2. Yea, didn't even think of that... isn't 2 and 3/4" the nominal chamber size?
  3. PICS, DUDE!!!! Oh, and congrats! There's not a DW pistola out there that I don't like!
  4. Get both!! Sorry... stupid post... I have no experience with either of them. From what I understand, the older S&W 1000 series shotguns were very good, and built by Howa, I believe. Do you want a gun to shoot 3.5" mags, or just 2.5" loads? That seems to be the real deciding factor here to me.
  5. I can attest to how well the Wolf stuff shoots in EasilyObsessed's tricked out 10/22! It's teh first time I've laid 10 .22s into a solid cluster at 25 yds... probably the last, too, but whatever!
  6. They could have been talking about hunting zombies you know!
  7. Hey Guys and Gals, I've got 11 (don't know where #12 went to?) spent cases of 38 S&W nickel plated R-P brass up for grabs. I know it's not much, and an odd caliber, sorry! We had a bunch of guys from church out shooting awhile ago, and this was from one of the guys' stash. Anyways, I figure if there's someone out there who loads this, then every bit of brass helps. Pick up only in Rutherford Co, thanks!
  8. Reloader's Bench in Mt Juliet usually has bricks of the Wolf Match Grade ammo... it's actually good stuff by most accounts, and about in line with the mid-grade Eley stuff price-wise.
  9. Yea, I saw those Taurus models, but they have vent ribs and porting... not like a standard 629. That's what I'm trying to get at... was he talking about a plain-jane model, or onw of the fancier newer guns.
  10. Yea, to get all the goodies like porting, etc, you have to get a PC (Performance Center) gun. Thankfully, I traded two really junky guns for one nice one! Like Mike said, the last inch or so of barrel in a ported gun is more of a chamber. Does this look like what you are talking about? Or does it look more like a standard 629 like this? I'm still curious if you're talking about a new or used gun. Taurus hasn't made a "standard" looking .44 for a few years, so your comment about it looking like a standard 629 has me thinking that this is a used gun from a little while ago.
  11. Not knowing all the specifics, I'd say it's probably going to be fine. I think of Taurus as kinda' like the Hyundai of the gun world. They'll work fine and all, just don't expect the exquisite craftsmanship or tactile delight of some of the pricier makes. As for getting bullets where they need to be, it should do the trick nicely as long as there are no defects with the gun. If it's used there could be some wear or abuse issues, like any other gun. I bought a Smith 44 mag that was going slightly out of time. As time went on, the firing pin broke one day. I sent it back and Smith replaced the firing pin and the hand, fixing both problems. I understand Taurus has a very good repair policy as well. Will this be your first .44? They're freakin' awesome!
  12. http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/atlanta/stories/2009/01/15/east_atlanta_shooting.html?cxntlid=homepage_tab_newstab Sounds like a good shoot, and a good shooter!
  13. My thoughts exactly, Hunting! Beautiful gun, Farman! I'm jealous!
  14. Bingo!
  15. Heck, I'D even take $1,800 for your Bushmaster!
  16. That deifintley is nifty! My wife would like something like that. She's always freaking out about something!
  17. Haven't gone to a doctor... no, I didn't get a flu shot this year. I know... stupid...
  18. Just thought I'd share. I'm going on the second day of feeling horrible (guessing it's flu) and working from home. I'm very thankful that at least my job allows me to work from home, but I can't get nearly as much done here. Ugh.... thanks for listening anyways.
  19. Alright guys let's let it go. I didn't read the post as very funny either, but I've been very impressed by how well most of you have handled it. The high road is the best road, and thank you gentlemen for taking it.
  20. Then I guess you'll miss your first shot!
  21. You'll love it!! Just don't try to use 38spc wadcutters in it. You'll get the dreaded doublefeed and a bad jam up. Then you'll have to take the action apart to clear it. (This isn't experience talking here or anything!) As for accuracy, I got 4-6" at 100 yards open sighted with a couple handloads. Others were more 6-8" groups. I'm not a great shot with a rifle, so I'm guessing you'll probably do much better, especially if you scope it.
  22. The 6906 is a good option as well, as Nate pointed out. Unfortunately the one I bought (used VERY roughly) was a dud and wouldn't shoot worth crap, but others I have shot have been great guns.
  23. Just stick to shootin' folks, dude!
