  1. Look at the other side of it... if you got off work 2 seconds earlier, or drove faster you never would have known she existed, as you would have already been through the intersection and on your way. Chance is a crazy thing!
  2. Yea, I know that $14/mo of which you speak. Have you talked with a bank manager? If you don't tell them to stop it, it will show up next month. Also, make them refund any past charges to you. Just don't go in there waving your gun around... that makes things a little less friendly!
  3. I bank with Suntrust, and it's been all good. Great rate on my 2nd mtg a couple years ago, no fees of any kind, and I'm friends with every bank manager in the area. Interest (albeit small) on my checking account, too! I WAS with AmSouth/Regions, but had a number of less than stellar interactions with the local management. When the one person I liked, the lady at the teller window, quit there because she didn't like management either I moved my accounts. I've been happy as a clam at Suntrust, and they also have a branch right near my parent's house in Miami, FL so I can bank as normal when I go to visit them. If you are in the Rutherford area and need personal banking assistance, call Lina Culps at 459-8621. If you need business banking help, call Julie Markus at 355-7365 and tell them James at Farmers Insurance sent you. They'll hook you up.
  4. I recently posted the little "Conan the Librarian" clip from Weird Al's UHF on anotehr forum, as someone there is a librarian. Anyways, this clip came up on youtube right after it, and I cracked up! Here goes:
  5. Hey guys! Sorry, I've been absolutely slammed with both business and personal events the last few weeks. Phillip has it right from all that I understand. I don't know much about the NRA stuff so the gun shop guys and NRA instructors are better resources than I am.
  6. Welcome! Good to have some more local blood on the forum!

    LCR or 642?

Wow, good point! I personally think the LCR is one butt-ugly piece that doesn't present any real advantages over the 642, IMO. (Like my opinion actually matters! ) But, given that you probably could turn around and break even, give or take a few bucks, on the deal... I'd probably buy the LCR just to try it out some. Being the Smith junkie I am, I'd probably find something not to like about, sell it, and then buy another 642! I do like some ruger guns, and want another GP100 bad right now... but a composite revolver is just not on my wish list.
  8. Meh... I wouldn't worry about increased wear. Ever shoot Remington Golden Sabres? Brass jacketed. I shot over 5,000 rounds of the stuff in my Sigma .40 when I had it with no ill effects. (the un-bonded sabres were about as cheap as any other jacketed component a few years ago... plus they looked cool. But... the jackets nearly ALWAYS separated. Not a big deal when shooting bowling pins and old computers, though.) Blast away, my friend!
  9. Can you tell me a brand name and where I can find that? We are having bird problems in one specific part of our front stoop's cover, and I can't figure out how to fix it. This sounds like it may do the trick.
  10. Gorgeous grips! Congrats!
  11. I'm a righty and have never gotten used to putting my left thumb forward over my right thumb. I probably look like a moron when I shoot (and probably when I don, too) as my left thumb just stands up, almost like I'm giving someone the It stays out and away from any levers/controls so at least it doesn't cause any problems. I shoot OK (I'm no dead-eye, but I get by) that way and it feels natural to me. Maybe I'll change eventually, but it works for me so far.
  12. Well keep going then! I love these stupid people stories! (Though I'm sure I could be the main character in some of them!)
  13. Yes, the component shortage/price hike has slowed me down. However, one good thing is that I haven't really had the time to go shooting anyway, so it doesn't hurt me too bad. Instead of taking 500-600 rounds to the range, now I only take 200-300. Also, in a normal year, I would have gone shooting at least a dozen times so far, but I've only been shooting twice sof far in 2009. I am loading up quite a bit of .357, .44, and .38. I think I have more assembled cartridges on hand now than I eve have before. At least 500 rds each, more in .38 and .44. Before, my loading couldn't keep up with my shooting.
  14. uhhhhh... doesn't Crimson Trace make lasergrips for the GP100? Lookie-here! Laser sights for Ruger Handguns | Pistol Laser sight | Crimson Trace Lasergrip They do! I bet that would probably be a lot easier than modifying the gun to work with something else. Good luck!
  15. as of my vote If you were grading Barack Obama on his performance as president, what would he get? * 1558043 responses He gets an A 35% He gets a B 6.9% He gets a C 4.9% He gets a D 13% He gets an F 40%
  16. My chiropractor has the exact same Jeep. Nice!
  17. Did changing the background from textured to a flat color help with bandwidth issues, too?
  18. Congrats Nate!! That's awesome!! I've accumulated a good sum of debt since starting my business, and am finally starting to pay it off. If all goes according to plan (good luck with that!!) We'll be debt free (except the house) in about 4 years.
  19. We pay a friend from church $35 to mow and weed eat our .3 acre or so lot. Honestly, I think there are a LOT of people going into this same type of work right now due to the economy and job loss. Everyone if undercutting each other and nobody is making money. I see the same thing with commercial cleaners. I get at least one, usually 2-3 people a week stop in my office and tell me about their new cleaning company, asking if I will hire them. Not to be a wet blanket, but I would keep researching (like you are) and think long and hard about it right now. Best of luck!
  20. I thought this thread was about some new song, or maybe a jelly of some sort.
  21. Also to keep what you just sprayed in the holster form gumming up the gun, is my guess.
  22. Wow. Never seen one quite like that before!
  23. Kelley will be reading this soon. Good report, and thank you!
