It says new platform, so I'm guessing it's not an SR variant. My guess was AR. I wonder what Ruger could offer in either an AR or 1911 that would be new or improved.

Oh man, then get you a pound of Bullseye and a pound of either HP38 or Win231 (they are the same powder) and work up some nice mild magnums, or just 38s in magnum cases. I worked up some light 38 level loads in 357 cases for my wife's model 19, and they are AWESOME!

Note that there are now warnings from Alliant about using Blue Dot with bullet weights of 125gr and under in .357, so I'd shy away from that now. BD is darn flashy, too. What's the main purpose here? Less flashy, or full power with another powder? For full power I'd go H110/W296. It produces quite the muzzle flash as well, especially from your 2.5" barrel. Slower magnum powders will always provide the best velocity, even in the shorter barrels vs. the faster powders. 2400 may meet your needs of power, and it seems less flashy in my experience. It's also more forgiving of reduced loads. That looks fun! I never really put them side by side, but is a .45 case shorter than a .40 case? I'm guessing that is what accounts for the odd compression ring around the case mouth. Glad all is well.

I made french bread pizzas for me and the Mrs. last night. Emeril's Italian Essence (sounds really gross, if you ask me, but that Emeril's Essence is delicious!) and garlic salt are the keys to making a good pizza. I had mine with pepperoni and sliced hungarian wax peppers, the wife just like plain cheese. Oh, and Prego pasta sauce for the pizza sauce. For some reason the stuff labeled "pizza sauce" is always gross. Good ol' Prego rules.

Dang!!!! That's scary! What kind of .44 load were you shooting? That looks like something pretty serious... maybe skipping the heat treating or something? Did the round make it to the target?

Ya know, I actually had a pretty good experience Saturday carrying my model 64 in an Uncle Mike's neoprene IWB. I wore it for about 6 hours and it was never uncomfortable. Probably the best $9.99 I've spent on a holster!

My wife took the class this weekend as well, and had a very good experience. I'm going to try to get her on here and post up a little review of some sort before the week's out. Kelley is a bit of a sissy when it comes to rain and dirt, so she didn't stick around for the extra shooting time. I was a little ticked that she didn't take advantage of that, but I was still proud she went and took the class. 4 years ago when we were still dating and I got my first gun she hated it. She didn't want to know about it, she didn't want to see it, and she didn't want me to have it. A few months later, we had broken up for a little while and she was desperate to spend time with me. One weekend I told her she could spend time with me, but it would have to be at the gun range because I wasn't changing my plans. She reluctantly agreed, and by the time she shot a magazine through the P22 she was grinning ear to ear! Success! Well, she still isn't as big into shooting as I am, but we're getting there. Last night after the CIS class she came home and got on the computer. She started looking at pink earmuffs for herself! From there she started looking at other guns and then started asking me about all the components that go into loading our ammo. I told her nobody had small pistol primers in stock and she took it as a personal challenge to prove me wrong! She didn't, but it was fun watching her try!

That's common for a lot of auto loaders. It's normally where the case whacks the edge of the ejection port as it is flung out of the chamber on ejection. I don't have an M&P40, but my Sigma did it most of time, and you'll see that on almost all .45 brass shot out of a 1911. Upon resizing it should iron out, and it's not really anything to worry about. Happy shooting!

I think I used 3/4" plywood for the top of my bench. My Lee turret press mounts a little differently than a Dillon, though. My press mounts right on the edge of the bench, so two bolts are going through the plywood top and into the 2x6 boards that make up the frame. I have my press mounted 32" from the floor and it's perfect for my height. I'm 6'1". I like to stand while reloading so this setup works well for me.

I'm sure it's been posted here before (most likely by me) but this is so classic, it's worth a repost, IMO! Warning: Some Strong Language

I don't advise using the drill method. It's easy to get carried away and you coulod do more damage than you mean to in the chambers. The average 38/357 bronze brush does a really crappy job of cleaning chambers because the chammber itself is larger than the .357 diameter of the bore of the gun, and those little brushes are more for barrel cleaning. Pro-Shot makes a really good chamber brush Pro-Shot Products Notice that the bore brush and chamber brush are separate products? The chamber brush is made of stiffer bronze, it is a little longer, and of a wider diameter than the bore brush. Get one of these and use a good solvent (plain ol' Hoppe's #9 works great in all my guns) and make 5-6 passes with the brush wet with solvent. Make sure that you completely push the brush THROUGH the chamber in each direction. Don't stop halfway and try to reverse directions. If it's real bad, let the chambers soak a few minutes and then run through them again. Then just follow through with dry patches until they come out relatively clean. Most folks don't understand the difference between bore and chamber brushes, but it's pretty important, especially if you shoot magnums and specials in the same gun. As others have stated, shoot your magnums first, then your specials. I like to go back and forth between the two when I'm at the range, so I take a brush and rod to the range with me. I don't take solvent and patches because I'm not worried about giving the gun a full cleaning while I'm there. The chamber brush itself will get out most of the crud, especially if the gun is still warm.

Haven't checked on these guys in months. Kinda' funny... kinda' not in a sad sort of way.

and at some point, Quality Control must be performed, I'm sure. (ie: shoot the gun) I know nothing about the accidents, and I know only one person who has posted in this thread, but I'm sure there are some times in gunsmithing that accidents may happen, even when the 4 rules are being followed. Cut the dude some slack!
