Yea, I know! Honestly, I've only ever spent about 45 minutes driving a manual over my lifetime so far. One was a Ford Ranger (dog of a truck) the other was my uncle's BMW Z4 3.0 6 speed. That car was awesome. I didn't stall it once and was actually pretty darn smooth with it. I'm hoping that after I pay off my car and sock away some extra dough that I can buy a beater sports/sporty car with a stick to learn on. I'm thinking something along the lines of a nice fox body GT, S2000, or an early 90's 911. I don't want to "learn" on my Ferrari with an $8,000 clutch!

Great story!! Where's Phil? Somebody oughtta wipe his face in this article... Serpas too, the pansies. -
Absolutely beautiful gun! That one has incredible bluing! There really is nothing like shooting an excellent .38 revolver, and that one looks amazing. Here is a quick and dirty resource I reference when looking at S&W revos. I'm sure TDR and Peanut have much more detailed info for you. Smith & Wesson model changes

My '03 Lincoln LS V8 w/ Sport package, 5 sp manumatic I know, it's not much to some, but I'm a young kid and to me it's a retty big deal to be able to have such a nice car so early in life. I got it when it was 2 yrs old for about 40% of the original sticker price, too! I've got about 10 payments left on it. I can't afford two cars, so I had to get one that could carry people as well as be fun to drive, and this fits the bill pretty well. This car really has a great suspension setup for a luxury hauler, and when I went to Michelin Pilot Sports instead of the boring Michelin Energy touring tires on there, it made initial turn-in a whole new ball game, and they stick pretty good going around corners. Unfortunately, they break traction pretty easily when powering away if there is any dust or moisture on the road. Then the stupid traction control kicks in and cuts the throttle for a second and steals all the fun away! Thankfully it has an "off" button for that feature! My wife has an '02 Explorer Limited which is pleanty nice, but nothing really special. As some may know already, this is my dream car: I don't give a rat's patoot that there are faster and better cars out there now for less money. This is the car I dream of. It will be mine.... oh yes... it will be mine!

That warning is listed because Federal primers usually have the softest cups of any make, and the Lee designs don't have any mechanism to keep primers seperate from each other when priming. They say that in some situations primers may get in there at a weird angle, thereby leading to improper seating and possible detonation, leading to a chain reaction because the primers are so close. Honestly, I use Federal primers with my handheld Lee primer tool all the time. I go slowly and don't use much force. Every now and then I do get one that goes in sideways, and the only way to get it out is to either try to stick something down the case and push it out, or just continue seating the primer until you can pull the shell from the case holder. I do the latter, but when I know I have a hangup, I empty the rest of the primers from the tool before fixing the situation. I also make sure to point it in a safe direction. I have never had one detonate so far. This problem occurs every now and then in the Lee tool regardless of brand and primer size. It's probably happened to me 15 times in 4 years. Sorry if this is unclear. I'm typing this up on my blackberry in the middle of my sis-in-law's HS graduation. Happy loading!

You haters can say what you want, but Leno was and is a real class act. Not only as a showman, but as a human being.

I don't like Letterman, and I CANNOT STAND Conan. I love watching Jay's show and will really miss it. However, I will be getting to bed earlier from now on! The only other show I like watching is Craig Ferguson, but I ain't staying up that late! I am looking forward to Jay's new show. I've got the DVR set to record tonight's last episode.

Thanks for all the info guys! Just what I was looking for. Dr, if he is willing to sell and I can't buy it in the next few weeks/month, I'll put in a word for you.
-
It's DAO, so I'm guessing that means it's a 96D. I don't think it's a brigadier or police model. I haven't seen it yet, but he only buys stuff that is in excellent shape. I'm going to try to talk to him about it next week. I'm not worried about it being posted here. He doesn't check the boards. On another note: I just got word from my renters (between my first post and this one) that they have to break their lease and are going to back to Florida. No sense trying go after them for breach of contract or anything because they've got nothing to go after, so I'm just screwed now. That puts the ixnay on any gun purchase for me. (I'm just a wee bit miffed, in case you can't tell.) Anyways, I would still like to know what you think regarding prices. Maybe something else will come up and maybe someday I'll have some dad-blasted cash again.

What should one run? Blued, not sure if it's American made or Italian, so what you you say for each type? I have a friend who has one and has mentioned that he may be willing to sell it. I love the 96, so I'm thinking about it, but I'd like to have some idea of what's fair for it. Thanks guys!

Importance of church attendance Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday, and the priest almost fell down when he saw him. Murphy had never been seen in church in his life. After Mass, the priest caught up with Murphy and said, 'Murphy, I am so glad ya decided to come to Mass, what made ya come?' Murphy said, 'I got to be honest with you Father. A while back I misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn had a hat just like me hat, and I knew that McGlynn came to church every Sunday. I also knew that McGlynn had to take off his hat during Mass and figured he would leave it in the back of church. So, I was going to leave after Communion and steal McGlynn's hat.' The priest said, 'Well, Murphy, I notice that ya didn't steal McGlynn's hat. What changed your mind?' Murphy said, 'Well, after I heard your sermon on the 10 Commandments, I decided that I didn't need to steal McGlynn's hat after all.' The priest gave Murphy a big smile and said; 'After I talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' ya decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in Hell, right ?' Murphy slowly shook his head and said, 'No, Father, after ya talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I left me hat.

Colt Tactical Rimfire AR rifles....."Tactical Bunny Slayers"

What are you even talking about? -
Dang. Looking at Hodgdon's data (and you already know that I won't use magnum primers in 9 and .40) I would have thought you still would have been ok. Hodgdon's max shows 4.4grn for lead, and 4.8grn for jacketed. What I'm slowly learning in reloading is that extrapolating a load from data for other recipes is not always the best idea. There are so many variables in internal ballisitics it'll make your head spin, and to think that X should work in Y case doesn't always come out the way we want it. Am I still a goober, and do I still go a little outside the box sometimes? yes and yes. However, as you've heard from me before, I won't make things up for cases with high pressure or small case capacities, especially not cartridges that suffer from both. I'm glad you were not hurt, and it seems the gun only sustained minor damage. However, are you now not a little worried about the .40 loads, seeing the problems caused in the 9? I can't remember what guns you were shooting these in, but .40s from nearly every mfgr have less case support when compared to their 9mm counterparts. I hate to be a wet blanket as you start reloading, but I am going to be anyways. I know the primer shortage has been very hard. I am out of small pistol primers myself, and yes, I am even using some small pistol mag primers in my .38 and .357 loads. However, those cases have MUCH more capacity (the .38 being a black powder load originally, then the .357 being a stretched .38) and I'm reducing most loads closer to 20-25%. The beauty of loading for revolvers is that I don't have to worry about cycling the action, but merely getting the bullet free of the bore. Side story: Primers can have a lot of power in them. In my very first batch of reloads, I somehow did not charge the case for one round. These were .38s being shot in a 6" Ruger GP100. The dropped, I heard a light "pop", and didn't get a hole in the target. I stopped shoting, epmtied the gun, and found a bullet stuck halfway out of the muzzle of the gun. Primers have some power to them. You may try reducing your loads further... I don't know. (I don't condone that. May stance is not to use mag primers in 9 and .40 at all.) You will decide to do what you want to do, and I have no control of that. However, I do hope that you will discontinue the use of mag primers in that cases. I also hope that we can both find small pistol primers at reasonable prices very soon, and that way this whole problem will be nil! One other thing that just ran through my head was OAL. (overall length) How was that vs. the recipe? Any chance of bullet setback? Just another thought. I hope that these troubles don't sour you on reloading. It is an excellent hobby, and adds a lot to your shooting experience. Good luck!

Colt Tactical Rimfire AR rifles....."Tactical Bunny Slayers"
musicman replied to BimmerFreak's topic in Long Guns
This may be a silly question... are they built on standard AR lowers, allowing for interchangeable uppers? -
Yea, they are ubgainly, but really cool in their own kinda' way. I just don't have the desire for a .380 of any kind, but I like the micro eagle. Congrats! TDR ain't all that bad! Shoot, he was downright friendly when we swapped ammo for a holster. Just keep an extra burger around in case he's hungry!

The day after legal restaurant carry
musicman replied to Mousegun's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
hehehe, I don't drink! That's why I really like this whole restaurant carry bill. I'll never have to be unarmed! But seriously, Monday night is $.35 wing night. Dinner may be a possibility one week! -
The day after legal restaurant carry
musicman replied to Mousegun's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Slightly OT... One place that I already don't like and don't want to go to any more is Buffalo WIld Wings. First, their food sucks, second, they are expensive, and third, the have a sign on the door stating something to the effect of "We ban guns on these premises." Until this new law goes into effect, they have no reason to post because they have that huge bar in the back! Anytime I see the term "ban" near the word "guns" it gets my blood pressure up. I wonder what kind of liberal pansy owns that chain anyways. -
If you're just looking for anything right now, I believe Sam's off Old Fort is hiring. WallyWorld on the other side of 24 WAS hiring a couple months ago, but I don't know if they are still filling positions now. Best of luck to you, man.
