Wow!!! That is a poop-ton of primers!!! I bought a 5k box of the Tula primers from Sam's hubby at the Nashville show. I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they look great... really visually consistent... if that even makes sense! I'm going to try them out in the next week or two and if all goes as planned, I'll be grabbing a few more boxes pronto!
-
Is that Stevens a black Friday thing, or every day pricing?
-
Lowers are inbound to D&T Thanks for the info guys!! Now I gotta find the best deals on uppers w/BCG
-
Thanks!! So if that stripped one is simply listed as "receiver" I can make it a pistol or rifle at will. Is that assumption correct?
-
Do you need a lower identified as a pistol lower, or simply a pistol buffer tube to make it a pistol?
-
Weeelllllll.......... for the money I thought they were all great deals... I got one with the fixed A2 style stock, one adjustable, and one stripped. I want to build the fixed stock gun into a bull-barrell varmint type gun, the adjustable stock gun into the lightest-weight compact thing I can w/o making it an SBR, and I don't really have plans for the stripped lower right now.

Just ordered a few New Frontier lowers from JoeBobs. I'm still a bit cash-strapped so it'll be awhile til I can get them built up, but I'll report how things go. :-)

I was about to do the same thing! I saw the card, blinked a few times, and walked away.

I went back and re-read my post, and I see now how you could think I was unhappy... I'm sorry, that is not the case, nor my intent. I'm a smart-mouthed sarcastic booger quite often, with a weird sense of humour. Everything in that post is trying to poke fun at myself. That "furrowed brow that lets you know you're an idiot" is just the natural response we all have one someone asks a really stupid question that makes no sense... he wasn't giving me a hard time, I had simply put him in an awkward position with my badgering. I hope you understand that I am happy, dude was perfectly cool, and because of your great responses to everything I've seen so far I only have more respect for you and your family. :-) I'm sorry you couldn't make it to your reunion. :-(

Nooooooo!!!!! That's now what I meant at all!!! He did not provide bad service in any way, I was just asking all kinds of odd questions he wasn't prepared for! I'm happy with what I got, what I paid for it, and the person who gave it to me. I'm just sure I totally weirded him out, is all. :-) Like I said, you have a repeat customer :-)

Wifey got me an M&P 40 for my berfday a few weeks ago and I finally got to wring it out today at the Hobson Pike range! I fed it about 50 rds of WWB first, then 100 of my reloads with Berry's 165gr plated bullets, then 150 more reloads with Zero 165gr JHPs, followed by 50 Winchester 180gr bonded JHPs. One small hiccup that I attribute to having a bad grip after a fast reload, but other than that the gun was great! I have been shooting revolvers pretty much exclusively for the last 4-5 years and I was pretty disgusted with my accuracy at first. I put down the M&P and picked up my .38 and .44 and was right back in the zone again. I went back to the M&P and then realized I had horrible trigger control for that slightly longer, more awkward striker-fired trigger pull. (I usually shoot the revos in SA) I slowed down, focused on the follow-through and was cloverleafing again in no time. :-) Aaaaahhhhhhh.... that's more like it! Here's the group of friends that accompanied me today: and a faster-but-not-quite-rapid-fire target from the 5 yd line: As always, I met some great people at the range. I told two newer shooters, Zack and Andreas, about TGO (hope they read this.. Hi!) and got to introduce them both to the world of revolvers. Neither had ever shot one before! I guess revolvers are like typewriters these days, huh? I got to shoot another dude's .54 black powder pistol. I was about 8" high, but my horizontal axis was perfect!! Oh, and the weather was PERFECT!!! Nice lightly cloudy blue sky and a cool breeze. It was better than any indoor range I've been in! This was my second trip to the Hobson Pike range. My first trip was an awful one, and I haven't gone back in over 7 years but I decided to give it a try today because I'm a cheapskate now. It was a good decision.

Stopped by your booth today and got some primers and powder. I feel I definitely got my money's worth! Unfortunately I missed Sam. I did, however, do a great job at probably coming off like a weirdo, jerk, and tightwad to whoever the dude was running the show there! First I introduced myself as "musicman from TGO" which elicited a nice, big, blank stare of confusion to start this transaction off on the right foot. (In my e-mails to Sam, she said to swing by and introduce myself so she could put names with faces from TGO) Well, dude, didn't know what TGO was, nor why my parents would give me such a weird name. To further solidify the awkwardness I asked him about some Ramshot powder he was unfamiliar with. After I had picked out a box of 5k sp primers and some powder I asked if David was still offering an entrance fee refund over some dollar amount. (If I was going to the show to look at any other stuff, I wouldn't ask or accept that, but the only reason I came was to buy stuff from him. I really didn't like spending $5 to park and $8 to get in just for reloading supplies) In response I got that awesome furrowed brow that lets you know you're really an idiot. I handed him my cash, he gave me my change, and he was probably happy to see this fat buffoon get far, far away from his personal space. Now don't take this wrong... whoever that guy was was very nice and helpful, and I will be a repeat customer. It was just... imagine you're going to your high school reunion expecting to see all your old friends, but you you showed up at some other school's reunion instead! I'll be spending the next month's worth of nights isolated in the garage working through these primers now. :-D

I shot one that another dude had at On Target in Mboro a few years ago. I liked it a lot, and he said he hadn't had any problems with it. Of course, I love CZ75s, too!
If anyone needs any Pmag's...
Wow. If you ever get to Nashville, I'd be happy to help you reduce your inventory! If anyone in Nashville is planning on doing something similar as a group buy or something, I'd be in for at least 5 (I know, I'm poor)

I would say those semi-autos that aren't cycling with Winchester white box or cheap Federal (which IS American Eagle) are in need of tuning and/or repair. I've gone through lots of both in most popular calibers with no trouble. I like Federal brass for reloading, so if American Eagle is the same money as the rest, it's my pick.

Ha!! I didn't know all those internals were poly... just figured they were the basic steel bits! I'll be a monkey's uncle...

Can I jump in? I've got a moderate case of blade-bug and this sounds like a cool thing in which to take part! Maybe I can find a cool way to use it when I change out the pickups and put a variable active boost kit in my PRS SE Custom Semi-Hollow. :-)
-
Dolomite, do you foresee any issues using a drop-in replacement trigger like a Timney, or just an upgraded fire control group in that receiver? I'm thinking I'll want something good/pretty good for the varmint gun, so I may order one stripped, and one with lpk installed.
-
I'm down with Charlie's too. And I can finally shoot my new M&P!! Last weekend we were on a Gatlinburg getaway with her fam, then this past Monday my wife's grandmother passed away unexpectedly so we've been in Kentucky all week. I'll be ready to shoot out some frustrations real soon!
-
Ooooowwhheeee!!! Dude, I'm going to take you up on that offer in the next few weeks. Wanna meet up at The Armory maybe? Been wanting to try their range out. I got a fair amount of .223, and a few pmags waiting at my doorstep when I get home tomorrow. :-)

That gives me warm fuzzies. I'm cool with a CLEAN heavier trigger.

I'm considering building a couple ARs on the polymer lowers that JoeBob is selling. One would be a 16" lightweight tactical type with a red dot or something like that, the other would be a varmint style gun, probably 20", with optics. I've done a little reading and have seen a few horror stories about poor-quality poly lowers, but so far the JoeBob units seem OK. Thoughts, experiences?

Gotcha. Thanks so much for answering that for me!
