  1. Just fyi, 100/$30 is the same as the 20/$6 they have shelf-deep. It's technically cheaper to get 5 of the 20rd packs by 4¢. Don't think something is a good deal just cuz the box is bigger. My Momma taught me that when we used to go grocery shopping. ;-)
  2. Got a Remington 525 rd brick of 22 there @ 9:15 today. :-)
  3. Why didn't they work in your buddy's glock?
  4. HO-LEE CARP!!!  I just watched the whole thing and I gotta be honest, my heart is pounding.  Yea, I'd be scared poop-less if that happened to me.  (But not defenseless, though admittedly, I would be short of ammo for an invasion like that under those circumstances... time to throw a few more loaded mags in the mix!)   What a group of morons.  The gang mentality is ridiculous.  I can't believe that in over six minutes not a single cop was to be found.  Terrible.
  5. I like Duck Dynasty, and I don't begrudge them their new found fame. I actually bought a few $2 Uncle Si cups last week. Wifey loves her pink one! My head isn't so far up my rump I can't simply enjoy it for what it's worth. We're gunna drink out of something anyways, $2 isn't a bad price whether it's branded or not.
  6. That's right! 25 ACP!!! I can't believe what good luck I have! And I was nice, I left some for everybody else! ;-) But seriously... a bum day for finding 22. I had today off, which NEVER happens, so I hit Academy in Smyrna when they opened and... nothing.... just 9 that was too expensive. :-( Got a few boxes of CCI Quiet 22 on Nolensville/Harding but there wasn't much there. Wasted day off. :/
  7. Ditto. Great pistol. We had one growing up, and I just recently got one for myself. My Dad still uses his for smaller lizards, etc, and only breaks out the air rifle for larger iquanas and squirrels that eat up his fruit trees down there in Miami.
  8. All 3. Last pic is mboro south of bell rd.
  9. Glad you saw the movie AFTER I got those grips from you! I would NOT want to take one on the chin from you, buddy!! Haha! I haven't been to the movies in about a year, but I really want to see this and RUSH. Maybe...
  10. Antioch, 4 pm today
  11. I really respect JB, and I've tried many times to "get into" his stuff... I have Guitar Shop and some other album. I'm just into heavier stuff I guess. Though, I find myself becoming more and more of a Strat man, so maybe that'll change! Heck, I'm thinking about selling off my vintage Ibanez guitars, and a PRS SE Semi Hollow and buying another Strat or two. I will say this, though, there are not many people in the world who can work a trem like him!
  12. Has he thought about talking to any gun shops? I guess... is he looking for top dollar (not going to get that from a store) or just an easy dump?
  13. Interested, heck yes! Able to do anything about - nope. :-(
  14. I think something important is being out jn your retail reload price calculation: profit for the retailer. Very few remanufacturers have their own store. They have to sell it at a certain cost to a retail establishment, which then needs to add their own margin to it for profitability. (Usually 15-40%) Not to mention shipping costs. That junk is heavy! Sure, I make 38 spc for $7/50, and new is $20/50 at the store. But with dirstibutors/retailers/shippers in the mix I'm under no pretense that I can get it to a customer at a greatly reduced price. The place I do see some room, however, is in the magnum cartridges like 357 and 44. Factory ammo is near astronomical for those calibers, while the cost to manufacture is only nominally more than 38 spc. The downside is that not nearly as many people go through that type of ammo as fast, so sales quantities would be greatly diminished.
  15. Where did you learn about a nickle case being stronger than brass? Generally accepted wisdom is that nickle plated brass is more brittle, and more prone to splitting. What it IS is cooler looking so people will gladly pay over $1/round for the stuff. Nearly all of my case splits in 40, 38, and 357 are from nickle plated brass. Do you have links to any info backing that idea? I'm interested to learn, as I have though the reverse for over a decade. Thanks!
  16. The sad part is that no one there was armed and willing to neutralize the threat. His mother's prayers were doubly effective.
  17. Go a few times a week. Sometimes it'll look like your pic, other times it'll be the Valley of Canaan, flowing with 9 and 40. I don't think people understand this concept. Stores now are finally getting pretty large shipments of ammo on a regular basis, but of course there has been a drought for a long time, so people are buying it up quick. I'm not a gouger, in fact, I generally lose a couple bucks or give ammo away to people who haven't been able to find it themselves. What I am is willing to make the rounds pretty often, and that was years before Sandy Hook.
  18. On second look, that's more of a hatchet/pick kinda' thing, isn't it?
  19. Both cool, but that's one freakin' awesome hammer!
  20. Like others have said... cheapest thing you can find from a recognized brand is where I'd start. For some reason I really like Federal. I'm a reloader, and I've had really good luck with their brass lasting through lots or reloadings. I seem to get fewer split/cracked cases from their stuff, and their stuff is primarily what I have. Other brands are the minority in my brass buckets, but I seem to get more scrap from the minority than the majority.
  21. Hehehe... yea.  I make a loop of 3 WalMart stores 2-3 times a week.  They all are pretty bare about half the time but when they get shipments, they are now pretty big shipments with lots of good stuff stacked deep.  Of course, it still sells out quickly but whereas I used to only score 2-5 boxes of ammo a week, I'm now hitting the 3 box limit at multiple stores, a few times a week.   It's getting better.  I'm nervous about these three stores jacking up their prices like the Murfreesboro stores.  Maybe I shouldn't share my honey holes, but I'm not the selfish type.  :-)
  22. So, a year ago 50 rounds of Federal 40 was $16.  Today, 100 rds for $25.  That's $12.50/50.  Me likey.  I make it myself and I got some anyway!
