Yep, had a blue camo JanSport ripoff! Did I walk right by and not see you? Sorry Bro!

I think I saw a pile of the 30MM cans for $10/ea. I didn't look for the 50s.

Good to hang out with some TGOers today! I got some powder and primers from Sam, another mag for my 3913, and a follower for my 500 from Ken Arnold. Ken was a super nice guy, and really helped me out today. I wanted the Choate orange follower to put in my Mossy. I almost bought one online last week, but held off, hoping to find one this weekend. He only had the part I was looking for as a piece of a larger kit he was selling. I didn't need all the other stuff. Without me even having time to ask, he popped it out of the kit and offered it to me for $4! He said it was no big deal, he has them individually back at his shop. He'll just throw one back in later to complete the kit again. I also checked out some of his other parts. I'll definitely be getting a good number of parts for my TGO AR build from Ken. I'm glad we have him as a site sponsor/vendor. I've seen him at the shows for awhile, but this was my first experience with him. I'm a happy customer! :-)

I'm going to be in Chattanooga the weekend of Nov 8th. If you still have any available by then, I'd like to buy 5. Thanks!

How does the auto index work for you? I haven't really thought about doing that before. -
I think the Murfreesboro show is much better than the Nashville show. I did, however, get everything I wanted out of both shows the last couple months.

Your rubber bushing in your Lee Pro Auto Disk powder measure/dispenser, that is! I've been reloading on an off for about 8 years now, and have been using the same equipment since day 1. The last year or so, things have gotten really messy when using the finer powders like AA2,5,7,and 9, H110/296, etc. My auto-disk would shed granules like crazy, and I've actually started switching things up so I would be using the medium flake powders instead. I knew it was the elastomer wiper in there that was all worn out, and I had put it in the back of my mind to replace it. I went to the Reloader's Bench last weekend for the first time in quite awhile, hoping they'd have one for sale there... no dice. :surrender: I finally broke down and ordered from the Lee website. They were just $1 each and shipping was a $3 minimum, so I grabbed 4 of 'em. Also, I had quite a scare a few months back when I dropped both of the nuts that hold down the hopper into the black hole known as my garage floor. I found one immediately, the other the next day. I now have a backup pair! Anyways, I snapped a few pics of the new vs old wipers. They don't do justice to how awful that old one looks! I just loaded up 150rds of 40 using AA2 and there is not a single powder granule to be found on my loading bench! YAAAYYYY!!!!  :woohoo: Remember to check your rubbers. It's for your safety!

I'm w/ Spiffy. On the positive side, since I'm barely watching the news or TV in general any more, I've had lots of time to load ammo! I use a turret press so it's not that fast, but I was on a roll making 300-500 rds a night in 9, 40, 38, 357, and 44 for almost two weeks straight! -
That's no fun. Sorry dude.

Ditto Superman. I'll be waitin' at the door.

Lol!! My favorite is the "specialty hand removal device", with "press for people, hold for planes" a close second!

I guess this guy at Fox had enough!!!!

Sam, I heard Michael say that the other day. Very interesting point. I am now torn on that issue. :/ -

I'm a youngun (31) but have been pretty involved in politics since I was a kid. Not many of my other middle school classmates were reading Rush Limbaugh's books like I was. My wife has only recently, like within the last 6 months. begun to wake up to what's going on around us. What's funny is that now that she's finally into it and getting worked up about stuff, I've reached a point where I am beginning to give up hope! I've quit listening to almost all political commentary and simply shake my head in disgust at what news I DO hear. We've completely swapped sides! LOL! Though I have to see, it's funny, exasperating, and sad watching democrats beginning to ask for a delay in the individual mandate now. -
I've gone through 3 of the Tulammo 100rd tubs. Got them at Academy for $28/ea a few months ago. They all shot fine, but left chunky, flaky black debris. Not my favorite stuff, but fine enough. I like the tub idea for ammo storage. It's easy to pick up rounds for loading and pretty space efficient. I saved them and use them for my reloads; wish I could get more! I haven't seen any more in my area for awhile.

2400 or 296/110 for me. AA9 sometimes. Sure, Titegroup will work, but it won't get anywhere NEAR the velocity you can with the real magnum powders. If all you're doing is paper punching, then no big deal. But if you actually want to shoot 44 Mag fot what it really IS, titegroup and all ghose other fast powders just aren't gunna cut it. Don't get me wrong, I load lots of 44 with TG, Clays, Bullseye, etc for easy shooting powder-puff loads, and sometimes using bullets as light as 180 grains. It's a great way to help a new shooter gain confidence and have fun. Then, when they get a little too cocky, it's always fun to drop a real hot 240gr near-max H110 load in the mix and show them the gun's real potential! I've been getting into Ramshot powders recently, too. I'm away from my personal load data right now, but I think it Silhouette was a really good powder for heavy 44 loads as well.

Man, things are rough in Knoxville! The Smyrna Academy has had Monarch brass fmj for $12.99/50 and hp for $15.99/50, and Winchester fmj for $16.99/50 pretty regularly. I posted in the Wally ammo thread last week that I found Federal fmj for $25/100. I hope things loosen up for you soon. :x:

Best of luck!!! About twice a year I play the lottery... I'll be buying gas, have a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket, and walk over to the man in the glass box and get a ticket or two. I did it last week and won $7. I'm up for the year now, by $4. :-) That'll pay almost half my entry at the gun show Saturday!

I'm looking for the best deal I can find on a complete upper minus BCG. I want a 16" flat top, heavy barrel (bull barrel would be fine, too) with a dual rail handguard, chrome lined chamber & bore. I plan on adding Magpul BUSs, and maybe their angled foregrip. I broke my left elbow joint when I was in high school and never regained full motion. Their angled foregrip looks it would be really comfy for me. A rdd dot will be further down the line. Once I get that AR built out, I'll be building a 20" varmint gun. I've been looking at all the standard sites: RockRiverArms, model1sales, PSA, JoeBob, etc. When in stock, they all seem about the same money. Any recommendations?

Had an interesting conversation with my mother this evening
musicman replied to mav's topic in General Chat
Lol! We broke a chunk out of the side lip that the boards rest on during one particularly exuberant romp. I used a monster thick Webster's dictionary and 2 issues of Road & Track to hold up that side for the next 3 years until we bought a new bed... with two steel braces down the middle! -
I prime while watching TV, and listen to tunes while I reload in the garage. I don't drink so that's not an issue for me. I do, however, not like distractions. Music has never been a distractor for me, but keeps me in a rhythm while loading. When wifey comes and wants to yak about something, she now knows to wait a second while I finish the round I'm working on. Then I stop, we chat (as quickly as possible!) and I shoo her out of my cave. :-)

 I'm more 6.8 than 173rd! I only have one closet full, and am working on a 6' cabinet now. A newer buddy of mine, w0lfattack here on TGO, is a very straightforward reloader: one powder, one bullet, one load per caliber. Just find one that works and simply make that over and over. I wish I could keep it that simple!! I think I have reloading ADHD... Sure, I have favorites, but I'm always trying new combinations. I have over 25 different powders on hand, and I ONLY load handgun stuff for 38/357, 9, 40, and 44! I have lots of bullet styles and weights for each caliber, except 9mm for now. For that I just have 115gr plated RN. 147gr Hornady XTPs, and 147gr HAPs. I would have more, but there aren't a lot of available 9mm options right now. I'm trying to be more consistent in my loading habits. I hand prime while watching TV and load on a Lee turret, so I'm no speed demon. I have about 3-5 gallons' worth of brass for each caliber in 5 g buckets. I used to jump around between each caliber 1-200 rounds at a time, but now I'm working toward focusing on one caliber until I've loaded everything I can, then on to the next. Then a range trip gets thrown in the mix and all that goes to pot! :surrender: I joked with wifey today that I want a Dillon setup so bad, but how would I occupy my time/afford it if I could load 4-500 rounds an hour! :stunned: That's about my WEEKLY goal right now!

I do! I went through a few cabinets of supplies and realized I had a lot of small quantities left of certain oddball weight/style bullets I had tried out over the years, and a number of nearly-empty cans of powder. I spent yesterday evening loading stuff up simply to clear out a bunch of those partials. Here are the results! That's a bunch of 44 Mag and 40 S&W. Then I re-organized my two cabinets of powder, primers, and bullets; it worked out perfectly since I added another caliber a couple weeks ago. I'll call it "fall cleaning" and it's the only kind of cleaning I like doing!! :pleased:
