Bummer dude! I dunno... I've always gotten my Midway orders within 3 days. :/
-
Thanks again, OS. Good info. Red, I checked out the rguns stuff. Is it bad that I want one of their nickel-boron coated uppers? I think that two tone look could be pretty sweet... or completely terrible! I'm on the fence about it... maybe I'll dig around to see pics of somebody else doing it, and see if it looks terribly stupid or not. ;-)

Oh, and I'm not going to be looking for minute-of-gnat accuracy or shooting heavy bullets, just the standard 55-62gr stuff... is a 1in7 twist all I need? I built an AR years ago but had to sell, and have since forgotten all the research and work I put into the darn thing. I'm lazy now and don't want to pore over it all again... that's why I have you guys, right?! :-D Also, I think I had a chrome-line bore last time... that being the most durable, IIRC. Is that right?

Oh Snap, Oh Shoot! Thanks for catching that! I do pretty much all my shopping on my phone now and miss some things like that every now and then! :/ That other kit looks like the one for me! AND cheaper! Dig it!! That'll buy me like what... 7 rounds of 5.56?! ;-) TGO dudes rule!

Ok, I'm about ready to get my LPK and buffer/stock for this build. I'm not too picky... just want a basic adjustable stock and trigger group. I prefer the nicer Hogue/Magpul style grips to that terrible hard plastic job you get with the $600 ARs. What's the best deal? I found this http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/psa-acs-l-lower-build-kit.html Whaddyou guys think? Maybe after a few more weeks I'll get my upper. I'm going to get a flat-top heavy barrel somethin' or other. We'll see what's out there later. :-)

Funny, the TGO clock hasn't fallen back yet. :-)

I dunno about that. There are so many variables between the types of guns, individual shooters, etc. I don't know that a blanket statement like "9 shoots better than 40" can be made with any confidence. What about an LC9 vs someone shooting a fullsize 40 like a Beretta 96? I have both calibers in a few platforms and can make pretty little cloverleaf groups fairly regularly with either in the fullsize guns. The compacts make me concentrate and focus a little more for the same results. I do think that a gun with less perceived recoil will be easier to acclimate to, especially for newer shooters; BUT I do NOT think it means one round is necessarily more accurate, in and of itself, than the other.

Yikes! I agree, I hate the aspect of most striker fired guns. That's part of the reason I reall like the M&P takedown... not only do you NOT pull the trigger, you have to have the gun locked open and cleared to pull the little internal takedown lever forward, making it VERY hard to have this accident. I don't really think you share blame on this. First, it's obvious by sight and feel when a gun has a loaded magazine in it. Second, it is a person's duty, EVERY time they pick up a gun, to either verify it is loaded or clear the weapon depending on what they are going to do with it. It is a sad event and it is right to feel sorry for him, but it is simply not your doing that he shot himself. Easier said than done though, I know.

They probably have 490 hats they need to unload! ;-) Good luck! Which item are you hoping for?

Heck, I paid $19.99 for two different pounds of powder at the Reloader's Bench three weeks ago, and $21/lb for some others at the gun show last weekend. Considering inflation, I'd say we're in pretty good shape today!

I've wondered the same thing, flyboy. I wonder what supply invesntories manufacturers have on hand, and what kind of bumps they (and then we!) will feel in transition. Just for the heck of it, I've got another bullet order inbound... no time like the present, eh?

I shoot all of 'em! ;-) For your next project, I commission you to make a 9/40/44! Just kiddin'!

Wow. Pretty nifty!! That's not even something I've ever thought of before, but it's awesome. Can't wait to see it in use!
-
Thanks Hozzie. That's how I've always know it to be. I never heard of a caliber distinction and didn't think there was any truth to it, but I didn't want to just blurt it out. I was curious to see if there was something I was missing. Thanks for clearing it up! :-) http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/01/24/dont-call-a-magazine-a-clip-we-spoke-with-an-ex-seal-about-the-difference-and-why-its-important/ Never thought I'd see a whole article devoted to this on theBlaze, but there it is! Cool to see Hickock45!

What about automotive?! C'mon, don't you want a brand-new beat up pickup just like the one Dad had when he taught you to drive? Haha! -
Silly question... why would a magazine be called a clip if it were for 22? I've never heard that caliber had anything to do with it.

Questions about 9mm load data...... discrepancy

Murfreesboro gun show. Guy from reloadingden.net or something like that always has some. The Reloader's Bench in Mt Juliet has it every now and then, too. -

You've got it all right except your cc to gr conversions. -

Gimme a couple minutes and I'll post pics of the data from the Lee book. I just started using zip in 9mm w 115gr fmjs... I think I was around 4-4.5gr or something like that. -

Haha! I get the point you're making Spiffy, but I have to chuckle a little... I make sought after luxury goods for a living. It's pretty amazing the flawed items many people happily pay full price for! I am constantly amazed at what makes it out to the public. Often I check our product out in the retail establishments and find all kinds of things many people may never see. Most end users will never know all of the imperfections their item has, but some will. However, as long as the customer is happy with their item or the mfgr corrects something not to their satisfaction, isn't that what matters in the end? -
Lol! Musta' been on my way to the tinkler!

Come to think of it, I think they're 30 cal cans, not 30mm... doh! I'm not a can expert, so I could be completely wrong, too! I do remember being pleasantly surprised at the metal and plastic ammo can prices at the Reloaders Bench a couple weeks ago... I seem to remember $12-15 for really good lookin' stuff. Earlier tjis year I bought some metal cans on eBay from Blackstar Surplus in Oklahoma... I got four 50 cal cans for $53 shipped! I thought that was pretty good for not even having to put on pants to go out and buy 'em. They also have a website where you can order directly, but I saved like $6 through their auction. Be careful, some lots were good deals, where others were over $25ea!! Also, they have them in all different conditions, so be sure you know what you are getting. Mine were AS described; no better, no worse. Good luck! Oh yea... back on topic.... wish I had a few hundred more dollars on me to spend at the show... there was plenty there to buy!
