Excellent post, RebelCowboy. I don't think it could be stated any more clearly than that. The show became popular on it's good-natured humor, moral value, and known Christian content. Discuss that, and get canned. :/
-
Yes, good to see liberal tolerance is still alive and well. Completely asinine. Every opinion counts, and stand up for what you believe... unless yours isn't popular. Then you get kicked off your own show.

Wwwhhaaaaa??!?!?! Craziness. My wife drives that every day to work and back. This is going to soundd bad/selfish but I hope that this was a targeted action for something he was involved in, and not just a random road shooting. I lost a high school friend to one of those on I-95 in Miami just a few weeks after graduation. Prayers for family and friends of his left behind. No idea what kind of stuff a person may be into, but now there are folks left without him. :-(

Joseg and refleks, thanks for the advice :) I really shouldn't have even gone out Saturday. I literally did all my shooting in 15 minutes. I crammed the range trip in between work and a social gathering, and was pretty ill-prepared. I was wwwaaayyyyy rushed... I don't even hardly remember taking time to control my breathing! The trigger blows... it's from a PSA kit. Heavy, a smidge of creep... maybe two smidges. I'll fool with it some more after New Year's. I'm sure I'll shrink those groups at least in half with a less rushed trip to the range. After that I'll decide what to fix/upgrade next; either the trigger or optic.

No Guns Involved...This Is Just Too Cool To Not Post It!
musicman replied to RobertNashville's topic in General Chat
My wife literally JUST made me watch it! I don't know what happened with their cameras, but things got a little blurry toward the end for me. ;-) I'm similar to 380. My request would have been a yellow 97-98 Ferrari F355 GTB. :-D -
Took mine to Hobson Pike today and all is well with the rifle. I only had a few minutes to shoot and put 35 rounds through it. No hiccups and all was smooth. I'm not used to red dots. I forgot to bring any binocs/spotting scope with me today, as I loaded the car at 5:30 this morning as I was getting ready for work. :/ I couldn't even tell what I was doing for about the first 10 rounds at 25 yds. The guy beside me was super nice and let me borrow his spotting scope for a couple minutes. I moved the dot up and right, which got me putting them in about an inch and a half to two inch groups centered around the bullseyes. I was pretty rushed and was not doing my best work, but that seems extra awful at just 25yds. I'm not a rifle expert, but I'm used to groups that size with my 270 at 100yds - better when I take my time and keep the barrel cool. What am I supposed to expect with a 3 MOA dot in a sight with no magnification? I've never had a red dot before, so I don't know what a reasonable expectation of accuracy would be with it. Any advice/tips would be appreciated!

That's the jist of it. They repaired my rifle, but then it didn't feel like "my" gun any more. Shortly after I came upon hard times and sold the gun. Nice to finally have another AR! And I don't feed UltraMax to anything I care about any more.

Word!! Sad that that's my claim to fame, huh?

I'm hoping to swing by the Hobson Pike range after getting off work around lunch time tomorrow. Can't wait to try it out and sight in the red dot!! Here is the most recent pic: I've since added a Tapco end plate w/sling attachment and got a basic Blackhawk single point sling. That thing is gunna get replaced soon after the new year.

Contrary to missing springs, I received an EXTRA spring in my PSA lower build kit. I can't remember which spring it was, at the moment.
-
Pssshhh.... it'll probably work fine. Shot a bunch of my Dad's old stuff with 79¢ price tags on it.... all went bang! :-)

Here's mine! I haven't had an AR in about 5 years, and I am SUPER excited to have one again! It's nothing awesome...just a PSA black friday upper and a crummy truglo 3 color dot. That's about all of the budget for now. As long as this red dot holds on and works, a buis set is next, and THEN a better optic.

Ordered my upper and accessories Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I have my rifle built beside me now. :-) Woulda' been sooner had UPS left me a tag the first time they tried to deliver. :/ Got one the 2nd try, and then had them hold it at the Massman Pike UPS hub for me to pick up Friday. Stopped at D&T tonight and now I'm in business!! Hope yours shows up soon!

Yikes. Very disappointing. I have had excellent service every time I called on S&W. In fact, I sent off two guns about a month ago. It took two days from first email to get my shipping label. Once I got that, it took me two days to drop it off to FedEx. Two weeks and one day after that I had them back in perfect working order. I hope you get the same treatment ASAP. I am a huge S&W fan, and I'm embarassed for them in this predicament, and frustrated that they are not taking care of this in the best fashion. Have you gotten the automated ping-back when you emailed customer service?
-
Oh snap! Yea... that'd be bad news for my marriage! :/ Have fun! I bet they chose their location just because of you! ;-)
-
PSA might be able to help you figure it out! ;-) They've got some pretty great new deals pretty much every day right now.

a partial shipment of gun parts?! Wifey told me a box from PSA came in today. I ordered a sweet 16" quad rail complete upper, optic, and punch set. The whole (hour long, thanks I-24) drive home I was dreaming about slapping that bad boy together and finally having an EBR in my hands again! I have a complete poly lower w/fixed stock hiding out in a drawer. This will eventually rest on a TGO lower. I tear up the driveway, burst through the door and tear into the awkwardly small (so I thought) box to find only my optic and punch set. Emoticons cannot fully capture the epic sad face, radiating sorrow and utter defeatedness I wore at that moment. Oh well. I'll pick up my TGO lower Saturday and feverishly await another visit from the brown truck of happiness to fulfill my dreams.
-
Yyyyyaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!! I've been working stupid late every day, so I'll have to wait til Saturday. :( Guess that's OK, as my final few parts for the build won't be here for at least another week. I seriously wanna see that pic of Smith surrounded by 'Murican goodness!!

(She's now safe at home) My 14-year-old daughter is missing
musicman replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Praying for her, you, and the family. I'm sorry. -
Got a few hundred rounds of Hornady 147gr XTP ammo for a good price. Ran a bunch through each gun without issue, so that's what I use for now. Maybe in a year or two, or when I find a good deal on a poop-load of some other defensive ammo, I'll move on to something else.

Put probably 75-80 rds through wifey's new-to-us shield 9 Sunday. Flawless function, and an amazingly comfy little pistol! Now I want one for me. :/

Christmas came early! Santa made a stop at Dillon on the way.

Awesome, dude!!! You're makin' me crazy jealous!! Congrats! -
Finally did it! Ordered my complete upper from PSA! http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/black-friday/ptac-16-1-9-a2-upper-w-yhm-diamond-rifle-rail-bcg-and-charging-handle.html I don't need the BCG.. it'll make two extra now, but I'll build more rifles later! I've got a virgin poly lower already built out that I may throw this on until our TGO lowers come in. I got a Magpul LBK from an earlier PSA deal that will finish out the TGO gun. I know that this isn't the best quality AR. I'm starting all over again with a small but growing amount of funding (somebody buy the PRS I have in the classifieds!) and am really just jonesing to have a working rifle again! Maybe next spring/ summer I'm planning to build a much nicer varmint style gun around the TGO lower and put this upper on something else. Man I miss having an EBR!!!!

125 or 158 grain lead bullets in a 357 lever action?
musicman replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
231 is HP38, one of the best powders around for 38. :-) -
Congrats!! I just got wifey a 9mm Shield, but SSHHHH!!!! Don't tell her, it's her Christmas present!
