Built both of mine, but if this causes the price of the Smiths to drop substantially, I'll add another.

I love Hornady's stuff! I choose it over others at almost every opportunity, both loaded and components. -

Ditto HiPower. It is sad that it has come to this point, but I appreciate everything you've done, especially the assistance you offered me. My Rockeye is a knife I'll always love, and I really hope it will have a matching Godfather before it's all over. Thank you Willis. -
Lowpower, where is the source for the $30-40 lowers? If the timing is right next time they're available, I'd like to get 1 or 9.
-
The cheapest brass 9 is usually $12.99 or $13.99/50. Sometimes there's steel monarch for $10.99/50.

Ditto super duty. If you're in a rush you're buying from the wrong place. If you can wait for a screamin' deal to come along, and then wait a few weeks to get it, PSA is your joint!

Gotcha.. thought you got GS components. Drat. I wish I could find them again... used to get them at the Reloader's Bench for barely more than the Zero cheapie JHPs. Whatcha workin' up on the 10s, Sybo? I've got to sort my 10 brass and then I'll be doing the same. What powders are you using? Bullet weight? I have a bunch of plated stuff now, tempted to try the falcoated stuff... may put in an order in a few weeks.

Awesome SAAMI test dispels fears about sporting ammo
musicman replied to BigK's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Sniff, sniff.... all that good ammo! I especially hated the part where they smooshed all that 44 with the tank! But yea, very informative. I always knew it wasn't that big of a deal to throw live ammo into a camp fire! -
Sup jriv! Where are you getting your golden sabers? I used to use them all the time in 40, but I just don't see them around all the time. What weight are you using in 9? I've only loaded RN so far in 9... time for some HPs!

At least I think so... nothing new in this subforum in awhile. So, has anyone tried a new brand of ammo recently? If so, why? Was it availability, price, or some other reason? I got my first few boxes from Freedom Munitions about a month ago. I got a new 10MM pistol and ammo for it is not plentiful or cheap at most retailers. From Freedom, I got new production 10MM shipped to my door for just a little more than 40 at WalMart or Academy. It's all good stuff, though not as hot as the stuff from Underwood, etc. I'll be buying more soon. What about you?

I'm in the same boat, but I'm guessing we're talking more than $300 for a set... if so, I'm probably not going to be able to join in soon. After the new year, probably. And I REALLY want to build an AR 10!

Wow! That's pretty fantastic! Sooper thin! As for the boot knife, I don't really have any measurements in mind or anything, just thinking generally about some kind of smaller blade that would pretty much disappear on a body. Not something that would get a lot of use, but would always be on your person. I was thinking that if the blade were not centered in the handle like normal, but maybe moved inward (to the left, for a right handed person) then it would present a more flat surface. Maybe even no grip panel on the left side at all? It really is all conjecture at this point, and I was curious if anyone else already had the thought. :)

You're killin' me, GT. First the ProTechs, now I'm drooling at everything you post. I'm afraid to ask... about what kind of ballpark are we talking in terms of you making something like the zombie blade? More, less, or close to what we're putting in towards the Godfather? I want a zombie blade with blue scales sumthin' awful, and I've never spent more than $20 on a fixed blade before! Oh, and that sheath looks awesome! I'd love to see a pic showing its thickness. Another crazy idea... (as I sit where all the crazy ideas are dreamed up, the porcelain throne) what about a boot knife and sheath, but the handle of the knife is thinner on the leg side, so it hugs up better for the wearer? Almost like a carry melt on a pistol, but only on the inside. Is that totally stupid, or already been done? Sorry if that's a dumb idea... the Rockeye was my first intro to nice blades, and I'm just starting to explore this (ANOTHER!) hobby.

Jump in fellas, extra time to get the cash in! That, and I really want more of these in the future! My birthday is actually Oct 15th, make my dreams come true... buy a TGO Godfather! Willis, I'm sure this is frustrating work for you. I hope you know that I, and many others, sincerely appreciate it. Many of us have no other chance at getting such sweet custom pieces, and your generosity in time and work to do this for us is really awesome. -
I have, and I'm a little pissed I didn't get an extra discount, seein' as how they used my name for their business! But seriously, they were great. I placed an order on a Sunday night and wasn't sure if they had the FFL I wanted to use on file... 15 minutes later I had a friendly email response stating they did. My items shipped Monday morning at some ridiculous time before lunch, I can't remember exactly. Thumbs up from me!

I had a 40VE and like everyone says, perfectly functioning gun, just a rough trigger. I had the trigger worked on and it was great after that! I'm now a dedicated M&P man, but sometimes I still miss the ol' 40VE. If I found a smokin' deal on one in 9 or 40 I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. I could always use another bug out bag pistol or 5. Different strokes for different folks. I'm just not a Ruger fan. I agree they are great guns and I respect the company... have a 10/22 and still want another GP100, but those are the ONLY things they make that I want. I say get whatever you like the most, or whatever you find the best deal on. :)

Hm. Interesting. I'll be following this for responses, as I'm about to start loading 10MM myself.

I'm with you, Buddy! ('cept my Shield) You're not alone!

I'm so stoked to see everyone else jumping on this! I can't wait to get this bad boy! -
I only have a Shield in 9, but I have in 40 an M&P compact, M&P full size, and 5" M&P Pro. I love them all. The full size was my first, then the Shield, then the Pro, then the compact. I shoot the Pro most often and use it for my attempts at IDPA and 3 Gun. However, I am most impressed by the Shield; it never ceases to amaze me how such a small gun can shoot so well, and it has the best trigger of the bunch. I wish Smith would just put that trigger in the rest of the M&P line! I am a fan, for sure. Excellent value, ergonomics, and style, IMHO. Someday I will APEX out most of my M&P family. Getcha one! Or four!

Yup! I have on guy in Antioch that shoots straight with me, the rest feed the most ridiculous lines of crap ever.
