  1. I'm a devoted M&P fan, and have 3 M&P 40s; compact, full size, and 5" Pro. I highly recommend them! All of mine are excellent shooters and have been nothing but perfect. I already have a bunch of 'em and that deal at Bud's even has me contemplating getting 1 or 2 more! One for each car, bug out bag, etc... I already have a bunch of mags for them, and a few more never hurts. I think they're great guns, and for me much more comfortable than any of the guns Glock has put out. Yes, I've tried every generation of Glockand many models... none of them vibe with me. Of course, everyone is different. Handle one of each and see what you like. (Then buy the Smith! Haha!)
  2. Haha! The way some of you folks talk about Antioch, I can't imagine what would happen if you were dropped in Compton, Liberty City, the Bronx, Detroit, south Boston, or some Chicago sewer. :-D
  3. Wow! W0lfattack gave me the heads up on those... we both mulled it over but decided to pass. We both already have plenty of similar guns, but it WAS tempting! I knew they wouldn't last, but didn't know they'd go THAT fast!
  4. I have a slightly different perspective on Antioch than some, I guess. I wouldn't want to move there now as compared to where I currently live. However, I grew up in N Miami, Fl and spent a lot of time in REALLY bad areas. I also lived on campus at Trevecca from 2001-2005 near Naiper, etc in s Nashville. If I couldn't live where I do, I don't think Antioch is worse than where I came from in Miami (3 separate kills on my street, 5 dead total while I was there) nor do I feel most of Antioch is as seedy as the area just northwest of Trevecca's campus on Murfreesboro Rd. It seems to me a middle ground, a step in the stairwell leading from the ghetto. It makes complete sense that some folks can't wait to get out to somewherez nicer, and others can't wait to move in, coming from what may be a turrble (read that in Charles Barkley's voice in your head) place.
  5. I can't wait!! I've been thumbing through my Protech catalog over and over every night like a 14yrd old with a Victoria's Secret catalog! Hahahaha!
  6. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?groupid=2140&name=Smith+%26+Wesson+Model+5906+TSW+9mm+Tactical+Handgun Discussion over. :-D
  7. Speaking of Memphis, how awesome is it that that beautiful city has played a part in the robbery? The truck used to break in was stolen from Memphis and driven here. It makes no sense to me. 5 guys steal a $40-50k truck from 3 hours away and use it to steal... eleven guns worth less than $15k??? There's got to be so much more to what's going on here. I had just visited that shop last week for the first time. I didn't make a purchase at the time, but the brothers who own/run it were very friendly and helpful and they had some great firearms in inventory. I wish them the best in recovery, repair, and future success. It's a place I will probably be buying from in the future.
  8. You're probably right. I refuse to spend a dollar on this thing, though! Haha!
  9. I got the impression that walker lady with the glasses was the preacher's wife. Remember him holding their picture towards the end of the episode? I'm guessing that's why he lost it in the pantry.
  10. Ok, since we were talking about it, I got the little heifer... I mean cow... I mean, Taurus out of it's prison to see if it was still acting up. Yep. Here's a little video so you can see what I'm talking about. Yea, yea... not supposed to dry fire a 22, I know. Whatever. I half expect the thing to fall apart anyway with how poorly it's built! Crummy Taurus PT22.: http://youtu.be/Zj8GwsRZO8w Since I got it out, I'll try to contact Taurus this week and request a call tag. I'll post up later if they get it fixed.
  11. CCI Quiets?  Plenty of oomph to get out of anything I've ever shot them in, to include a Single Six, P22, SR22, 10/22, Marlin 60, and Rem 597.    It's the Aguila Colibri or Super Colibri that I've had to be more careful with... though every one of those has made it out of all of that gun roster, except the 597.  I got rid of that thing before I ever had Aguila 22.
  12. Yup. I just manually cycle them in a Marlin 60.  Squirrels don't notice the difference between them and a standard 22, and my neighbors don't notice at all!
  13. Ditto Smith, though I like wheelies anyway!  :ugh:   Also, I feel there are more, better defensive bullet designs for 9mm readily available vs 38.   But still, there's something about a j frame!
  14. No, it's not 1 cent a round, and no it won't cycle your auto... but the squirrels in my backyard hate this stuff. ;) 'Bout 30 boxes left at the time of this post.
  15. Why not more discreet options like a boot knife or something?
  16. It's not mine to sell, unfortunately. It was a gift to wifey from her mom. If it were mine, I'd happily dump the thing for a box of WWB 9mm!
  17. http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=83&category=Pistol&toggle=&breadcrumbseries= This. Hate it. And I like the Beretta it copies. I'll probably have an M&P 22 compact at some point.
  18. In reference to the Taurus 22PLY. I hope it's better than the steel-framed piece of garbage my mother-in-law bought for my wife. Thing is an absolute turd. Bought it brand new, and sometimes the trigger resets, sometimes it doesn't. When that happens you have to kinda flick it forward to be able to shoot the stupid thing again. If I actually liked the gun at all, I'd go through the effort of calling Taurus and getting it fixed. Alas, it's sits in a junk drawer and is right at home there.
  19. Yer killin' me Smalls! I was JUST looking these up today!
  20. Notice he called it a 44? Am I crazy, or is it a 357?
  21. Yep, remember there was another episode (in Season 4 I think... or maybe 3?) where Carl and Rick had a run-in/meeting with him. He was in that town all by himself, and recounted how he didn't have the nads to pop his walker/wife, which ended up causing the death of his son. And yea, Jericho was awesome, and he was great in that, too. I keep trying to get other folks to watch that series. It's all on Netflix now.
  22. Haha! That sounds awesome! DO IT! Yea, the S80 isn't a corner carver, that's for sure! Transverse V8 mounted high and forward, as well as ... um... it's a giant Volvo sedan! That's why I said it enjoys the HIGHWAYS! :-)
  23. Spent 3 hours today making .40 ammo and listening to Dream Theater. Listened to most of Images and Words, the 20th anniversary live album, Octavarium, and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. It's amazing how much ammo you can make during just one song... when it's 42 minutes long! :-D
  24. Yup! They're incredible. I currently have a Volvo S80 V8 AWD. I call it my 140mph couch, as it's super comfy and loves to eat up the highways. I'd call an RS6 wagon a 190mph living room!
  25. Wow! I'm a total newb, a city boy, if you will. This summer I did my very first container gardening...some great successes and horrible failures! Haha! I'm definitely going to do some more next year. Great info here. And some new words I'm going to have to google! Ha! Welcome to the forum, too!
