Ok, where did the guy go with the 762x25 ammo and Tokarev go?

You got it, Broseph! ;-) -
Oh SNAP!!! IN!! Tanto! I'm so excited about this! Love the two-tone, and I'm super stoked that the logo is going to make it onto the knife! I thougt long and hard about messaging that idea to you this morning, but decided against it... just let it be, I told myself. Hahaha! You're too friggin' good at this. :-D I'm definitely in for at least one, #15 again please. As we get closer to the end, I may add another 1 or 2. I'm trying to balance this with an AR10 and glass purchase. ;-)

Yup. Like they say, it rolls downhill and I had eaten enough, and realized it wasn't going to change. Best of luck to her. Oh, and sweet knives! (Again)

Still in the classifieds, but sale pending now. Dvann, "Safe cleanout" or something is the post. Like 5th one down right now. -
Haha! I had some similar thoughts as I watched last night. Does anybody else get all excited when you see them using "your" guns on the show? I've been happy to see my 3913, M&P, M44 Mosin, and a couple of my shotguns make appearances. :-D

Gibsons. I worked there until August of this year. Bless your wife's heart. I couldn't imagine working where she does! Haha!

Sorry, I'm not TRYING to be a pain in the rumpus. I've never met Willis personally yet, but I figured as much of a knife lover as he is, he'd enjoy some other ideas and discussion about hashing out details on a custom run. I have a serious affliction for some other hobbies as well... heck, yesterday I spent almost two hours talking guns, reloading, cars, and guitars with a complete stranger while I was at A&H Reloading downtown. We shared all the things we wish Gibson would do properly with the Les Paul for almost half an hour alone. (Shout out to GlockDad23 if you're reading this!) Towards the tail end of the conversation we figured out we were fellow TGOers. My understanding was that this thread was about fleshing out design details for the next ProTech run. I surely hope I haven't been negative, as that is not my feeling or intent at all. I love these things! I do apologize though, I have very specific likes and dislikes and if I have the opportunity to voice them before a design is specified, I share them. My Momma always taught me to be clear and forthright when I wanted something. There's no harm in asking. She also taught me that most of the time the answer will be "No" and I'm OK with that, too. I hope that my comments/suggestions have not detracted from Willis' work on this. I think he knows (because I've told him at least a dozen times) that I really do appreciate all the work he's done for us in these knife buys, and I love the results.

This is cool. the Tuesday and Thursday nights are attractive to me. I'm way down in Smyrna but work in Nashville. The ability to just show up after work and shoot is very appealing. I look forward to more info! Silly question... Do you have to have a glock just to shoot gssf? (not worried about eligibility to rank or win prizes or anything, just wanna shoot)

This is probably asking too much, but what about doing a two tone blade? I just saw that on a TR1 in their catalog and it looks awesome!!

Cool beans. :-)

This is what I was thinking. But yes, Wileecoyote is right... nobody wants a dusty old nylon Uncle Mike's snap on holster!

Wow, 45... that thing is a beast! I'm suddenly more excited abiut the direction this is going. I know it can't happen, but how crazy would it be if there could be some way to work the logo into a cutout pattern like your scales? Like each side has a shiny aluminum frame and the black scale on top, but the TGO emblem is cut through the black to reveal the aluminum below. Too crazy, I know!

I still really want a runt, but I'm more than happy with this, too. And I like tanto blades. Probably 70% of my knives are tanto, and the profile on that one is killer awesome! In. Of course. But probably just for one. This one is more hightech looking... I wanted multiples of the runt when I thought it might be coming with wood scales. I'm itching for something really beautiful. Maybe I should go Newport or Half-breed... dunno why that standard grip and smaller blade looks so pretty to me.

I'm just the same. Guitars, guns, and now knives. Not as prevalent, but still there is my love of cars and saltwater reef tanks. I just have one nice (to me) car and no tank right now, as we are buckling down hard to have our house paid off by my 40th birthday, which is 8 years away. If I didn't have to feed a couple of my hobbies we could do that even faster, but there has to be some kind of balance between working for the future and enjoying today. We also blow too much money eating out. These are the pleasures we afford ourselves. We buy used cars and keep them for about 7 years, I do most maintenence on them. I don't think we're saving quite enough right now in IRAs, etc, but console myself with the fact that we're blowing our mortgage out of the water ASAP. Anywho, it was hard for me to figure out our balance of fun vs responsible. Thankfully, wifey is a saver... though I hate it because I'm a spender... and she's right. I was jobless for over a year in 2008-09. I learned a lot about needs vs wants, and had to let a lot of my favorite things go so we could continue things like... eating. Hobbies can be a problem, if not managed. It's not necessarily the addiction, but what happens when all the extra money we make goes to fun stuff, then an un-fun event pops up and we have no buffer. Anyways... if it can be afforded, you DO need just one more gun. ;-)

I'm in! I gotta think of something really cool. :) I'm cool with a soft limit. I'm thinking I may want to make a little group of nifty items.

Pistol powder is starting to trickle back
musicman replied to jaysouth's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Stopped at Franklin Gun Shop in a random outbreak of stupidity... Titegroup $30/lb, most other stuff $35/lb. That makes powder charges roughly 4-9 cents a round, depending on load and caliber! Geez! -
I'm not really a fan of his. Sure... I guess he's about an average republican, but I'm sick of average. They end up being McCain, Graham, and McConnell after 30 years or so in DC. It's those slimy, affable, middle of the road political gamesters that are more interested in kepping their own power rather than standing up and showing principle when the times comes. (Think McConnell and how he helped allow the passage of the ACA while claiming to have vehemently opposed it.) Do I think Haslam is already at that point? No. Do I see him there after a little more time in politics? Yep.

That's a bummer... I guess when I see engraving on wood it's generally CNC'd not laser engraved, huh? What about a black blade with the TGO circle and bullet holes on the blade itself? ... wait... just looked at it again, the scallop/blade profile kinda breaks up that area. Hmmm.... all black would leave lots of room on the handle and be a little cheaper... dang I want cocobolo, too! Hahahaha!! Whatever happens, I'm in. :-)
-
I may be in for a couple or three if funding and price meet by the payment deadline. One to carry, one to put away, and one more... ya know... because why not?! I also really like the idea of being able to get it with a plain or tanto blade. Variety is the spice of life... er some junk like that.
-
I hear ya, PS. That ran through my head too, just plain black with logo. I juzt couldn't shake the fact that it's flippin' gorgeous with a nice cocobolo or burl wood of some sort. I love the combination of modern metallurgy with beautiful, natural wood. I'm a sucker for fancy, I guess! :-) I gotta say... I'm more excited about this than either of the previous knives. I know many people don't like the blade style, but I would love this in a tanto. I completely understand if it doesn't go that direction, though.

I just peed a little.

YEEEEESSSSS!!!!!! This is exactly what I want next, but I wonder about the Tuxedo look on this one... the Godfather/son lends itself to the tuxedo beautifully. On the runt, though, I visualize it in black with cocobolo scales... maybe the same TGO logo as the Godson discreetly etched into the cocobolo, spaced evenly between the screws? What the heck, 97% sure I'm in regardless, but would greatly prefer a non-tuxedo look on this one. I know there's no way to predict pricing right now, but I assume this will be significantly less than the Godfather, and less than the Rockeye as well. I'm sure that will help me, and others, be able to jump in so soon after Christmas and right before valentine's day. :-)
-
Yup! My plan is to get a runt right after Christmas... I can't wait until a TGO runt in a year or two. "It's MY ProTech, and I want it NOOOW!" Isn't that what the commercial was about? Haha!
