  1. Ditto HiPower.
  2. Congrats! CZs are great. Good choice!
  3. Word. That new G40 or whatever has me a little tempted to join the Glock side... if I ever sell my soul it'll be for that!
  4. I didn't think of that, necessarily, but good point. I was thinking more along the lines of getting through car doors, interior walls, etc. Glad I already have the platform, now to just get the ammo! Do you have a 10MM, David? Just curious what you'd pick from the fairly limited field.
  5. .... speechless .... Must. Get. This. Ammo. I just shot my 10 a little today, and enjoyed the extra snort of the Hornady defensive stuff over the vanilla fmj 10 ammo I was shooting. I have yet to try the underwood stuff, but it's on my short list. It seems when I have money they're out of stock, and when they're in stock, I'm broke. This ammo will be mine... oh yes! It WILL be mine!
  6. Awesomeness! Super stoked for you and Dad. :-)
  7. Whew! Congrats! :-D Almost feels like getting something new when something lost is found again.
  8. Ditto, fellas. I'll be excited for something new in the fall, but am rebuilding the fundage from the twin runts to hopefully get back to gun stuff for the spring/summer. :-)
  9. Looks like that could be painful. Lots of sharp points on that band!
  10. Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight (Rock In Rio …: http://youtu.be/21gYohM-Cz8 Bring it!
  11. Right on... you hear that, fellas?! Buy your guns this spring and summer, cuz when fall comes around it's knife time again! :-) Thanks for all you do for us, Willis!
  12. I don't want a single stack 10MM. I have a 44 mag for high power/low capacity. For me, a 10MM has to be about power AND capacity. Love my Witness Elite Match 10MM. I'd think about a G40 if someone offered extended capacity mags for it. If I were to get a single stack 10MM, it'd be something like a DW 1911.
  13. I'm 90% in. I just got an M&P10 before Christmas, but that's just a good reason to build it a brother!
  14. That's got to be the most quiet way to shoot your guns. Good work!
  15. I am a Glock hater. I may one day one a G40. That is all.
  16. I've found the brassmax ammo to be perfectly reliable, and the brass is fine for reloading. However, I do notice that the ammo is quite dirty, leaving large flakes and chunks all over the bench after just a magazine or two of shooting. If I were planning on an extra long shooting session or an IDPA match or something, I'd probably choose something else just to reduce the risk of fouling my gun and causing it not to run 100%. I haven't experienced any function issues with it, but I have also never shot more than one tub of it in a session and even that is usually split between a few guns.
  17. Exactly my thought. And then possibly get hit with a higher rate at renewal, depending on how the insurance company rates that kind of claim. :/ Stinks. Sorry man.
  18. Yep.. I've met a few manatees. Though they all have terrible gas and are unpleasant to the olfactaries, they seem a nice bunch. Not like that turdsack.
  19. Haha! That's cool. :-) Sounds like a smart lady, and one that keeps you on your toes!
  20. I'm all about pushing something til it breaks; both for the torture testing AND just for the fun of blowing something up. If someone has the cash, I say go for it. I regularly buy cheap guitars and get donated/cheap electronics just to shoot/destroy. It's a hoot! If I get to the point where I have enough money to torture test guns and ammo like that, I'd do it, too! :-D
  21. I like having a buttload of AR mags ready. I like SHOOTING at the range, not loading mags. I can spend time watching TV at home loading mags any day. I only get to shoot every now and then. Whenever it's range time, I generally just grab 8-12 loaded mags from the mag bag and rock on! Same with my M&Ps. It's nice that I'm to the point now where I can shoot an IDPA match and not have to reload a mag. :-) On another note, as a dude who has had an AR blown up by factory reman .223, I'd say it's not worth trying to save $30/thousand and just buy new stuff. Not that that is a fail-safe, but I've bought thousands of rounds of factory new 223 without a hitch. Then, I try to save a buck and buy 200rd of reman and BOOM! Not good odds for me. :/
  22. All I'm gunna say is this... it was awesome, and you will not be disappointed. It was very humbling for me, being a pansy civilian who cannot fathom the weighty decision making and bravery that people like Chris Kyle and many others show. Though it was great, I didn't feel all pumped up and excited like after an action movie. The story of the Chris Kyle family is heavy, tragic, and just plain heartbreaking.
  23. Praying that you and your Dad get some time together soon, and that you both get to share what's on your heart.
  24. I see it often on the shelf at my Academy in Smyrna, usually just a couple boxes of Remington.
  25. Caliber? Bullet weight? I've shot a fair bit of Fiocchi 9, 40, and 38 with nary a hitch.
