  1. When I clicked this thread I thought it was just going to be a pic of Ringo Starr.
  2. DOOOOOO IIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!! I vote GP100. I had a 6" stainless GP and miss it dearly. Imho, if you're buying a 357 for the fun of reloading, I don't think there's a better choice. I can't think of a tougher 357, ready to take years of abuse with flaming hot magnums. I'm not saying the SP101 can't take it, too, but the GP is much easier in terms of handling recoil. I further vote 6", to make the most velocity! Get you a bucket of 158gr or 125gr jacketed bullets and aa9, h110/296, or 2400 and go to town! Pure bliss.
  3. Saw that, too. Has me very tempted to increase the size of the herd, but we go on vacation next week. It'd be nice to be able to eat while we're away, lol!
  4. Not gunna lie, that's genius!
  5. Shoots fine in my M&P10. It's a brand new gun and I suck at shooting rifles... not sure if I've properly zeroed my scope yet either, but I'm pretty easily inside of 2" groups at 100 yds with the 308.
  6. I won't say that revolver ammo is EASIER, but more FLEXIBLE. You only have two requirements: get the bullet out of the barrel, and don't blow up the gun. No cycling, etc to worry about. I don't feel there's any difference in the actual work of making auto vs revolver rounds.
  7. I'm not familiar with Power Pistol as a powder. Is it a larger flake type powder? Powder granule size is another factor when trying to throw consistent and small charges of a given powder. I use the Lee Pro Auto disc powder measure and generally get great results, except when trying to use larger flake or disk powders in 9/38, etc. Specifically, I don't use 800x, Clays, and to some extent Unique when the load calls for less than 6 or so grains. As the powder charge grows, the inconsistencies aren't as great/obvious or dangerous. This is my experience, and take it with a grain (ha!) of salt. I have found myself falling in love with all of the AA pistol powders (2,5,7,9) as they are super consistent, small spherical powders that measure absolutely flawlessly. I still have lots of other stuff and continue to use them, but I'll buy AA powders whenever they're available above the others now because they have been so easy to use for me.
  8. Aaaaaaannnnndddd OOS! HA! Oh well, I was gunna send the link to a neighbor who really wants an AR. Oh well :-)
  9. I can't remember if it was on the boxoftruth or another site, but after a bunch of testing it all boiled down to that brown box military 12g 00 being mediocre at best... like any cheap 12g 00 from Wolf, Remington, Rio, etc. I have shot some and agree, though my shooting was informal and with no measured way to compare it to the other stuff I feed my guns. I'm much happier when I find 25rd boxes of 00 for under $10... like when PSA had it for $6.99. Heck, I buy the Spartan stuff at Academy for $12.99/25. Just over 50 cents/rd and runs like poop through a goose in my 930, like everything else. :-)
  10. Wow! I'm super glad to hear things have worked out so well, given the events that have transpired. My Dad just had a similar event 2 months ago and is doing really well. I hope you have the same or better recovery. Though I guess there's not much we can do for you from here, please let us know if there IS anything we can help with!
  11. Glad I got while the gettin' was good. As always, wish I got more, but the wifey's always complaining about stupid stuff like "food" and "mortgage." I don't really know what she means... I just nod like I know what she's saying. Seems to shut her up for awhile.
  12. I'd be down another time, but for me this is a bad week. :-(
  13. I watched it. Meh. Disappointing. It looked like a warm-up. Not even a drop of blood for 36 minutes and $400 million? Sheesh. Yea, I've heard three people so far say they had never heard of Pacquiao... and about a dozen people gasp and give them that "From under what rock did you just crawl out?!" look of bewilderment. Lol!
  14. I'm in the back yard piddlin' with my garden! :-D Glad you had fun!
  15. Don't look back; you can never look back.
  16. Our house was built in 2006 with a supposed 30yr shingle. Well, we started losing shingles and seeing lots of them start to curl and wrinkle about 2 yrs ago (only about 7 years old at the time!) We're proactive in the home maintenance department and decided to have it repaired before we had a leak or any other interior damage. We filed a claim after a storm came through and blew about 20 more shingles off and decided to go metal. We ended up forking out an additional $3.5k out of pocket, but it was totally worth it. They didn't do a perfect job visually (some lines aren't just right, some corners a littlw wavy) but functionally perfect. Not a leak, our electric bills are less in the summer due to the way the roof vents, I believe. Winter bills seem about the same. I like the sound in a heavy storm... reminds me of the aluminum awning over my bedroom window in Miami when I was a kid. So far we're the only one in our neighborhood, but many folks have commented that when it's time for them, they want to do the same. Enjoy yours!
  17. Good Guys: 2, Bad Guys: .5 (? Not sure how to count an injury) Maybe if we can bring all the nutjobs out of the woodwork like this where they can identify themselves plainly we can at least clean house a little. Wait... is that insensitive? ... whatever. Hope the officer makes a full and complete recovery quickly.

    Which Ruger?

Wow! Great match! Thanks for posting!
  19. That's awesome. Yea, I wish there was that much common sense around these days. :/ My parents were not gun people (not anti, just didn't have them.) but we had BB guns and I was in the backyard shooting lizards and soda cans almost every day from 10-16yrs old. Dad got a big "STOP" sign out of a junk pile somewhere and hung it on the back fence of our property. I'd sit on the back porch and shoot it... needed quite a lot of holdover to hit it! Since I've become a gun nut my parents now strongly believe in gun rights, whereas before they were kind of indifferent. My Dad got his M&P40 before I did! Hahaha!
  20. Hahaha!!! I see what you did there!
  21. Cabela's in Bowling Green had a big pile of Thunderbolts for $2.99/box today, if you can stand to shoot that crap. Wifey and I got 4 boxes of CCI Quiet, my preferred squirrel medicine. They also had a mountain of Stingers for $7.99/box and 2 or 3 other options. Also, surprisingly low prices on 10MM, with a wide selection. They had 3 defensive loads and the standard Remmy green and white box fmj. I got a box of 20 170gr HP PMC stuff to try out for $17.99. Less than $1/rd for HP 10MM is the cheapest I've ever seen in a brick and mortar shop.
  22. I've personally never seen a gunbuster at any church I've visited, to include churches in KS, MO, FL, ME, DE, NH, MA, MD, and probably some others. I don't recommend anyone try something at my church. I know where the SD9 sits, the fullsize M&P40 with crimson trace laser sits, the J frame sits, the Sig 938 sits, the PX4 sits, and the Shield plays bass guitar. There are probably more. From the sound booth to the stage, the classrooms to the halls, we are not an unprotected flock.

    Which Ruger?

That's beautimous! And gorgeous grips! Having spent a couple years building sweet guitars, I've come to really appreciate nicely grained/colored woods. Those grips look really nice for factory pieces. Would you mind posting a pic of the other side, too? I'm always curious to see if grips match, haha!
  24. Sweet! I got my 10 from Bud's. It wasn't a steal, but a fair price. The best part was I saw it go down almost $40 the next week, and noticed that little price guarantee icon on their site... looked into it and less than a week later I had the difference credited to my debit card! I was a happy feller!
