Amusement tax... in my own home?! Stupid clowns. What happens if one of those crazy liberal democrats finds out making whoopie is fun?! It's taxing enough gettin' wifey to give it up half the time.

Meh. I've never desired a gun made of unobtanium yet, not have I had the funds to buy a super expensive gun at a crazy low price (ie: like a $2k gun for $1.5k or something like that) Most of my buys are under $500 so the savings is usually in the $50-100 range for a FTF buy. The furthest I've driven for a buy so far is about 25 miles/30 minutes, and that's good enough for me. If I can make a little day trip or have some other pressing reason to drive to BFE and can work a buy into the journey I guess that might be ok. I'm spoiled. I live in a quiet neighborhood, less than 2 miles from 3 grocery stores, my doctor, church (3 miles to church), restaurants, movie theater, hardware stores, and Academy. Work is a 15-20 minute drive, and that's about as far as I need to go on a regular basis. I get my panties in a wad if I have to drive any further than that, these days.

Very cool!

Yep, them's be the peeps that make 'em. Subpar sruff for the money, imho. The $10 knives are fine for $10 knives, but the $40 knives just feel like more tacticool... $10 knives. :/
-
I should add... though I love S&W, the knives sold under their brand generally disappoint me. There is a huge assortment of them at Academy and I feel like their $40 knives are like any other brand's $15-20 knife. It's just licensing money. I bought a couple cuz I'm a Smith nut, but they just don't last. Some of their more expensive knives are OK, but then you could have a Protech... no question in my book.

Sooo.... ditto all of the above, really. I also fall back to Kershaw when not carrying a Protech. I have probably 15 Kershaws between $25-$50, but by far my favorite is this:http://kershawguy.com/products-page/kershaw-blems/1670tstbw-black-washed-tanto-blur-blem/ I happened to toss that one in my pocket this morning... wanted something different today as I've had the TGO Runts in my pocket nonstop for a couple weeks. That Kershaw Blur is just the perfect size for me. Nicely weighted, great blade, and very comfy to hold. I love the little grippy inserts in the scales. I've had it for maybe two years and it shows wear, but it's still in perfect condition for use. I got mine as a blem as well but from a different vendor. The only reason I can see for it being a blem is just that they marked it as such! Just take yourself a couple or 3 $20 bills, head to Academy and buy whatever looks cool to you. You'll start to use it and find things you like and don't like... then you'll get another one. And another. Soon you'll be jumping in on every TGO Protech Willis posts up!

Haha! I get his point, being super familiar with your guns and not having to worry about which piece and protocol you have to follow with whatever gun you have that day. Come to think of it, my collection reflects that philosophy, as all of my firearms are made up of two platforms: long guns and hand guns! :-)
-
Hahaha!!! YESSSS! That. Exactly!

Quite a few differences in the details betwixt the pair. The Match has a full 5" pipe, I think the other is 4.5" or 4.75". Sights, trigger, hammer, etc are all different. This new (older) gun is a real steel frame I believe. The match is aluminum. Though the match is the longer gun, the steel frame makes the shorter gun heavier overall. I bet it may shoot even more softly. It also has 3 dot sights, which I prefer to the all-black sights on the match. Unfortunately I have a busy weeks ahead. It'll probably be mid-July before I get to shoot them side by side. :/

I heard that. That's one thing I try to watch closely... don't like making folks angry. A few weeks ago I was just playing close attention to where my 10MM was landing, and surveying the area after every couple mags as the stuff was often landing 3-4 lanes away. One dude got mad saying I was taking his 45. I grinned and showed him my handful of hot 10. He picked one up, looked at it and sheepishly said "Oh, sorry!... Here." He went through the little pile he was collecting and handed my a few of MY 10s he had snagged! Haha! We were cool after that and I pushed his brass towards him, and he watched closely for any more of my 10. :-)

Sooooo.... I really love the EAA Witness Elite Match I got last fall. Today a similar older model popped up on a facebook group for trade. Came with 3 mags, already upgraded wolff springs (like I put in my current model) AND a Lee Pro 1000 press mounted to a small bench set up to run 10MM, with a pile of brass and a box of Hornady XTP ammo. He was looking for an AR and I offered up my poly lowered PSA/PTAC15, some PMAGS and ammo. Deal. I'm happy as a clam. It's in great shape. It's a kinda parkerized blued/black finish that shows EVERYTHING, so it doesn't look pristine, but it's perfect internally. It's not as nicely finished as the Elite Match. The trigger is different, and not as crisp and light. This is just a basic, full size Witness model. It does have the proper slide and frame to handle 10MM, not like the "wonder finish" stuff that can't take the beating. I'll snap a family pic in a few minutes. Some people think it's nuts to have multiple same/similar guns. I'm not one of those people. I have 3 M&P 40s! I like having a lot of spare mags (at 19 now for the 40 M&Ps) and having a similar platform in each vehicle. My wifey has taken to really liking the 10MM, so now we don't have to fight over taking turns with them... just dump a pile of mags on the bench and each of us grab a pistol!
-
I got another 10MM today, too! Yay for 10! :-D
-
For sure. Somehow I always seem to leave the range with a little more spent brass than I brought in as loaded ammo. :/ The sweepers there are overly efficient, I guess.
-
Cool beans. I like both brands well enough. I hope this works out well for everyone involved.
-
To add: there is a big difference between most readily available 10mm (essentially 40+p) and the full power stuff from the more boutique manufacturers. Thanks, Delta Elite. :/
-
Yes. Get it. Now. But seriously, real 10mm ammo from Buffalo Bore, Doubletap, Underwood, and a couple others is no joke. Great hiking gun and great capacity vs revolvers. Don't misunderstand me, I love revolvers too and have a Smith 357, 44, 38, etc. However, those are range toys for me now and too heavy for the amount of firepower they carry vs something like a G29. I'm no Glock fan either, but they really are the only company making a solid, compact(ish) 10MM with real capacity. I personally have a full size EAA Witness Elite Match 10MM and love it. However, thei smaller framed 10MM designs are known to have durability concerns. For that reason I wouldn't be against the Glock. At the price and condition, you can't go wrong. If you don't like it you won't lose money, for sure.

Thank you, Bigtruuck and Buck! PMs sent. My friend works for the company that has commissioned the piece. He only has instructions for one right now. I appreciate everyone's opinion of what did or did not happen and who they think was or was not involved. However, my friend's position is not one of deciding WHAT or how many should or should not be made, he is simply trying to carry out the task professionally and to the best of his abilities. We both appreciate any help offered.

Hey fellas, I have a friend who is making something (sorry, I can't say what it is yet) to give to Robert O'Neill and he wants to incorporate spent shell casings and maybe some slugs into the design. I'm looking for your help in figuring/guessing what calibers of weapons he would have been using either on that mission, or just in general for a member of SEAL Team 6. We're also looking for at least 4 spent .50BMG cases, preferably of a headstamp in use by the military. I ask specifically because there are a few uses where the diameter of the 50 case will be perfect. I have spent LC 5.56 cases, and would also like some spent 7.62x51 LC if anyone has some. Do SEALS carry .45s? I have some commercial headstamp 45, but I also believe there is a Lake City headstamp for 45 and would like some of those as well. Looking for just 4 to 6 cases of each type. I can meet in S Nashville to Murfreesboro after 4 pm weeknights or any time on the weekends. I have a fair amount of popular handgun auto brass and would be happy trade a sandwich baggie of your preferred caliber for just a few of these rounds we're looking for. Thanks in advance for your input!

Our vendor Guns & More was selling them for $369 fairly recently, with or without safety. If course, that way over in Smyrna. Best of luck... I love mine, and will probably add a second later on.

Shoot SUPPRESSED ARs for FREE!

Sounds like an awesome event, and definitely educational for us EBR builders! Wish I was going to be in Knoxville that weekend. Super cool of you guys to hold an event like this. -
Completely agree. When I figured out how much I liked it, and how economical it was I got all I could next time DLM37015 had it in stock. Got one shelf 2/3 full of #5 alone! BTW, still rockin' the snot out of that 40 Pro! It's my #1 burner of AA5! :-)
