  1. Oh, my bad! Anyways, a big thanks to Bill!! I met up with him today and picked up the powder and manuals. THANKS!!!! Super generous of you!
  2. Hey Neero, I've got some 7mm Rem Mag ammo. (4 boxes, I think) I was planning on keeping it, but I need $$ BAD. When I get home I can give youth the specifics on it and maybe we can work something out, if you want. I think it's 3 boxes of Winchester stuff, and one box of Remington.

    22 mag

22 mags are MUCH louder than 22s, just to warn you! Usually the muzzle flash is pretty extreme, too. Well, I don't think 22 mag is a very good defense round at all, when compared to 38/9mm through 44/45acp. HOWEVER, as the saying goes, a 22 in the pocket beats crying for help. It sounds as if it will be the 22mag or nothing for your wife, so I vote 22 mag! No sense in settling on something bigger, then she's uncomfortable with it and never carries, or is afraid to actually use it when she needs to. All banter aside, get her something she'll actually use, carry, and practice with. I'm lucky in that my wife loves her model 19 and is OK with full house 357s out of it.
  4. What the heck?! All I wanted to do was post the smiley, and I get this error message: The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 5 characters. Crazy!
  5. Wouldn't the cylinder get in the way of putting the sights on the side? The 629 is, yes. Shooting it with the same exact load, back to back with a similar 6" 629 w/o the port, the difference in rise is noticeable. That and I traded two TOTAL beater guns straight up for it. I'm happy, even if it isn't traditional and blued! Does that help make up for my indiscrestion? Sorry for the hi-jack! I can turn anything into a way to show off a nice 19!
  6. SWEET!!!! Thanks! (Currently peeing pants!)
  7. But you can't put these... on this! (That's my PC 629.... yea, I'm a wheelgunner and proud!)
  8. I could be totally wrong and just talking out my butt... what do I know?! To me that just seems to be the way things go.
  9. My guess is never. If lead and copper dropped to a penny a pound, the mfgrs already have us used to paying through the nose for ammo. Prices on stuff never seem to drop, we just get used to paying more and it stays that way.
  10. And I can help with that part!! But seriously, Don, I've got a buddy that lives about 10 minutes away and we can go shooting there. I'm in Smyrna as well and would love to go shooting with someone who has an AK! (Haven't had the chance to shoot one yet!)
  11. Sucks that we now think $7/box is GOOD for 9mm:cry:!
  12. I don't see anything wrong with building your own first rifle. I did, and it's still the only AR I have. I did have one little problem, and doublestar made it right ... quick. I bought their complete upper kit and it comes headspaced already, so no problems there.
  13. Hope whatever they're making you do goes well and you stay safe. I'll be looking forward to this event whenever it happens! = )
  14. What caliber is the gun in? I LOVE my Marlin 1894 in 357 Mag/38 Spcl!!! Took me about two boxes of ammo to get proficient at quickly working the lever and keeping the sights lined up. You'll LOVE it! 357 is my favorite caliber, so of course, I would vote that you go 357 as well. =) If you handload, a max load of H110 under a 125 or 158 gr jhp works up QUITE a lot of force! With all that extra barrel (vs. a handgun) regular loads pick up a LOT of velocity. Even your 38s come out like 357s from a rifle. I can't say enough good things about leverguns. GET IT!!!!!! = )
  15. Congrats!! great guns, those Buckmarks.
  16. It simply would not feed properly in my AR. I also had major problems with Wolf. My gun is too freakin' picky, and will not run right with anything but good brass cases. Even the Monarch brass stuff caused problems. My friend's AR shoots all that stuff just fine, and our guns are nearly identical. (We both built our out of DoubleStar kits.)
  17. Wow... the closet gun shop? Hm... I guess it just figures with a name like Gun and LEATHER! Sorry, couldn't resist!
  18. I dig the Kobra too, but it'll be a decade before I can buy that! I hope to have my DW Cmdr Bobtail by the end of next year.
  19. The sights on that thing look HUGE. Like their other guns, it looks kind of awkward and lumpy. (Like me!) Hm.... while reliable, I've not been a huge fan of the Ruger bottom-feeders. It's funny that you mentioned the Kimber. I was just thinking about that gun the other day, wondering when I was ever going to see one. Guess I know now!
  20. 1911 condition 1, or Revolver. I don't have a 1911 of my own yet, but have lots of practice with friends' guns, so i would fell comfortable with one. At this point I am carrying revolvers all the time and am happy with them.... Food for thought: Who needs a safety when the 4 rules of gun handling are in place?
  21. Can't believe this isn't already up!! This has got to be THE most useless gun anywhere. Perfect for bothering gnats on a slow day... that's about it. While it's totally stupid, I, of course, want one anyway. Thanks to some of our laws, we cannot get them in the US. Oh to be Canadian! (not!!!) http://www.swissminigun.com/home.html
  22. totally love that last one!

    s & w revolver

I don't know the model #s on the airweights. Is it not stamped on the frame, behind the crane? Check out smith-wessonforum.com for the best info on S&Ws.
