  1. Here's 3 pages on that very subject from my other haunt, the S&W forum's reloading section. Check it out! http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/570103904/m/7941015552
  2. Hey Greg, I've got probably 1,000 9mm cases if you want 'em. It looks like you're about an hour and a half away from me. If you're anywhere near Smyrna in the near future, I'd be glad to give them to you. If you would like me to ship them to you, I'll have to ask for a little $ to cover the expense. I really wish I could just ship them to you for free, but I am in a really rough spot. I've sold 4 guns in the last two months! Just let me know if I can help.
  3. Bummer dude! I got our reservation for 12 people (I'm optimistic!) at 7:00 PM. My cell is 615 423 5522 if anyone gets lost or can't find our table or anything, and my name is James. See ya.
  4. OK, so who's confirmed as of now? Tungsten, you comin'? I count 7 so far that say they'll be there.
  5. Dang, first again! I understand, however, if you would like to give it to someone else, as I already got some freebies from you. (Which I appreciate very much!! I shot up a few hundred grains of that Titegroup you gave me this weekend!)
  6. Excellent, I got one too... kinda' weirded me out.
  7. You guys are a gas! No..... really....
  8. I bet that ruined his day!!
  9. Spot on, Molonlabetn, spot on.
  10. Cool! Looks like 6 of us (including wives) so far confirmed. I'm stoked!
  11. That would be AWESOME!! My wife would probably come if yours came. She doesn't like being the only girl, even though she can hold her own when it comes to guns! She's got a nickle 4" S&W 19, and she keeps it loaded with 357s! not wimpy 38+ps! We're also really close in age (I'm 25, Kelley is 24) so that would be cool.
  12. No, a Saturday shoot sounds great! YOU pick a date for that and "stick by your guns" for that one, too! If it were a day I could make it, I'd be there, too! Alright, if we get four people here who think they'll be able to make it, it'll be official! Nov 20th, 7pm @ Picadilly.
  13. Picadilly is on Murfreesboro road south of nashville, about a mile down from 24/40 and Spence lane. It's on the east side of Mboro road. So do we have three possible so far? Me, Molonlabetn, and jcoyle? I'm not trying to exclude anyone (especially you, tungsten) but if we don't pick on and just do it, it seems like it won't happen. Does that make sense? I was in a reef club (not reefer! saltwater tanks!) and it was impossible to get everyone together all the time, even the officers, but we just made a schedule and stuck with it anyways.
  14. I won't be able to make the Saturday after Thanksgiving as I'll still be in KY with the family of my lovely bride of 5 months. It sure is tough setting meetings anymore. It just seems like everybody has gotten so busy in the last year or so. Is it just me or is it getting worse for everybody?
  15. Well, I know I am a total unknown to all you guys, but if you wanted to give a go at meeting up at Picadilly on the night of the 20th, say 6:30 or 7pm until ? I'll call and check the Dilly to reserve a room/corner for us. I'll also set up a little bit of meet and greet type stuff so us noobs (me!) don't feel left out. Everyone who would be in for showing up on the 20th, chime in we'll get 'er done! Feel free to e-mail me or call me on my celly at 615 423 5522. Please post here if you are going to try andf make it. Tungsten: would it be possible to also post a link to this thread somewhere else to maybe get the attention of folks in the area who may not be browsing this particular thread?

  17. Bummer... wanna get our own group together? I'll show up! How 'bout meeting at some restaurant somewhere between Nasvhille and Murfreesboro, as that seems to be where most of us who are interested live?
  18. I built mine from a Stag stripped lower and a Doublestar complete 20" chrome-lined HB kit. It would have been a lot easier if I had just got my directions from AR15.com to start with, instead of buying that stupid ar/m16 manual everybody tries to sell for $3 at the gunshows. After trying to figure out what the heck that book was saying and putting thing together in the wrong order and have to backtrack, I ran upstairs, found the ar15 instruction guide, and 30 mins later I had a rifle, not just parts! My only after-build issue was the fact that Doublestar neglected to put the ejector pin in my bolt. My first round fired was so cool! It was the first time I ever shot an AR, and it was MINE! The second trigger pull resulted in a pathetic "click".... I was sure I broke something. The helpful (usually) guys at On Target helpd take it down and inspect it, and Shaun (sp?) saw the missing ejector pin. "Well there's your problem!" A call to DS got that fixed, as they sent me a new bolt fully intact. Wolf does not like my gun and vice versa. I know most people say it's all hogwash, but I swear to you that stuff locks my gun up faster than anything. I had to use a wood block and hammer to get a round out once! I think it's the lacquer not liking my chamber. If it works for you, great. Don't shoot Ultramax remanufactured ammo, either! Here's my gun before Ultramax... Here it is after Ultramax.... UM DID replace the upper with all Bushmaster stuff, so that was cool. However, I was without a gun for 7 weeks. Thankfully I nor anyone else was not hurt, as that was a nasty KB and could have been much worse.
  19. Hmm... looks interesting. Would it be OK for me to try and make this? I never knew about the TFA. I just made a registration on their site, and am waiting on approval. Looks like their site is kinda' dead, though. A few of the forums have their most recent posts a few months ago! What gives?
  20. http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi/catalog/browse.cgi?1194974673.2847=/html/catalog/rlpress2.html#DeluxeTurretPressKit This is what I started with, and it's what I still use. The only upgrade I made was getting a Pro Auto Disk powder measure. It's a few dollars more than the non-turret kit and definitely worth it, I think. The ability to drop a 4 die plate into the turret and go is just great. I actually just use 3 die plates, but I split up my reloading process different than some, and I prime my cases using the handheld Lee Auto Prime tool. Lee's Modern Reloading book is the best, cheapest, nost comprehensive manual you'll find, especially if you use Lee products. If not, a lot of the book is a waste because he thoroughly explains how all his tools work in it. Until you're ready to commit big bucks to a blue (Dillon) machine, Lee is the way to go! For the micrometer, horbor freight usually has some kind of sale on them. I got my 6" micrometer for $4.00!! For revolver rounds with crimp grooves in the bullets the micrometer is no so important, but for your auto feeders that operate in high pressure territories (like .40) they are a MUST!! Have un and let us know how we can help!
  21. Hey Mug, I understand! Well, I'll throw this out anyway, I bought this ammo about a year ago when I thought I was gunna be able to get a 7mm Mag rifle, then I started a business! Byebye money for new guns!! What I've got is one box of Remington Express 175gr Core-Lokt PSP, and 3 boxes of Winchester 150gr Power-Point ammo, 4 boxes in all. I got them on sale for $20-$23/box (the stuff is over $30/box now!) I'll sell them for $60 FTF if you can meet in SmurfreesBoro, or $65 shipped if you're interested. (Sorry, don't know where in TN you are!) Not bad for nice ammo, then 80 rounds of top notch brass! It's totally cool if you're not interested, I'm just puttin' it out there. BTW, about how much does it cost you per round to reload for 7mm mag? Do you make a "plinking" round with cheapo bullets, then a premium round with a Barnes or something? I've only ever loaded for handguns before.

    S&W Sigma series

I HAD one in .40 (until a classy pristine S&W Combat Magnum stole it and a couple hundred bucks from me at a gunshow!) and am planning on buying another when a good price and my money meet. True, it had a heavy, longish trigger, but $40 to a gunsmith fixed that right quick. It was VERY accurate. It was my first gun, and the first handgun I ever bought. With that "awful" trigger and all, the first 5 rounds I ever fired made it into the orange 4"x6" oval at 50'! I think that learning how to shoot with that trigger first helped me be able to shoot all the other guns I have now better. I keep hearing about people having trouble fieldstripping this gun and I just dont get it. Super simple. The .380 Sigmas are a different beast. I have a neighbor with one. I hate that dang thing. (Not the neighbor, he's cool.)
