  1. I had problems with my P22 after about 7,000 rounds. The hammer BROKE, was repaired by S&W, and then would just not get through a mag without choking at least twice. I loved the gun until that first mishap, then it was total crap. I have since sold it. While not the most accurate, the P22 was a fun gun, what with the clip-on laser for $80 and all. Now all I'm going to buy for a semi-auto plinker will be a Ruger. I shot the Mosquito and didn't love it either.
  2. Dang... same day as the MidTn Meet, Greet, shoot & eat! Bummer some of us will have to choose.
  3. That's awesome!! What cracks me up is that the people are turning and running FORWARD of the skeleton, instead of running away BEHIND it. Kinda' like trying to outrun a train by running on the track!!
  4. Quit screwin' with the poor boys' mind!!! However, it is kinda' funny!
  5. I was a 44% and don't really know how that happened. I'm guessing just because I had and happen to like the AR platform? And yes, some of that crap I had no clue what they were asking and just guessed. I hate malls and have no martial arts capabilities, so I don't really think I'm too much of a mall ninja.... now if I could just find my nunchucks....
  6. Is this 3-gun, or just pistol? I guess it doesn't really matter since all I have are 6 revolvers and a levergun anymore... dang finances! I'd definitely be in for showing up for this and giving it a try, except that I don't have the right guns. If I brought a bunch of boxes of Winchester white box 9mm, would anyone let me have a run with their gun? If it's 3 gun, I have a bunch of Federal 12g Field & Range shells if someone would let me borrow a shotty, too. I sold the last of my 223 at the meet, eat, and shoot at Dave's. So you guys that have done this before, am I just up poop creek w/a a paddle? If so, that's OK. I still may come to see what goes on, and then shoot later when I have the right guns.
  7. Hey, you could always get some self-defense tupperware ... I mean a Glock... as long as Marswolf doesn't see!
  8. can you send us a link to that other thread? I'd like to know what he said. If that were me, there'd be no way I'd own up to it!
  9. That's a mighty nice thing for you to do! Is that Santa hat getting into your bloodstream?
  10. Ditto Tungsten's idea. Also, I'd add a good old S&W model 10 into the mix... 3" or 4" barrel. It may be a smidge heavier than some other choices, but that will help a great deal in reducing felt recoil. I have a friend with VERY painful fibromyalgia as well, and she does very well with a 3" heavy barrelled 10-7 that I gave her. She shoots standard, non +p loads in it. Buffalo Bore makes a great 150gr wadcutter loading in standard pressure that is easy to shoot. As for trigger pull, I'd imagine a good gunsmith could reduce it for you a little bit, but not too much. Some, of course, will say that the trigger on a defense weapon should never be tinkered with as a liability issue if it were ever used in a shooting, and that is your choice to decide upon. Where are you located? I've got a few different 38s and would be more than happy to meet up at a range some weekend and let her try whatever she wants.
  11. I'll give it a shot... I guarantee I'll suck, too! That and all I have are revolvers right now!
  12. Awwww c'com! Don't you know that pink grips are a marvelous aid to accuracy, and decrease follow-up shot times by up to 90%?! You're at a great advantage, until I get pink grips for all my revolvers, that is!
  13. Shooting paper targets shouldn't be all that difficult to do at On Target. I mean, we can just hand each shooter his target (I print them off on regular copy paper) let everybody go shoot, then later judge them and pronounce our winner. If anyone wouldn't mind (I'll volunteer) his lane, each person can just go in and have their go, one after the other. I'd also be in for the team shooting... but seeing as how I've never partcipated before, I'd probably bring down the average score for the first few matches!
  14. I've got some fun targets we can use as competition... maybe a little $$$ involved? Maybe $1-2 each to join in, then we all get the same style target and whoever scores highest gets the pot? Maybe we can even get a shop owner or something to give us a goodie or two so everyone can join and have a chance to win? (TGO hat, anyone?)
  15. C'mon, now! Famous Dave's serves some vegetables... I think. I wouldn't really know, I'm always too busy eating yummy piggies! Seriously, though, any participation is cool, and we'll be glad to see you at the range.

    Your perfect 1911?

yea, if that Kimber had pink grips it would be perfection! Your RIA shot really well for me, too! I can't afford a $1,200 gun, so I'll probably end up getting one just like yours as soon as $$ and the wifey allow!
  17. Dang! I hate it when I miss the good stuff!

    Your perfect 1911?

Disney's Kimber. Maybe I'm just normally a bad shot, but I picked up his Kimber Saturday and put 8 rounds into one hole the first time, and in a very relaxed manner. I didn't even really have to "try." The gun just pointed naturally and sent the bullets were I wanted them to go. That half-rubber finger grooved grip was great, too. I fully believe that's why it shot so well. The only thing I might change would be to make it a bob-tail, but I'd have to shoot one (maybe next time, Tungsten! ) to see if it made a big difference in how it pointed in my hands.
  19. Cool pics!
  20. an old favorite...
  21. While that is pretty funny, I think it's even funnier that lizards lay eggs, not give live birth. Kinda makes the whole deal a moot point.

  23. Well, actually.... I've had to sell some guns lately and now have ammo for guns I don't own. I really need the money so I will have some .45, 9mm, and 223 with a couple 30rd mags for sale if anyone's interested. Oh yea, and if anybody is interested in seeing if I can help save you on your insurance, let me know!
