I think that price is for the actual BlackBerry service and the Simply Everything plan. Thanks for the tip on the SERO plan! I found crackberry.com yesterday and just posted in the Sprint forum. I'll probably post up on the Nextel forum tomorrow.

Hey TDR, do you know how Sprint works around London, KY and that area right around I-75 through to Bowling Green on Hwy 80? My wife is from that area, and she's wondering about coverage there.

Shotgun shell got washed.............

Like BK said... only one way to find out!! I suggest having some kind of wooden rod (longer than your barrel) at the ready in case you get some kind of squib that leaves anything in your barrel as an obstruction. Let us know how it goes! -
Hm.... I can get service from Sprint for about $45/month cheaper than through Verizon, and I even get corporate discounts! I am weighing your advice about Sprint, EBD. I'm going to look around and see if I can find more bad reviews about them. I'm pretty much settled on the 8330. I've just spent three hours reading about them all over the web, and I have friends that have them and everyone seems happy. Does anybody "know somebody" on the inside of any of these companies who can give me a crazy good deal?

SO.... I'm guessing IRAs would be a little harder for hem to get at? -
My wife and I are planning to leave T-Mobile on November 8th, when our contract expires. She doesn't get coverage at her school in Murfreesboro, and that's becoming more and more of a problem for us. Neither my Samsung cheap-o, nor her Razr get good signal there, if any. I've been looking at devices and I think we are going to go with BB Curve 8330s. I was thinking abot touchscreen phones, but I hate touchscreens, so there goes that! What do you guys think? What phones do you like, and what providers? I've called around and so far Sprint is the best deal for us. We can get both lines, unlimited everything (text, data, minutes, GPS, etc) for $127.49/month. The phones are $100 each, and they will give me those prices without doing any mail-in-rebates. There should be no start-up costs besides buying the phones, and our numbers will change over with no problem, or so they say! What advice do you guys have? Anything I need to watch out for? Thanks!

I wouldn't pick a press just because of a good deal. I would pick one that meets your needs/desires. If the Hornady happens to fit the bill, then good on ya! I think they are good presses, generally. One bullet that seems to be well regarded by most reloaders is the Hornady XTP. For the most part, you can't go wrong with the XTP hollowpoint in a standard weight for most calibers. However, they are a premium bullet, and I don't use them for paper punching. Also, once you start loading you won't believe how fast you go through bullets. 1K is not much. It's definitely cool to get over $100 worth of bullets for free, though! What you'll want to load for plinking will generally be much cheaper lead, plated, or fmj bullets. If you're just really itchin' to blow some cash, I think primers are a safe bet to stock up on. Federal is my favorite, but I have used and will use other brands in he future. I just happened to find a good deal on Fed primers a couple years ago and bough about 15k. I've got 3k left now and have to fork out about 50% more than before! ARGH!! Since there is no metal content in powder, it hasn't seen early the price hike as bullets and pimers. Powders only seem to have gotten about 10%-15% more expensive, versus 50%+ for primers and bullets. To recap, if you must go out and buy something now, I would say primers are the safest bet. If you have guns with lightened/tuned actions, I would not recommend CCI primers as they have the hardest cups. Especially in competition guns, this can cause a problem with consistent ignition. Federal is generally regarded as having the softest cups and are used almost exlusively by folks with lightened actions.

Whew....... that's a hard question to answer for someone who hasn't even started to load yet. There are literally thousands of powder and bullet combinations for every caliber out there. If I told you to buy 20,000 Brand X bullets and 30lbs of Powder Y, and you went out and did that only to find out that you don't like the combination of X and Y in your guns, you would have wasted a LOT of money. While I can understand how you would ask that question since you haven't gotten into loading yet, I don't think you fully understand what reloading is about. Trust me, you'll save a lot more money by trying out some different combinations first before throwing hundreds or thousands of dollars into something you may not want. Imagine your favorite shampoo (assuming you have hair and wash it normally ) was suddenly discontinued, and you have no experience with any other brand on the market. Are you going to go and buy a 3 years' supply of something you've never tried before, and just hope you like it? I sure hope not! You'll try a couple small or travel sized bottles of shampoo until you find something you like. Trust me, before you spend a dollar on powder, primers, or bullets, get a good reloading manual and READ IT COVER TO COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEN start asking more questions and decide on a press that will meet your goals. After you do that, start trying out bullets, primers, and powder. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but I would hate to see you blow your wad on stuff you may not like, when all it takes is a little money and time to try out your options.

Yea, I don't believe that nothing mechanical is impervious to imperfection. Show us a pic of your 686! I had a 6" 686 that I had to sell last year. Man I miss that gun!
-
I've probably dry fired the gun 20-30 times in the last couple years. Is that a lot?

I started on a Lee Deluxe turret press and still use it. It works great for me and I think it's a good set for a beginner. However, I will admit its very slow, and when I get the hundreds and hundreds required to buy a Dillon and it's accessories, I will be doing that.
-
Yea, I think the piece of the pin is what's screwing up the works. You can hear a little rattle in there now. Yea, I know not to mention reloads to Smith. Hey, I'm not above criticism in my loading. My very first batch had three with no powder in them! That hasn't happened in the thousands of rounds since, and I'm sure that in this case the ammo was not the problem, but I'm not perfect either. Thanks for being nice about it!
-
Yea, I'm rough on my guns, huh?!
-
Yanno... I used to be on the .40 bandwagon... seems like you can get more energy out of them, more rounds in the mags too. However, I keep reading more and more reports of the .40 failing, even with multiple center mass shots. I don't hear too many of those reports about the .45. I don't have a favorite of the two anymore. I'm wanting a DW CBob in 10MM. That should take care of any problems!

'Cuz my Performance Center Trophy Whitetail 629-4 broke its firing pin today! I would post a pic of the broken pin, but now the whole gun is locked up tight. I was shooting down at Stones River Hunter's Ed Center on Hobson Pike and all was going well. I was into my second box of .44, and after firing the 5th round (I shoot single action) the hammer was hard to pull back, and I had to use both thumbs to crank it down. I just figured a chunk of unburnt powder was bound up in the action, as I was shooting loads with 2400, which was leaving lots of crud everywhere. I pull the trigger for round 6 and ..... nothing.... just a click. I popped open the cylinder and round six's primer was not hit. I thought to myself, maybe I cycled the action twice when it bound up, maybe? So I indexed it so the live round would fall next and closed the cylinder, pulled back the hammer and pulled the trigger..... nothing. I emptied the gun and pulled the hammer back with the cylinder open (held the cylinder latch) lo and behold... broken firing pin!! This gun has the floating firing pin on the hammer. This is my nightstand gun, so I'm glad this happened at the range and not when I needed it for real. When I got home I took the gun out to look it over again, and noticed the the trigger wasn't coming all the way foward, even with the hammer all the way down. I worked the action a time or two and the gun just locked up. I can't pull the trigger or the hammer! Well, S&W has done well for me in the past and hopefully they'll do the same again. I'll give 'em a buzz on Monday. Here's a pic of the gun from about a year ago.

I actually really like HP38/Winchester 231 for mild .44 target loads. BUllseye has worked well for me too. 2400 can also be reduced without worries, unlike H110. I actually tried 4 different loads with 2400 and Berry's plated flat points today. The lowest were below even 44 special levels, and I stopped about 1gr under max. They all shot very well and I would be fine with any of the loads. The only thing about 2400 is that it leaves a lot of burnt powder in the case/cylinder/barrell. Unique can work for reduced loads, too. Oh, and Titegroup, too. Heck, lots of stuff! I hope you find what you're looking for, and happy shootin'!

What's so great about that? Goofballs.

So... you're saying the customer service center moves around if we do? But seriously, cool vid.

Yay!! An M&P goes through 1,000 rds with no problems!!

Jack Daniel's Habanero Hot Sauce. Go buy you one, NOW!! When I've been a bad boy and need punishing, Dave's is good too.
-
Yea, Dave's is definitely hot... but not necessarily yummy, IMO. SUre, it's great when you want to sweat, though!

Maybe if you shoot the two guns at the pins together? Wait, strike that.... I had .22s from a pistol bounce back at me when I did that. They seemed to get enough velocity out of a rifle to be safe, but .22s and light .38s with a flatpoint both bounced back. My shin really hurt after that 158gr swc popped me!
