    Wood AR15

Now THAT is CLASSY!!! Sorry, I'm no help. My guess would be that somebody who's a great craftsman just made that him/herself. Where did you find that pic? any more info on it?
  2. Hey Guys... I been thinkin' (yea, words you probably don't want to hear) but with ammo being in short and expensive supply, and all component prices being pretty high, I was thinking of at least one thing we could do to help each other out. Save and scrounge up all your brass (and maybe the brass that's just "laying around" at the range when you shoot) and whatever you can't/won't use, give it away to someone else on the board who will! It's just a simple thing we can all do to help each other. I've been the greatful receiver of about 500 .44 mag cases from one member who didn't reload, and I've given away over 1,500 .223/5.56 cases, and lots of 9mm and .40 to other members who loaded that. Personally, I'd like another 500-1,000 .357 cases myself. I'm hoping after the beginning of the year to make it to the indoor ranges more often. I always end up getting some auto brass **cough** mixed up **cough cough** in my brass bucket at the range. From time to time I'll be posting up donations myself. I encourage you to keep it local; a pick-up/meet-up type affair if possible. It's great to make flesh-and-blood friends and relationships from this board, and meeting folks in person for a free gift is a great way to foster that! When you've got donations, go ahead and make a new thread in the ammo/reloading section if you don't already have someone in mind to give it to. Thanks ya'll! (oh, and I'll put a shameless plug for 38, 357, and 44 mag brass for myself!)
  3. I can fix that for you!
  4. Yea, that cone at 3:06 was freaking awesome! As I was watching the video I was pretty silent at first, but then at 3:06 I let out a pretty loud "WHOA!" THAT, my friends, is driving superiority!

  6. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I totally agree with #1 And what's so wrong with Uncle Buck?! That's one of my favorite movies!! "You're not a gnat, are you, Bug?"
  7. Alrighty, here's the fun on Academy Way! Here's Kelley (my wife) with neighbors Here's Zander (neighbor's dog) he was a hoot! He'd catch the snowballs you throw at him and chew them all up! He's a great dog. Me and Kelley Our house John's snowman Our driveway is pretty steep, and we had some fun with that! You can see Abby sliding down the driveway a little here. I was hoping to get a shot of one of the kids falling! They were successful only about haf the time! Kelley's little snowman Ok, I don't have boots, just these Asics sneakers. They kept building up piles of snow under my heels! Every 10-15 steps I had to kick these big ol' chunks off. I'm starting to know what high heels feel like now! That's all, folks!
  8. We got some good snow here. I'll have some pics in a little bit. Had a lot of fun nailing the neighborhood kids with snowballs!
  9. I didn't even know there was a new punisher movie out! I liked the one from a couple years ago OK. I'll RedBox this one when it comes out, I guess.
  10. I like your advice best, TNDH!
  11. I guess the next question is... are you wanting the 1911 to be a range-gun, something you'll shoot a couple hundred rounds at a time with? Or do you want it to be a carry gun that you will rarely shoot more than a few rounds with? If carry, I'd say go aluminum, as a little felt recoil will probably not even factor into the equation with all the adrenaline that will be pumping through you if you have to actually use it. If range gun, get the steel frame, duh! I love a nice, heavy .45 blasting holes in paper! If both.... screw everything I just said, I guess! What say you other guys? I'm no expert, and I didn't sleep much at all last night, much less at a Holiday Inn Expess.
  12. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet dude!
  13. What was the last thing that went through the Dragonfly's head as it hit the windshield? Its butt!
  14. OH DUDE!!! That video is freakin' AWESOME!! It's even funnier the second time! The camera man's laugh right after the jump is GREAT! I don't speak whatever language that is... what's he sayin'?
  15. Yea! Chicks don't need no stinkin' guns! GO HE PEOPLE!!

  18. Do you really need an explanation?
  19. Yup, this new one works like a charm!

    Palm Gun?

Just wait 'til Barrett comes out with the long-range anti-materiel palm gun in .50 BMG!!
  21. Hey guys! As expected, S&W came through with flying colors! I was a lazy turkey and didn't send my gun off 'til about Nov 11th or 12th. (They sent out a call tag ASAP, and I didn't have to pay for any shipping) I called to check on it Monday before Thanksgiving, just to see how long they thought it would be. The guy said they were backed up, and with Thanksgiving and all it may be up to up to 3 more weeks. Well guess what? My gun showed up this Tuesday! I also told them the gun was going slightly out of time, and they took care of that, too! The repair ticket shows 3 things: replace hammer nose, replace hammer nose rivet, replace hand. Now the gun locks up tight and a good bit before the hammer falls. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but maybe I can use it to join December's shooting contest! I can't imagine that these repairs would have caused any other problems to happen, either. YAY S&W!!
  22. I agree, however, it's a lot easier to say "what... that dirty old gun?! I'm not paying $500 for that! I'll give you $350!"

    Palm Gun?

I wonder what kind of velocity loss this gun will have with what looks like an inch or less of barrel. The closed chamber is nice, and no energy lost due to cycling and all, but still... Also, I hate reading specification sheet with no real specifications. (measurements, etc) I dunno if I'd be happy with just one sho, either. Maybe they'll come out with a holster to hold like 10-12 of the little boogers?
  24. Well, you guys don't have to worry about me being part of the problem! I haven't bought a round of ammo in about 2 months, and that was only 70 rounds!
  25. Astra's advice is spot on... pretty much all of it... read it well. The only thing is that if you are shooting jacketed (probably a likelihood, especially in 9mm) your bullet prices will be slighty higher. Primers now are between 2.7-2.9cents each, powder (if using Titegroup or another fast powder) will be around three-quarters of a cent per case, to maybe 1.5-2 cents if using a slower powder, especially in .45. Do some reading about loading lead for 9mm. In light and fast scenarios, sometimes lead is not the best choice. Also, read up on shoot lead in polygonal rifling (if you shoot Glocks, mainly. I think there may be another pistol or two out there with poly rifling) Lead is great for .45s in just about any application, however. Just clean your gun every few hundred rounds if leading accumulates. (More often if you've got bad leading) Have fun!
