  1. No. This may be a crazy thought, but I really want Kimber to make an Ultra Carry that doesn't require a tool (no matter how trivial this may seem to some) for field stripping. I'm a firm believer in manufacturers not requiring me to keep up with one more thing to fully service my weapon. That said, I'm a huge fan of that gun (shot one 3 or 4 times several years ago). I don't own a 1911 and I don't know if my hatred of a "tool" will keep me from buying one for much longer. Maybe I'll wait one more year
  2. I'm on the phone with the BBB right now. I'm sorry for your treatment.
  3. I love mine (250 rounds so far). I did buy some of the Colt Mags from midway ($18/ea). They have the larger "humped" follower that causes the last casing to not eject (it easy to see how it gets hung up). I did two full mags like this and put it away. The factory Sig mag is the one that I put 250 rounds through (100% reliable). In that it's only the last casing it was "worth" the $18 but I'd never let the old Colt mag find its way into the gun for a night on the town.
  4. I've been a glock owner since I was 21 but I saw a Raptor Ultra Carry the other day and was all:stunned: "where've you been all my life?"
  5. To the Kimber UC guys, do you find it comfortable for all day carry? I've got one on my short wish list but I can't convince myself that I can carry it any better than my G30. Then again, it's not about replacing it's about variety I guess.
  6. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here but I've had great success with Break Free CLP's line of products, especially their protective lubricant.
  7. Dear Lord in Heaven, YES! I sent an e-mail requesting that they check this out. I have a Blackberry that I can't silence because I'm on call 24/7. I got a total of 110 e-mails that made a chime and vibrated my phone at around 11:00 p.m. last night. Myself and my wife both had to work today so it was a bit of an inconvenience. I'm glad I'm over there but I hope the hazing period is over.
  8. I don't think there is a transfer fee but not sure. I know I bought a Sig 556 at Woods n Water down in Tuscaloosa with my Tn license and didn't pay a fee (in 2006).
  9. I've always liked anything for self defense that tells me right right where my fingers go in low light situations. For instance, I don't like the looks of spyderco knives but I love the feel of them because of the wide opening for deploying the blade. Also, as a Glock owner I'd support the trend of "uglyfying" 1911's so I don't have to listen to how ugly my guns are
  10. I was probably 12 or 13 before I realized that Hoppe's wasn't my grandfather's aftershave scent. He shot quite a bit and his den where he would watch the news smelled really strongly of it. Memories.
  11. Larry's is a great shop and they're usually one of the first in the area to get their hands on newer items. Would recommend.
  12. It's not that hard to find if you are willing to order of the internet and wait 5 days. Basically, when I get low after a Sunday of shooting I'll order 500 and they'll be at the doorstep in time for the next weekend.
  13. Same here...Rosewood @ $600 OTD. I just picked up 2 extra mags from Midway for $16.99 each. Less than 1 minute of Dremmel tool work and they work and look just like the Sig mags and a spent $35 to the house for 2 in stead of $45 for one Sig one. Just a thought.
  14. +1 on the D.M. Bullard
