Bump.

Got some 1911 grips I thought would fit my Para LDA. They don't. They are wood grips, and I was wondering if anybody here knew anybody who did woodworking who might be able to help me make them fit. Essentially, they need to be thinner.

I've heard some things about this place out in Pegram but I don't know anything about it. Do they have some kind of website? If someone could tell me where they're located or how to contact them that'd be great.

This is why human reproduction should be regulated.

Requesting that day off.

Good to know.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I don't see how it's all that relevant for when I'm shooting a handgun as I keep both my eyes open.
-
How did you already get a shirt?

Well, I'm in Bellevue, which means there's not a decent gun store near me. There's a shop off Charlotte but last time I was there he didn't even have a 12 gauge cleaning kit in stock. I would think that would be a fairly common item. Anyway, for those reasons I've already ordered them online.

Those VZ hex screws should work.

Keep in mind that everybody on tv telling you to buy gold are the people selling you the gold.

I need some new screws for my 1911 grips. The new grips are thicker and the old screws are too short. Any idea where to get them? I was thinkin' I'd run up to Guns and Leather and see if they could help me out.

P345 was the first thing I owned and the first handgun I shot.

I looked into zombie squad. Recurring membership fees as opposed to the one time payment with ZRS and in their email they told me "we use the zombie apocalypse as a metaphor for disaster preparedness". I don't think we want to be a part of a zombie group that doesn't take zombies seriously.

I carry a Para Ordnance 1911. To me there's just no substitute for steel. You can preach all day about the performance and perks of polymers, but it'll fall on deaf ears. It's just not right for a weapon to not be made of metal. I go with a .45 because I'm accurate enough with it, and in my opinion, for carry purposes, you want tissue damage. Larger round tears through more of the body, plain and simple. You're not going to be ambushed be special ops, you don't need these smaller, lightweight, more aerodynamic rounds such as the 5.7x28mm in that FN pistol. Those are designed for armor piercing capabilities, which is not something a regular civilian needs. If you're going to get attacked by anybody they're most likely going to be thugs and cowards. When cowards know you carry a .45 with hollow points, cowards look for somebody else. Especially if they've seen that tissue damage.

I always thought we should deport them to somewhere other then the country they came from. If we send them back home, they still haven't loast anything and they'll just try again, and being from third world countries they are more then happy to sit in our prisons fat and happy off of our taxes, so the solution is simple. Send them somewhere worse then their country of origin. As most of Latin America are still catholic countries, I suggest the middle east. That should be the new policy, if you are found to be in this country illegally, we send you to a war zone.

As far as different versions go, go to HnK's website. It is ridiculous how many different MP5 versions there are. I like the really small one, I think it's the MP5 K. Yeah, I just checked and I was right about the small version. Here's a link Heckler & Koch - USA If you look at the slide on the bottom you can see that you can add a suppressor and a stock to make it more like the larger versions.

I used to carry the Judge. With the 3 inch chamber it's inconvenient to say the least. I had a hip holster for it, but if you have that thing on your hip you better know for certain that you're not gonna be sittin' down anytime soon. I had a concealed carry vest that worked out really well for it, but I ended up trading in the Judge and a Bersa Thunder and picking up a 1911. I just didn't like the set up I had so I turned 'em in to start from scratch. Now I've got a 1911 and an 870 and I love 'em both. I will say the Judge sure was fun to own, and it makes for one heck of a conversation when people who know what it is hear that you have one. And yes, I kept it loaded with the Winchester Super X 000 buck.

It's a step in the right direction, and should prove to be less controversial than AZ's law, even if all the controversy around it is completely idiotic.

CatDaddy had PMed me awhile ago, realizing he had the 2.5 inch chamber model Judge. I've since been assuming he lost interest in the program, as I'm pretty sure that holster is why he was interested. It still would be best to check with him first though.

Thanks. Haven't gotten into anything with a scope yet, but I will sometime in the future, good to know.

First thing I shot was a .45. A Ruger P345 to be precise. On a side note, how do you test left or right eye dominance. I never shot anything other then a handgun and never needed to test it. I've always assumed I was right eye because I was right handed.
