Traveler's Insurance lies to the victims of accidents.
Ebow1 replied to Ebow1's topic in General Chat
The bite doesn't seem to have caused anything serious. He did go to the hospital that night but was back at work the next day. As far as Traveler's goes they've simply stopped resonding to my phone calls and emails and no lawyer I've talked to has so much has given me the time of day so I guess I'm SOL on this whole thing. -
I think I know the Ebay one you're talking about. The Vino thing was a typo I didn't notice. The ebay one looks about exactly like mine except mine's in better shape and the writing is scrollwork, not print. I think mine is at least a little older based on that.

I have a feeling the Arizona issues could easily spark a second civil war. It could very easily split the country into states that side with the federal government, and states that side with AZ.

Ok, long story short, somebody gave me a telescope when I delivered them a pizza. I've figured out it's an E. Vino Paris 40x magnification double achromatic. It seems fairly old so I was wondering if anybody here could tell me anything more about it's value or point me to someone who could. I can post pictures if necessary.

Exactly.

I'll just say that I wish I had the money to finance my arsenal faster. I'm starting to think things are coming to the breaking point sooner then I originally anticipated. At this point I've gotta stock up on ammo for what I already have and hope it's enough.

I OCed up at GnL a couple weeks ago. Don't have a holster for anything else yet but I would like to get a nice should holster system for my handgun. Somehow I'm not surprised that noone made a big deal of it.

And cleverly I might add.

I think he's making fun of the opinion some people have that illegals do the work that Americans don't want to do.

I doubt it since it wasn't a vehicular accident, although they may suspend him until it's proven that he didn't get rabies from the dog. Of course after it's proven they'll probably want to conduct their own independant investigation since I'm sure they know more about rabies then any doctor. Just like they know more about traffic accidents then police officers. -
I've always wondered how the nickname "the fuzz" originated for police.

I would've honestly thought the greaves much heavier than that. -

Classic Monty Python. -
Either way I just use the term officer to avoid any accidental insult.

I think I've heard something about copper buttons being the origin of the nickname as well. I was speaking more to the issue of how people my generation behave. I feel like the people my age I'm surrounded by weren't ever taught right by their parents and I need to speak up when I see situations like this, so at least that way others know that not all of us are this bad, and some of us actually got punished when we did something bad. That seems to be an absurd concept to a lot of people these days.

I think I saw one of their trucks a few days ago.

Taking a hike in those things would be one heck of a workout. Imagine that infomercial. Those Sketchers shape-ups wouldn't have jack---- on those. -
Ok, it's entirely possible my source (coworker) about Fed Ex has only used them for long guns. I had forgotten to try DHL, I need to remember to check their website and see if they're any firearm friendlier the next time I need to ship one. Can't ship handguns via UPS ground at all either. Has to be next day air, and that brings up the price tag that's for sure.

Being that I'm a smart--- I'm going to say very little and only on the subject of how people raise their kids these days. Granted, I don't have much room to talk being that I've never had kids, but I will say this much. From a very early my parents, my father especially made certain to instill a respect for law enforcement in me. My dad wouldn't even let me use the term "cop". He informed me that the nickname was derogatory in nature, originating from the '30s or so and used as an insult to insinuate how little police officers were made, calling them coppers implying that they were paid pennies. Even though most officers are unaware of this and use the term cop themselves it still is something I will not do. As far as being a smart--- goes I only have this to say. It's better to be a smart--- then a dumb---.

I'm really anxious about getting it back. Even though I've still got a 12 gauge in the house I just feel a little vulnerable with my only handgun in another city.

Ok, got it shipped. Got a little extra insurance on it for obvious reasons. The people at the hub gave me a little trouble at first, but they said they were told by their manager that any firearm shipment had to go to an FFL. They called, and said it would be okay to ship within state to a non-FFL. The woman there was very apologetic about giving me a hard time, and very helpful after finding out that she could in fact ship it. It does have to go next day air though, ran me about $40 after all was said and done, and that was with them giving me the free boxes and bubble wrap from under the conveyor belt. I've since heard that Fed Ex is better to use for firearm shipments and cheaper. What I found really amusing is that the UPS hub off Whites Creek has a circle with a handgun and a slash in the middle that says firearms prohibited on the door. All in all the woman was very helpful once we got the ball rolling, and it seems that the fault is really with UPS and communication issues concerning their own policies. I did bring the page from their website that said the shipment would be okay, so that probably helped.

That's the route I've been considering. We just had a driver get bit by a customers' dog today and go to the hospital. It didn't seem to be anything serious but I told him that if he has to spend a single penny in medical bills, or lose a single penny from missing work to get an attorney. I think my biggest mistake was trying to be nice and cooperative about the matter and trying to keep it out of court. On top of that I'm gonna talk to the manager about blacklisting that customer. If you can't control your dog to the point that it's biting the delivery guy, then put it in another freakin' room. -
Although I'm guessing he would technically still be holding it.

Out at a church camp one summer, don't know the name or location of the camp but it was somewhere in TN. Me and my buddies were just old enough to be counselors that year, and sure enough, as I knew would happen, I get stuck with the youngest boys cabin. So I've got a bunch of psychotic little 9-10 year olds that I have to keep track of. Comin' back to the cabin I find a decent crowd gathered around the cabin. They're in awe of the big black chicken snake coiled up under the cabin, and they're playing with it and it's ready to bite. Without hesitation I get all the kids to leave the snake alone and get away from it. My buddy comes along and gets the snake by the tail and holds it up in the air. He gets bit on the hand about 5-6 times because he thinks he's Steve Irwin but he can't grab the head fast enough and the snake kept turnin' around and tellin' him to stop if you know what I mean. Eventually he gave up and let it loose somewhere out in the woods away from the camp. Never had so much as a close encounter with a snake myself and I hope to keep it that way. -
They really expect us to give them jobs with NO TAXES?! WE DON'T EVEN GET THAT! They're acting like they should be treated as the prodigal son who returned yet they were never here to begin with and nobody misses 'em.
