  1. I've got a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine that I was shooting for the first time today. I was using wolf rounds with the steel casings. Long story short, I've got 3 casings that refuse to leave the cylinder. I've tried everything I can to manually force them out but nothing works. Can anybody help me with this one?
  2. I used to own The Judge, my biggest complaint and the reason I traded it away, was the fact that I never ammo to take the range. 45 lc was too hard to find and too expensive when I did. People who think these guns are ridiculous usually point out the idea of using a smoothbore pistol, but I would never actually chamber the .45 for any defense purposes, just the 000 buck in .410. With .45 acp I've got a different version of The Judge, that I can actually take to the range on a regular basis.
  3. Thank you.
  4. Does anybody remember a post showing and talking about a painting of Obama with his nose in the air stepping on the Constitution while all the former presidents are around him pleading and a working man sitting on a bench with his head in his hands? Now that I've got an income again I wanna dig that thing up.

    1911 help

I haven't fired anything out of the ten round mag yet. As far as its origins, a buddy of mine dug up an old bag filled with 1911 mags while rebuilding his basement after the flooding and I was able to get one from him.

    1911 help

Yeah, I know the mags won't be a problem to find, I just want to find 'em here so I can get them in person and not have all the shipping anxiety I aways get. I'd thought about just partially loading it, but since it's so much bulkier then my other mags I'd really like to fix it and get the full 10 in there.

    1911 help

2 things. 1. I've got a mispec 1911A1. I've got a 10 round magazine for it. When I load a full 10 rounds, insert the magazine, and cock the gun the first round jams halfway out of the magazine and doesn't even make it into the chamber. When I only have 8 rounds in the magazine it feeds into the chamber just fine. I've thoroughly cleaned and lubed and fixed up the spring and that helped a little bit, but hasn't solved the problem. I think the problem is the retaining lips on the magazine. I'm betting they need to be bent back just a little bit. I have a buddy who thinks the problem is the feed ramp on the gun itself, but I don't think that's it simply because when I try and thumb the rounds out of the mag I have the same problem, I had to use a flathead to fling out the first two rounds of a full mag. I'd like to get some advice and try and find out for certain what the problem is before I start fiddling with stuff. 2. I need 2 7 round milspec 1911 magazines if anybody has any they wouldn't mind selling.
  9. From what I've seen of the effectiveness you're much better off with the ASP instead of the pepper spray. Having been recently pepper sprayed myself however, I'd say it sucks a lot more to be pepper sprayed then wailed on a bit with an ASP. If you can afford it, get the taser for a non-firearm defense alternative. Hands down that's the best way to go.
  10. Yeah. I'm having trouble with the extractor on mine. Put around 200 rounds downrange at the new GnL and had a couple FTEs. Other then that everything seems to be great.

Yall might wanna talk to Lagerhead.
  12. Lemme specify a few things. Pocket pistol would be primarily for personal protection from other people. I prefer larger calibers in general, but like the idea of having a caliber large enough that can help me out against some of the bigger wild animals just in case. I already have a .45 acp that I'm working on getting an IWB holster for. This pocket pistol would just be a backup.
  13. I've seen some 2.5s in .41 and .44 that I'm interested in. I'm just a little concerned about the recoil with that size round and that short of a barrel. I don't have any experience with anything that short. (that's what she said)
  14. sportsmansguide.com seemed to have a decent amount of .44 magnum available but not much in .44 special.
  15. In a snubnose for a pocket pistol. I'm leaning towards .44 magnum for ammo availability but I still haven't really made any decisions yet.
  16. Good to know about Brommeland. I won't be making a decising for awhile, but I'll be sure to let everybody know what I go with and how it works out.
  17. I'm a little wary, but I'll talk to the gun store they said was a dealer, see if they have any in stock, and if so run down there sometime soon and check it out.
  18. I was interested in the Brommeland Maxcon V. Any comparisons between the 2? They're at around the same price.
  19. I'm looking for suggestions for a good IWB holster for a mil-spec 1911A1. Price is not much of an issue as I'm already going to have to save some money up before I get one, I don't mind saving a little more for a pricier holster if it's what I want. I just wanted some opinions from people who had experience in the matter, and if anybody has one they want to sell I'll certainly look into it.

Sorry about the delayed response. Kinda forget I started the thread. Ok, Applebees is opening up a new store off of HWY 100 in Bellevue. They are not posted. Somebody actually made it a point to tell them during orientation how to post if they wanted to. I nearly put my face in my palm but the manager said that they have not, and more importantly WILL NOT post. They said if someone has a firearm, is behaving, and not drinking, then to leave them alone. I was so happy to hear that. Opening day is something like the 13th or 15th, I don't know for certain. I'll be doing training at other stores until then. It's right next to the McDonald's right where Temple hits 100.
  22. Finally. Orientation Wednesday morning for a cook job in a Bellevue area restaurant.
  23. Yeah, most of the people in that little mini-academy don't take it seriously at all. It's pretty bad when I'm on the higher end of maturity out of a group of people.
  24. Well I guess I just heard him wrong on the opening date then. The good news is that it no longer matters that I don't have any money because I'm still jobless, with that place opening up I wouldn't ever have any money even if I had a job.
  25. You beat me to the post. I got lucky and noticed them on a Saturday when the were having a viewing day. They told me they'll be officially open on November 1st. At least one of the men working there is former law enforcement. I walked in and he recognized that I was part of Nashville State's police science academy by my shirt. He asked about the instructors and he said he knew the older ones really well and used to work with them. I'm definitely gonna be spending a lot of time there whenever I get a frikkin' job again.
