    New Rifle!

Nothin' major on the truck. Fuel injectors were a little dirty, coolant was a little low. Topped off coolant, ran some seafoam through and it's fine.
  2. Yeah, dillos need to be killed. They have no natural predators to keep them in check, they devastate crops, and they're the only mammal other then humans capable of transmitting leprosy. They're also faster then you think. One was outside my Blockbuster diggin through the trash when we were leavin', scampered off as soon as we came out. I was surprised it could move like it did.

    New Rifle!

Found it in stock at GnL. Paid $800 before taxes. Looking into getting a scope from another member in a trade as we speak. I'll still learn how to shoot it with just the sights before putting the scope on, but if I can go ahead and get a scope in a trade I'm going to. I was honestly hoping to get one from Nashville Sporting Arms since my old teacher is one of the people there but they said they had one in stock for all of a week before a guy came in, put the money on the counter and asked for the Gunsite. They even told me they could put my info down and lemme know when another one came up but they already had another guy in line in front of me for one.
  4. It's really just for when I transport long guns in my truck. I transport my handguns by carrying them (on my person not like kwik) since I have a permit. I just feel uncomfortable driving around town with a rifle or shotgun in the passenger seat given how prone most people are to freaking out about seeing something like that. I think I would prefer a hard case, just seems better in case it does get banged into anything.

    Alright here's you gun porn
  6. And yeah, the pricetag on that Pelican is definitely more than I was looking to spend.
  7. Thanks for the correction, and no, I don't have an Iphone. I screw up my typed conversations all by myself.
  8. Advice, not advance dammit
  9. I need one for my new Ruger Gunsite Scout, but there seems to be a whole button out there without a lot of difference between 'em. Anybody have any suggestions?

    New Rifle!

Don't worry, pics are coming, I just wanted to mess with everybody for a bit about the pictures. The truck doesn't seem to be anything major. Topped off coolant and so far that seems to have fixed it. I'll find out for sure later today.

    New Rifle!

I am now the proud owner of a Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle. I will not let that hissing noise coming from my truck bring me down about this. Even if my truck has impeccably horrible timing when it comes to needing repairs.
  12. Also, to mphstiger, about the flowers and the nice card, I doubt it. I'm sure they would have issued a public statement about how sorry they were and how unfortunate it is but it's all bs. It's been my experience that no corporate employer gives a rat's ass about the entry level employees. You're not just an expendable asset but an easily replaceable one at that, especially now with the job market the way it is. The employers have the power and they're loving every minute of it.
  13. One of the biggest things I think is bull**** about not being allowed to carry with almost all delivery jobs is plain and simply this: Every pizza place I've delivered for that forbade weapons of any kind, also held the driver solely responsible for any stolen money, meaning if you got robbed, it came out of your pocket. They basically told us, yes, you are responsible for the money, but you're not allowed to take any measures to protect it. First of all, if I'm responsible for the money, then how it gets protected is my decision. Second of all, it seems to me the most logical person to hold responsible for a theft IS THE DAMN THIEF, not the victim.
  14. Good for him. I carried when I was at Pizza Hut. It's pretty safe to say he'll lose his job, but speaking from my experience it's also pretty safe to say he hated it anyway.
  15. Gee thanks Mr. Fancypants. Now my regular SR1911 is old news.
  16. I saw it in a liquor store here in Bellevue (I love being able to say that) and thought about it, but being primarily a spiced rum man I went with my tried and true Kilo Kai. I look forward to trying this.
  17. Ruger SR1911 250 rounds American Eagle Results: Noticeably dramatic improvement in firearms marksmanship. Not one single failure either to feed or eject, using a variety of mags including Ruger factory and Wilson Combat. Also, buddy with a Glock exclaimed after shooting it that, "I GOTTA GET ME ONE A THESE!":D
  18. Here's one of the uses. I have 40lbs of beeswax with no use for it. I also have 50 rounds of birdshot leftover from a tactical shotgun class that I have no use for other then blasting out of the double barrel for fun as I don't hunt YET. I now have a way to increase my 12 gauge stockpile of slugs and buck by 50 shells without spending a dime. OH! I BET I COULD DO THE SAME THING WITH MY LEFTOVER SLUGS, BUCK, AND BIRD IN .410!
  19. I wonder if beeswax would work just as well.
  20. that was just funny
  21. 1.) Put half into savings. After taxes let's say you get 30 million, so 15 million in some form of savings or another. 2.) Buy a decent chunk of land in the middle of nowhere, and build my hobbit hole (house inside of a hill) 3.) Use land to cultivate the various grains for brewing beer, and a bit of the land for growing tobacco, 4.) Take up hunting year round, take up reloading, and have special rooms set up specifically for reloading and butchering 5.) Live off what I hunt and harvest, using the 15 million in savings only to get a few other guns and disaster supplies and only when I need to upkeep things like ammo and food other then meat. 6.) Hopefully able to be completely off the grid other then the money in savings.
  22. There are more bad drivers out there then bad cyclists but there are also more drivers then cyclists period. Almost hitting someone on a bike is a lot more stressful then almost having a fender bender, simply because of the larger amount of damage you'd do to the person on the bike at the same speed. It's extremely frustrating when it seems you care more about not hitting them then they care about not getting hit.
  23. It wasn't, oh, I need to turn here but a cyclist has ridden out onto the ride. It was, I'm turning, I'm turning, I'm almost onto the other rode, OH LOOK A KID ON A BIKE!
  24. Didn't bother to read all the new posts, as it's clearly split up into 2 groups. The pro cyclists have reiterated time and time again that these problem cyclists are the minorty. In my honest experience, they are the majority. Motorcycles seem to have been brought in a bit, I have no problem with them as they are usually extremely safe. In my experience bicyclists seem to have no concern whatsoever if they run into a pedestrian or if they get themselves run over which is what infuriates me about them. I understand that this is not every cyclists, but it's darn near every one I've seen on the road. Also I would never do things like throw cigarette butts at them or "target them", when I'm stuck behind a cyclist I simply pass when the road is clear. Like I said it just seems that cyclists are constantly ignoring red lights and stop signs. A cyclist actually almost got me fired from a delivery job (yes, Domino's) when he road his bicycle off the sidewalk into the road as I was halfway through turning onto it. My boss yelled at me about not having right of way (when I did, he's just a moron) and threatened to fire me if I ever "drove wrecklessly like that again". I was half tempted to plow my truck into his fancy expensive SUV just so me bloodied self could stumble out and tell him THAT was wreckless driving. Anyway, I'm sure that's enough.
  25. Nevertheless you have to admit that damn near every person on a bicycle acts like they can do whatever they want regardless of vehicle traffic. That, and I can't tell you how many times I almost got ran into at LSU by some dick on a bicycle comin' around the corner of a building as fast as he can pedal. These experiences leave me with nothing but contempt for bicyclists.
