  1. I am contemplating getting some wood grips made in the pattern of my family's tartan. It seems to me like it would be difficult to do the colors properly on wood. I'm hoping someone here knows someone locally who does woodwork like this, so I could talk to them and get a decent idea of what I'm looking at.
  2. Nashville's Airport Police have a great method of preventing turnover. If you go somewhere else and you've been on for less then five years, you owe them money. I forget how they figure the amounts but it's based on how long you've been with them. Basically, if you get trained and go to somebody else shortly after, you owe them money for the money they spent training you. Seems completely fair to me, and if you don't agree with it you don't have to work there.
  3. Does this mean I can get my junk fondled on the interstate or do I still have to drive all the way to the airport?
  4. I HATED the complete disassembly/reassembly of my little Charter Arms snubnose .38 SA/DA. There are some infinitely tiny pieces in that thing.
  5. Yeah, it's basically the Citizens Are Screwed Act.
  6. I wanna figuring out a way to design a shotgun that works on the exact same mechanics as a real pump action shotgun, that somehow loads an exact shot of liquor into the barrel with the pump and is able to fire it out the barrel with the pull of a trigger. I bartend (unofficially) in N.O. during mardi gras and it would be fun as hel to bring something like that down with me.
  7. You're not a Derek that used to work at a Blockbuster in Baton Rouge are you?
  8. That thing didn't actually pass did it?
  9. From what I've heard the Mormons are really big on preparedness.
  10. No Mike. It's best 2 out of 3. If Bama wins leaving the teams 1and1 I think we can all agree that that's just crap. In my opinion a third game would need to played in order to establish a clear national champion. If the best 2 teams in the country both beat each other once then they are technically nothing more then equal. If LSU wins its LSU2 Bama0 and LSU emerges as the clearly best team of the season.
  11. I don't do any competitive shooting, but I can say there's all kind of steel targets that do different things that are WAY more fun to shoot then paper.
  12. AND THAT MEANS BOLT DOWN THE CAR TOPPERS!
  13. If Bama wins they better have a third game as a tie breaker. A co-championship between Bama and LSU would only serve to infuriate both teams and the fans of those teams. I will lose it if that garbage happens.
  14. I can appreciate that much. Really this entire season has practically been about LSU against Bama, with the rest of college football squabbling to see who is the best of the rest.
  15. I would like to make a few simple points about an LSU Bama rematch. Firstly I'll stay on topic and answer your question. I don't see another kicking battle because kicking will not win the game like it did last time. The winning team is going to have to put people in the endzone. The fact is the only reason LSU won a kicking match is because Bamas kicker choked, and the only thing they had to do to fix that, was make the kicker kick the ball all practice. It's not like there's much else for a kicker to do during practice anyways. I'm picking LSU for this not as fan, but analytically and realistically. LSU already beat Bama AT HOME, and now with the BCS championship in New Orleans it is a home game for LSU. As long as we can get Jefferson to accomplish, well, anything productive with the football, LSU can win this one. I trust LSUs defense to keep Bamas points low, and LSU special teams (mostly Mathieu) to make Jeffersons job as easy as possible, but he is still going to have to do it. And I don't want to hear anything about Lee, as he has proven despite his performance the rest of the season, that he is useless against Bama.
  16. Yeah. I'm not going with AIM that's for sure. I ran across a brand called Osprey and I'll just say that they need to be steered clear off from what I've read. I'm lookin at a Bushnell, a Weaver, or a Yukon. The Bushnell measures windage and elevation in milliradians and features a Mil-dot reticle, so that you don't have to convert from MILs to MOA
  17. Anybody?
  18. Damn, yall took most of the good ones. Or should I say bad ones? Not counting those already shot in the discussion, I'll take zombie Eric Holder (since we do seem to be including politicians), zombie Kyra Sedgwick (I have no reason to but I just can't stand her), and zombie Seth whateverhisnameis who does Family Guy. He took a funny show and turned it into nothing but a fountain to constantly spew his own liberal rhetoric.
  19. Anybody know anything about them? Are they a good company, are they reliable, that kind of thing. My mom is spending a little extra to get my brother something really nice for xmas and asked me if I could find something similarly priced so she could do the same for me. I was happy to oblige, and I've found a rifle scope that fits the bill, but it had no reviews and I don't know the first thing about the company.
  20. I can say that I love mine, and I shoot better with it then any other handgun I've owned, and that includes a Para P14. I can't speculate as to the reason for the lower cost because honestly, there was no reason to.I looked at a good few reviews online, including Hickock45s video, and I read one of a gunsmith who had literally done everything he could to try and make one jam, shooting it wrong, feeding every kind of ammo he could find, that type of thing and he couldn't produce a single jam. I've put 250 rounds through mine in one sitting with no jams and I know somebody else had a thread awhile ago about putting a large number of rounds through in a short amount of time without any jams.
  21. Campus carry. Every single time I've had the opportunity to choose the topic for an assignment I did it about campus carry. I know you said you already did guns and the second amendment but this would be a more specific aspect of it. I'm pretty sure I did 3 of my 4 speeches at NSCC about gun stuff.
  22. DAMMIT! WHO TYPED A QUESTION MARK ON THE TELEPROMPTER? I'M TELLING YOU BARACK OBAMA WILL READ ANYTHING HE SEES ON THAT TELEPROMPTER PEOPLE!
  23. I wouldn't know. My Ruger 1911 was made in America.
  24. Good one Mike, and Greg, c'mon it's for charities. In all seriousness, having had a telemarketing job before (government surveys), the best way to put a stop to telemarketing is to simply give 'em a mintue to explain why they're calling, tell them you're not interested and that you would appreciate if they take you off their list. With the no call list stuff anybody who's not selling something can still call you, but have to stop if you tell them to and they take that kind of thing very seriously.
  25. And to be fair, I've had 4 different jobs since then and didn't throw a single thing when leaving any of them. Applebee's was mutual, to be honest I just sucked at that job, so I found something else and put in a notice and they were cool about it. I had a temporary job at the campus bookstore, no problems there. I went to Pizza Hut for almost a year, and had a boss who treated us much worse then the guy who got me worked up into the car topper incident, but I learned. I was patient, never showed any signs of discontent, got a job at a thrift store and simply drove over to Pizza Hut handed in my uniforms and said I was done. Then the thrift store fired me. I got kinda screwed over by that. But like I said I've got apps, and interviews and trainings lined up, so I should be good.
