Proof pretty much the 22 ammo thing is about over
Keyless replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I bought some in the Dayton Walmart 3 or 4 weeks ago . They were CCI mini mags ( I bought 2 ) and they had some stingers too ( I wish I had bought a box of them ) . The next week they had Winchester 100 round boxes. This week they had the 22 magnum but no LR when I was there. -
Proof pretty much the 22 ammo thing is about over
Keyless replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have seen 22 lr the last 4 weeks in a row in Chattanooga after not seeing any ( that I remember ) in the last 8 or 9 months.. I found 22 magnum today and bought the 3 box limit for my new Henry that I have not shot yet. He asked if the Mrs wanted three boxes as well , but I told him leave them for someone else. I just buy a few boxes when I can but I am not willing to pay inflated prices or wait in a long line. I just don't need it that bad. The only ammo I have been buying this year is for guns that I have bought this year in calibers I didn't have before. -
I have had a PF9 and the 380 in kel tec . To me the PF 9 was bigger than I like in a pocket . I did carry the 380 for a long time and then when I quit working , sold it thinking I no longer needed a pocket gun. However for the quick trip to the corner store and so on , I am now looking to buy another one. I am looking at the Taurus I think it is a 738 in 380 and the one thing I do like is the slide stays back on the last shot. This is something that most of the small 380's don't do . I currently have a Smith & Wesson , Sigma 380 but it is a little bigger than the Taurus but it does the job for now.

I had the magnum but let my son have it because I wanted the one with both cylinders. With his work , he needed it more than I do. I wanted the new sidewinder , swing out cylinder model they now have , until I saw the price. Not sure it is worth that much more to me. Great little ( true ) pocket gun . Just watch about getting your finger out of the way at the end of the cylinder .

Welcome to the club. Not for everyone and I understand that . Just like an AR is not for me . We have options and you need to get what you feels good and that you can shoot well . I tried to hate them at first and the I shot one. My first was a 30 and I do better with Glocks than most others pistols . In looks , it is hard to beat a 1911 but I don't want to carry one .I carried a 36 for a good while but now I have been carrying a 33 with a magazine from a 32 and an extenion . This is what fits my hand the best . In stock form the sub compact just needs a little more to hold onto for me . Also it is nice that the larger magazines work in the smaller frame pistols . I have 11 at the moment and can get most other variations with a barrel change . The only time I don't carry a Glock is when I just run to the corner store and need a pocket gun. I wish , now that they are making some in the states , that they would make a 380 in the KelTec or Ruger LCP size. I also would like to see a single stack in 9mm and 10 mm.

I have an H&R Handi rifle and added both a Limb Saver recoil pad and a mercury recoil reducer to the factory wood stock . The mercury recoil reducer slides in the stock under tne butt plate . This got it to where I can shoot it now without shoulder pain . I bought the slip on recoil pad so I could use it on multiple guns but they do make them for the H & R .

G-18 is way out of my price range but i do agree. I wonder how many ( if any ) are here that made it before the 1986 Hughes ban.

I have 11 Glocks at the moment and overall the compact 19 size is the best to me also. I don't have a 19 but I have a 32 C that is the same size. I have been carrying a 33 with a 32 magazine and grip extension a bunch lately. The grip on the sub compacts is just a little small for me. I would also like to see a single stack 10 mm , seems like it would be easy to do .. A single stack extra small 9 mm and now that they are building some in the USA , A pocket size 380 in the Keltec size . I see no reason here for a 380 that is the same size as a 9 x 19. I understand the reason for it overseas is that civilians ( in some countries ) can't have firearms in military calibers . My main carry is a Glock but for that quick out the door trip I end up with a S&W 380 Sigma in the pocket . Glock just doesn't make something to fit that bill to me . If they ever do I will buy it.

Apex Will be Getting in New Sten Parts Kits.
Keyless replied to gjohnsoniv's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I built a pistol out of a Mark lll kit and a carbine out of a Mark ll kit. The carbine , I bought the barrel , bolt ( semi only ) and reduced I.D. receiver from Indianappolis Ordinance. The pistol I made into a vertical feed with the original bolt modified and a denial bar added so an original bolt will not even fit in the receiver. I will try and get a picture up , I had a hard drive crash but found some pictures . I just have to remember how to post them. -
Pretty sure a guy that bought ammo this morning
Keyless replied to Junkstack's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I guess if you have to buy at inflated prices , that is the price you pay for not seeing this coming. I stocked up many years ago and have only bought ammo for a few guns that I have bought in calibers that I didn't already have. Those new guns got a few boxes bought for them and when the ammo gets available at normal prices , I will stock up for them . Just don't buy it. I don't even look for ammo or reloading supplies anymore and haven't for months. If I am in the store for something else , sure I look , but I haven't bought any ammo in about 6 month . The last I remember buying was some 45 G.A.P for a pistol that I bought ( why I bought it I still don't know ) .I belive this was around Febuary and it was not that hard to find or inflated. -
my one and only glock,as if you never seen one before
Keyless replied to SonnyCrockett's topic in Show and Tell
Looks good . I like all my Glocks (11 for now) but I like the size of the compact ( 19 , 23 & 32 ) the best for an all around pistol . They are hard to beat for a tool that works . -
lost the cotton off one the other day in my ear but was able to get it out . That has been my only problem.

I had one and everytime I had it apart I had to go to you tube to get it back together. I am a Glock guy as well and sold my Ruger thinking I will replace it with a 22 conversion for one of my Glocks.

Send a message and request to meet in person. I have bought several from Gun Brokers that were local. If he is not a FFL holder ,Posey gun and pawn in Cleveland can do the transfer . They have received several for me that I bought on Gun Brokers. Keep us posted on the outcome.

Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro 9MM Holster
Keyless replied to Viracnis's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
My son has one and he uses his Glock 23 holster . It may fit others but this was a Fobus and a copy of a Cross breed IWB . Both were listed for the Glock but not the Taurus . -
No body , No crime . What snake , Just hear say , everyone knows you can't believe everything you read on the net . We have problems with Copperheads here. Last one we came across was less than 10 feet from the back of the garage and I almost stepped on it. Before that 2 at the barn , This was a few years ago before I started cleaning everything up . Also the reason I have been cleaning up. Others close by ( less than 1 mile ) have had rattlesnakes dead in the road. I also talked to someone who had a rattlesnake in his yard a week ago. But we haven't had any that we saw here yet. I have been clearing the brush around here and going to have a nice field with targets at the bottom of the hill.

I weld my rails on the inside before I bend it . It just leaves a cleaner look. I did have to modify my die so that it would clear the installed rails. I heat treat mine with a torch and oil . There are several links that show how. It is the part that I hate to do but I just take my time and follow the process best I can. It is a pain having to clean it up between each hole you treat. I normally take brake cleaner and spray the oil off it after it cools.

Would you be leery of a used BP revolver?
Keyless replied to bikertrash2001's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I agree with several of the other . Some pitting shouldn't keep it from being safe to shoot as long as it is locking up properly. You can also buy 45 long colt conversion cylinders for them from Midway . I keep thinking of ordering a cylinder for mine but never have. Not sure about using them in a brass frame . -
I have a late Gen 3 17 that was doing the BTF . A new ejector fixed it , but as stated yours should already have the latest one.. It was 10.00 on ebay and kept me from shipping it back . I keep thinking that with demand and production as high as it has been this year there has to be some quality issues with all manufacturers . But this goes back to a problem that has been here for some time.

When I was young I couldn't hit anything with a rifle. I tried and the only way I could hit with a long gun is to shoot it lefty. I just can't see the sights well enough to shoot right handed .When trying to lean over and use the left eye , your hold on the rifle is terrible and it just never worked for me . So I just learned to shoot lefty. I also never bought a Lefty rifle , but rather just shot them left handed . I did however end up with a lefty shotgun last year. As for pistols , I pull the trigger and hold it with my right hand . I do hold it over to the left and use my left eye with both eyes open. The pistol ends up postioned in the same place a left handed person would have put it. Shooting left handed does limit your selection a bit. But I have only had a few semi auto's that I had a problem with the brass in the face . I can't even remember what they were now .Other than semi auto's , I prefer lever actions and pumps as far as no problem to shoot left handed . Bolt actions are the worst but I have several and they are fine for target practice. Hunting with one ( And I have done it ) place your shot well and hope you don't need a quick follow up shot. To me the extra cost and limited choice caused me to buy right handed guns. I only ended up with the Lefty shotgun because it was cheap and needed repair work. I believe Hicock45 is the same way and I sure wouldn't want him shooting at me .

I sold mine on Gun Broker for 680.00 in January. Early panic days . They went higher but , I think most of the panic has slowed down so it is hard to say now.

My understanding was because the slide was not covered , it was legal. I think when it covers the top of the firearm , like on the revolvers , that is when they call them AOW's . It does break up the lines of the gun and makes it look like a wallet when in a pocket. I carried one just like it for years with a 380 . Like so many of the ATF laws , there is a fine line between legal and not. So many gun laws are stupid just add this one to the list.
