Ask some local police officers. Here in Memphis there are two well known cop shops, but there are a couple more that have great deals that don't even advertise.

I like the local amenities part, very useful if you are making a weekend out of it.

SPCA is very different than PETA. SPCA does good work.

That would be a bad feeling, I freak out if my daughter steps behind a clothing rack while we are shopping. I can guarantee she would not be going to the restroom by herself.

There was a recent thread on here about the anti-gun stance of the owner of Molly's La Casita. The news is reporting that a man tried to abduct a child in front of his parents this afternoon while they were eating at Molly's. Molly's might need to rethink their policies!

In my experience working around the MPD Tact Unit, they have much more to worry about than HCP holders. If he called them a "SWAT" team, I can assure you that he has not been around them. They are a "TACT Unit" and will correct you quickly if you mention SWAT.

The SCSO range has always been North of Walnut Grove, at the training acad. The range South of Walnut Grove was run by the County and is now closed.

I got my HCP 10 years ago and have been shooting for much longer. It took years for me to become what I consider a good shooter. I credit lots of dry-firing, and listening and watching those who I considered to be proficient shooters. I shot more before I got into law enforcement, seems like I had more time.

I have bought many parts from M&A and I would recommend them. They use good stuff and have things in stock pretty often. If you don't see something on their website, then call them. Their stock changes pretty fast so the phone is the way to order. They also don't mind customizing uppers and such.

I have a couple of friends from Chicago and they could not believe that TN does not require gun registration.

If you read the "Mall Rules" printed on the kiosks by the doors, it says no guns in tiny letters. Same for Oak Court mall. While I know this is not a proper sign, I would not OC there. I think you are asking to get it posted. A posting there would make me very unhappy.

J-frames are nice.

Sorry if I sounded harsh. I'm not sure what you carry, but I would recommend a J frame in the pocket in situations like this.

The restaurant was not posted, you could have carried lawfully. How in the world would they have "found out" you had a gun on you? Either you are open-carrying or your concealment skills are lacking. No one will ever know I am carrying because concealment is very important to me. My department requires off-duty officers to conceal. I do not print and I do not ever have my shirt caught on the butt of my gun. If you are going to carry, don't take it lightly.
