  1. I have ordered some items from Botach Defense twice (registration required, was approved in 2 days) and never had an issue. Unsure how they are related to Botach Tactical. They currently have the Eotech 512 for $340 and XPS2-0 for $394. www.botachdefense.com YMMV, I always try to speak with a person when ordering anything...lots of shady vendors in this business. Be sure to verify that it is authentic, the 512 is easily cloned.
  2. This one is a far cry from the knife shows (with a few guns) at the fairgrounds. Last month this show was full of new inventory with internet prices at more than one table. The best sign was when I went back on sunday afternoon around 2, it was cleaned out...people were buying. I enjoy seeing the latest garbage "clones" from the chinese and koreans, it is pretty crazy what they pull off. RK shows do let you re-enter, you only pay once. Hoping it is as good as last month, I spent money then and plan to spend more this weekend.
  3. Just wanted to thank everyone for being so welcoming to this new shooter. Next time I won't be suprised by a 22 mag in my 23 If anyone is on the fence about going to something like this, just go. The only regret you will have is that you did not go sooner. I will be back!
  4. Thanks! I will be there at 8.
  5. I picked up a rock island 1911 tactical from bellshire about a year ago, it has the nickel finish. It shoots everything I have fed through it, 1000 rounds or so without issue. A great value for the money. I think the match gives you upgraded sights, hand fitting and dehorned slide/frame. They seem to be pretty hard to find, buy both! RIA match review here The M-1911 Pistols Organization E-zine
  6. Thanks! I did not see your post before I replied. Could I borrow a holster, mag and pouch for my Glock 23? I want to avoid purchasing the wrong thing, it makes more sense to wait until I know what I really need. Looking forward to it...
  7. I have plenty of tupperware but none in 9mm. Hope they don't mind a 23. I am sick of paying 2x for .40 and .45, perhaps it is time for that 19 or 92FS I always wanted...this never ends:D
  8. I have a clipdraw and a leather IWB. Seems I will need a OWB paddle/belt holster. They seem to all be pretty inexpensive and I saw a huge selection at the show today. Just looking for a specific holster to purchase so I can practice. Something like a blackhawk or fobus, would that be a good place to start?
  9. Would like to give this a try. I would bring either my Glock 23 or 1911. What holster and mag carrier do you suggest?
  10. Somehow found TGO through facebook, glad I did. Greetings from Chris in the boro. I have been around guns all my life, learned to shoot rifles and shotguns on my family farm in Louisiana. My father hates handguns so naturally I did not get my first until 1995 or so while in college. That was a Glock 27 that I still have. Still learning how to be a better pistol shot but I can hit a dinner plate on the broad side of a barn, I guess that is a start. Just a few more guns I want to buy before the little one comes in a few months, I have all the usual suspects and prefer high value over "gee wiz tacticool custom." My rock island goes boom just fine, would rather have 7 of them instead of one Wilson. No quad rails, lasers or dots in my safe. Would prefer to spend the money on ammo and practice. I am always looking for a good deal and can't bring myself to sell anything once I have it. Usually I get everything from Phil at Bellshire unless my family gets me gift cards from Academy. I really don't like the shooting range, just too boring. I mainly use it to verify function. Current HCP holder and member at on target. I grew up shooting snakes and nutria plus hunting everything from ducks/geese to deer. Really intrested in IPSC, I might try the next match just need to know exactly what to purchase. I have plenty of handguns but I don't think I have the right holster, etc. Extra mag is usually in a pocket or console. My family is looking for some land up here and I would like to duck hunt here next season, so far only hunted deer here in TN. Back in Louisiana WMA's were a no-no, they still make me nervous but perhaps someone could give me the scoop on them up here. I am looking forward to learning more about IPSC...happy to be here.
  11. Just got back myself. Plenty of good stuff to look at and some decent prices. Not as crowded as the fairgrounds last week but plenty of people around. Large number of private sales. Finally got to put my hands on a doublestar AR-15, seem to be a great value. The guy in the far back corner was selling complete doublestar parts kits for I think 660 out the door, not sure if the lower was assembled. I might go back for one of those, can't have too many. $949 after rebate SIG 556's. Also got to see the new century milled AK. Ammo still through the roof...when will it end. Always fun to see the NC Star stuff. ...first post!
