  1. I was at the SW parking lot today around noon to meet someone for an unrelated reason and I saw all the cars in the parking lot. I asked him what it was about he said "the truck came in, there's 100 people in line". I went inside and sure enough there were about 20 people left in line. I went to the back and picked up a jar of pyrodex, came back up and asked for 9, 40, 45 and 223 and they had all of it still. tons of 40 actually. I'm sure there was plenty left at whatever time the good RevScottie gets off work. Just try your luck i guess.
  2. sportsmans warehouse in chattanooga today. 50ct box of 9mm 115gr fmj - $13.99 - 3 box limit. after the ~100 people in line were through, there was still more to be had (I left and came back so I didn't stand in line). They are marking up prices some. the same ammo used to be 9.99 at walmart and 10.99-11.99 at sportsmans. They get reloading supplies too. They do limit on quantity you can purchase but they get a truck every week... I miss the days of $11 bricks of 22LR at wally world... (last month I stood in line at big5 out in kalifornia to buy a brick for 29.99)   I need to invest in bullet casting supplies...

    Fully Auto Glock

gotta love fps russia - good 'ol georgia boy actin like a russian. lol
  4. Thanks for your recommendations and encouragement. I rented the ranges benelli auto - it was a pretty nice gun for a rental. I went to Benton Sporting Clays in Benton, TN (owned by the guy that owns benton shooters supply) I believe the range is in his backyard...
  5. I just got home from my first experience doing this. I'm HOOKED! I come from a few years of pistol and rifle shooting, and only having a shotgun for HD. I never knew I could have SO MUCH fun with a shotgun. holy cow. I bought the experience on groupon a few months ago and finally got around to using it. The range was very well laid out (I thought - it being my first time, it might not have been, but there seemed to be quite a bit of variety and everything was in nice maintained order). I promise this isn't an advert - as it is starting to sound like one to me. I just am so jazzed about how much fun I had. I went with a buddy of mine who had also never been before and we got a quick instructional from the guy running the place, used a rental gun and spent the morning/afternoon blasting away clays. I only hit 50 out of 100 birds thrown (no pairs - I was still getting the hang of tracking) but I feel like I did fairly well. I'm worried now though cause I have a feeling I'm gonna be spending a lot more money doing this sport...
  6. across the state, Fugates in Calhoun, TN pulls out the "blue book of guns" and rates the gun according to the book, then gives you $30 under the appraised value (pending you have box and all stuff it came with) You'd do better off doing a personal sale, but when I needed quick cash, they were there to bail me out.
  7. I have the NAA 22mag with the short barrel. Its quite a bit of fun to shoot. with some practice I can keep it in the 9 ring at 7 yards
  8. Fugate Firearms in Calhoun, TN (exit 33 or 36) off I75.... no website. 423-336-2675. Carmen and Doug teach 4-5 classes a week, $50. indoor range, it goes quickly since there's 2 instructors.
  9. ... Riiiight ... a 'flash mob'... they called it that in the first report (when a few people were actually shot) it looked and sounded a lot like gang activity to me...
  10. so you heard about the shootings in cooledge on saturday night? haven't seen that many cop cars since watching the OJ chase on TV...
  11. slow clap for me. just built my first lower... wanted to do this for like 10 years, finally took the "plunge". can't wait to take it out and work it over
  12. welcome Jonathan... Jonathan here (yeah, another one) check out cdnninvestments.com they have some different shotgun stocks for great prices. I got a speedfeed stock there for my mossy 500 for $29 throw a "thud buster" recoil pad on it and you're set... maybe?
  13. i got mine off here with a box of shells for $90 - refinished stock - not 100%, but wood. Oh yeah its a 20 ga
  14. I use a co2 paintball tank, coil hose with valve and barrel with holes in it to purge my bags and buckets before and after filled with grain. as far as insect eggs... yes. put that stuff in there that the guy above me mentioned.
  15. I packaged rice, wheat, oats and lentils a few years ago. use white rice - not brown - the oil in brown rice makes it go rancid in about 2 years. white rice will last 30. i used these mylar bags filled with co2 and these o2 absorbers, inside 6 gallon foodsafe buckets with gamma seal lids. instructions on gas purging a bucket Its great to have a few 100 pounds of food on hand - the only probelm is - if you 're out of electricity or fuel for any time- it all still has to be cooked... raw rice and wheat are not great eating... so have a plan for that. thinking about it and planning your strategy is the first step. have fun. p.s. on the issue of storing protein... ADM (archer daniels midland - the grain company) makes a product called TVP (textured vegetable protein) that is like 53% protein... its dry - add water and spices and you have a hamburger analogue - its not the greatest thing ever but its a great way to store lots of protein for very little weight. TVP - there's other places to buy it - just a starter place for some basic info/nutrition guide.
  16. cdnn has the kci ones for 9.99 - mine has jammed twice. i think spring fatigue is a problem with these things. just don't keep it loaded... (kinda defeats the purpose of having it right?) looks funny stuck in my 26 - and people look twice at the range when i do a 33 round rapid dump - so long as it doesnt jam...
  17. doh. the 5th worked for me. the 12th doesn't though. Mousegunner is a great guy - have fun meeting him. I wish I could come out and see all of everyones toys. maybe next time.
  18. I'm interested in joining. any day *could* work for me with enough notice.
  19. gotta agree with OhShoot here. I bought a 10/22 at Dicks (after a $20 coupon, and 20% off cause it was a floor model) and still only saved like $3 over what the regular price at wally world is...
  20. Yeah that's not true. They do sell ammo at the Brainerd walmart, it is just down under the counter. You gotta ask for it, its not out on display like the one off gunbarrel. The walmart in south cleveland off apd-40 carries guns. ORDERING GUNS FROM WALLY WORLD.... ask your "friendly" sports counter rep and they will pull out a book of the guns they can order. you point at the one you want and they will order it for you. pretty easy. they have NO idea what they're talking about so don't go with questions about ANYTHING but they can order it for you. such misinformation on this site guys... c'mon someone actually go and ASK not tryin to be a donkey butt, just tryin to help with maybe more accurate info...
  21. carried one for a year. carrying a g26 now. long trigger pull (DAO) on the pf9 takes some getting used to. it is a super slim/tiny gun easy to conceal under summer clothes (shorts and tshirt) not a range gun, good for self defense if needed.
  22. more on that. it looks like it has a decal grip kit...
  23. anyone in the chattanooga area that wants to try mine out is welcome to. shoot me a PM
  24. Thanks everyone for the welcome. CJK, I am a founding member at shooters depot. I try to get there at least once a week. I used to have a place to shoot outdoors but my friend sold his house...
