  1. i'm working on the AK situation...i've already been wrote up byt th DHS guys on this issue and i'm working to resolve it ASAP!
  2. thanks guys, i was thinking it would be 18"...
  3. ok guys, here is a question i thought you all might could help me with. i know that because of the GCA 68 smoothbore shotgun barrels have to be at least 18" in length and the overall length at least 26". on rifles, it is 16" barrel length and 26" overall length. given all that info, can a rifled slug barrel on a 12 ga shotgun be 16" or must it maintain 18", as long as the overall length stays at least 26"? the only reason i'm thinking/asking about this is i have a shotgun only area to hunt this year. most of the time i hunt out of ground blinds, and a shorter barrel is much easier to maneuver than a longer barrel in a blind. with shotguns, the yardage is going to be short anyways, so i'm not giving up that much accuracy or distance with a shorter barrel. i know 2" doesnt sound like much, but in a blind it makes a huge difference... anyways, this is just some ramblings...let me know what you think? i think it may be safest to stick with 18" just in case one day i run across an LEO who isnt fully up to specs on the laws. nothing againts the LEOs out there on this forum, or anywhere, its just that i personally know a lot of our local LEO's and gun law knowledge isnt always a priority if you know what i mean...
  4. JMHO but i would stay away from Tasco & Simmons (unless the Simmons is the Aetec line, they are nice). for around $150 you can get a very nice used Nikon. Leupold's are held by some as the best, but i really like the glass in my Nikon. if you must buy new, then i would highly suggest the Bushnell 3200's. they are about the best bang for the buck in scope optics today...the glass is right up there with the higher dollar Nikon and Leupolds. i've never been a "cheap scope" guy, but on the other hand one of my buddies will spend twice as much on the scope as he did the rifle its going on. i'm more of a middle of the road guy, so i like the Bushnell 3200's and the Nikons...not cheapys but nothing you have to mortgage the house for either... check swfa.com and also check there samplelist.com (i think it is, there is a llink on the swfa.com website to it). that is there used optic list, most of the time its trade-ins or demo units with great deals on there...
  5. bobcats are legal, but they do have there own season...check TWRA's website for the exact dates its open. i dont think they are like coyotes that are open year long...
  6. this is a sweet idea!!!
  7. nice AK!! i'm getting the fever...and the only cure is an AK...
  8. but a Ruger is better than a Kel Tec? no flames intended or needed, i'm not a "brand loyal" type of person. what makes one brand "better" to you may indeed make it a "worse" brand to me...judging guns by the brand is like judging people by there in-laws...not a good practice at all. honestly, i've got several Kel Tecs and i love them all. my P3AT is irreplaceable IMHO... even when i'm carrying a larger firearm, the P3AT is in my pocket...
  9. i have a Verizon Treo 700wx and i send pictures/sounds/video all the time. while it wont technically send them via a text message, it will send them via a MMS (multimedia message). on my "Messaging" screen, use your d-pad and push left or right like you were switching to your email account, and you should see a MMS page...thats where you send it. i think it limits you to 350kb file size though...kinda a bummer for video but works for most audio and pictures...
  10. yeah at these prices one would be better off to just get a Bullpup AK from Skip's since he has a great deal on them right now... *thinking very hard about a visit down south...
  11. wow that is pricey!!! not sure its that cool...

    Bullpup SKS

Hey guys, i saw a clip on You Tube of a guy shooting a Bullpup SKS. anyone know where/if these stocks are available? anyone out there got one? thanks!
  13. i havent hunted with my Bushmaster, but i plan on using it on some 'yotes this fall and winter. its been to hot lately for me to get excited about calling them in...
  14. Joe, let me know when and what time and i'll be there! i've been looking for an excuse to get down to your shop anyways, i hear great things but never made the trip.
  15. does any of the vendors out there ever have any classes on AR building? i have zero AR experience, i just got my first one a few weeks ago and i love it. i'd like to build another one but havent a clue where to start...any classes out there?
  16. thats an awesome looking shotty...first one i've ever saw like it. do you own that one? i'd love to see one of those in person...
  17. that is simply beautiful! i've gotten an itch for an AR10 lately...
  18. i've heard the folding scope mounts arent that hot. from the people i've talked to you either have to give up the folding to get optics, or get something with QD rings and a smallish weaver/picatinny rail on top...
  19. i like the looks of the Pmags...where is the best place to get them?
  20. Hey guys, i just picked up my first AR-15 last week. ok, technically my second but i sold the first one quickly because i didnt like the config and that was several years ago anyways... anyways...i'm looking to pick up some extra magazines for it. since i'm an AR newbie, where and what type is the best to get? my gun is a Bushmaster XM15 if it matters. i'd also like to be able to use these new mags in a Kel Tec PLR-16 as i see one of those in my short future... thanks!
  21. ok thanks...
  22. where is Carters? i've never heard of them...
  23. anyone know a store in TN that has them in stock? i've never held one, but thinking more and more like this is the way to go. i'd like to hold one first...
  24. to each his own i guess...i think it is sexy as hell!
  25. i'm probably going to be out there by myself on this one...but i'd go with the Glock. compliment it with a Keltec P3AT or a Ruger LCP for pocket carry when the bigger gun isnt such a great option. i love mine (Glock & P3AT), although i do find myself carrying a S&W J frame from time to time also...
