  1. I think most of us have had one or two of those "moments/experiences" I know I have thinking later after the trade OMG what have I done!?? It's happened to me once this year already! :-) Glad you were able to work it out!!!!
  2. Good report. I too was disappointed in my Bodyguard hence the price drop due to slowing sales. After trying several 380's I settled on a Sig P238. It hasn't disappointed me yet. I once owned a PF9, great gun for the price but it stung my hand to shoot it. I moved onto a Ruger SR9c and then a Kahr PM9 and I'm pretty happy now. I've got both Glocks on the ready guarding each floor of my home and a really nice 3 inch 1911 Kimber Ultra Carry as my main EDC. I learned to love the 1911 and its unique features. I'd love to try them all but a little $hort on ca$h for that!
  3. Is this really necessary? I've had some real lemons in my day but bashing manufacturers and models seems a bit lame. I had a couple of "bad guns" but others I would know who had the same exact model would have no issues at all. There are allot of variables that can make a weapon unreliable from damaged, ill fitting components to the ammo itself. Yes there are some brands who put out less quality product than others but usually the pricing reflects that.
  4. I guess quality control ain't what it used to be - I had just the opposite experience. I bought a S&W 380 Body Guard, worse gun I ever owned and I even sent it back to S&W 1st for repairs and it STILL came back unreliable. I bought a TCP and never once had an issue with mine . . . . . and so it goes.
  5. SR9c was a better choice for me

    Ruger LC9

I looked carefully at them and I know they're the newest/latest model but personally I think the Ruger SR9c is a much better value. Good luck with your decision!
  7. That baby is NASCAR approved!

    Sig P238

Got one (had two) I carry either it or my Kimber 45 EDC. Love the P238, never had a single problem with it.

    almost had a kB!!!

Ditto + 1. Actually I had the bad experience with a Colt New Agent. I got rid of it after 6 days of problems! Now I have a Kimber and am truly happy!
  10. I roll the window down, turn on the dome light, inform him I have a permit and gun on my person and start crying right away. They look at my beard face and always let me go no matter how fast I'm going. "Brutus'

    Kahr Pm9

JTDC- That's exactly what I did, I purchased the PM9 and 250 rounds and headed straight for the range. I had not then or since a single FTF/FTE with this little power house. I did purchase another 6 round magazine and shelved the extended one that cam with the gun. So far about 600 rounds thru it. It stings abit if you shoot it allot but I wear fingerless gloves.
  12. I had my custom made OWB holster (and matching belt) done by: www.kesterfarmstack.com Only took 2 weeks! Sorry but I wasn't about to wait on Milt Sparks for 7 months! Plus the quality from Kester is second to none.

    Kahr CM9

I have the Kahr PM9 and it was hard to swallow the price but . . . it does shoot nice and mine has never burped yet. Same with my Sig P238 which I alternate with my Kimber Ultra 45 as EDC's. Perhaps when/if the gun craze cools a bit the manufacturers will have to lower their MSRP's more but right now its their market.

    RUGER LC9

I saw it for sale at the Gallatin Gun Show Sunday. Nice concealment size but I prefer the SR9c as a better choice for me.
  15. Clips or Magazines? . . . . . . . . . . . . . YAWN

    Ruger SR9c?

I am left handed so the ambidextrous safety and mag release were big features for me when I bought mine last April. It eats all ammo w/o FTF's and has been extremely dependable. I have a Galco OWB holster and the Galco day planner that holds it and both mags nicely when you want to carry but can't look suspicious (like work!). The trigger is fantastic and accuracy is quite good. For me there are two negatives with this model: Lack of accessories (holster choices & night sights) But the biggie and more serious issue about this weapon is the razor sharp slide serrations. I've bled more than once because of this. And because of that - I sold it last month.
  17. The only thing not to lke on my SR9c is the serations on the slide. they will hurt you they're cut so sharp!
  18. One of many reasons to leave California BUT . . . . This ain't Tallahasee

    Sig 238

Three gun stores I know of that have Sig P238's currently are: D & T Arms, Lebanon Gun Store The Gun Room (Lebanon)

    Sig 238

The theory is fairly simple: Move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to go. For example, if you're shooting low, raise the rear sight. If you're shooting left, move the rear sight to the right. I have one too, I love it and EDC it when wearing summer clothing.
  21. I have two: Crimson Carry and a Ultra Carry ll. I've never has a single issue with either (except the price!).
  22. Kesava- Thanks for that report. After TGO David raved about his I went out and got one. I shelved the extended mag and bought another short mag. It's a keeper even for a DAO!

    S&W Bodyguard .380

I had one for about five weeks. I had to send it back to S&W - the laser was dim and hard to activate. It came back from them and the laser was STILL dim and hard to activate. I gave the gun away.
  24. I have both PM9 and SigP238. The Sig is easy to conceal and you can carry cocked and locked. The Double action trigger of the Kahr is one of the best and it packs more wallop in caliber size. Both are expensive, both are good quality. Good luck with your choice!

    COLT WOES

I love this forum! Thanks guys! I got a call back from The gunsmith in Lebanon. He fixed it, says a stray piece of metal most likely from the milling process probably broke loose during recoil and jammed the mechanism. Just another great reason to really break in your EDC before betting your life on a new gun right?
