  1. I sit down to put mine on...no sense trying to be a show off, she already knows I'm old
  2. I haven't been as excited to go see something on the big screen as I am to see this movie in a long, long time.
  3. A Nashville Republican is about as real as a vegan T-bone.
  4. It's getting harder and harder the throw my leg over my Super Tenere, so on days I can't I ride a Vespa. I pray God takes me home before I'm too old to ride motorcycles.
  5. I've never been a fan of that stock...good upgrade!
  6. I couldn't agree more about the grandkids. In fact, my 2 grandsons are the only things that made raising their mother worth it, LOL.
  7. My dad used to have one of those. Good memories...I'll take it. PM sent
  8. I wish you weren't 5 or 6 hours away. GLWS
  9. Considering the merchandise inside, I can't believe insurance companies don't demand a more reasonable level of security. I don't think they should all be required to have a safe room, but there's gotta be something in between. I am not ashamed to disagree about shooting thieves though. Anyone brazen enough to drive a car through the store front and steal guns deserves it.
  10. Two mom & pop gun stores were broken into recently. Looks like both happened in the early AM hours on two recent Saturday mornings. In both robberies the thieves drove stolen cars through the front of the store and cleaned out most of the guns/ammo. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same crew. The owners of The Southern Bunker go to my church and they've only been open a little over a year. In fact, he was just getting his inventory built up and now they have no income until they get the repairs done and restock their shelves. It really sucks to see these scumbags make off with enough weapons/ammo to use in other crimes. The Southern Buner break in Bullseye Gun and Range break in
  11. Nice bait-and-switch there at the end. If I had CZ Scorpion 3+ money, that'd definitely be my choice, but I've been wanting to try that Taurus too because of all the praise it gets. Sounds to me like your question should be which one do I buy first, LOL.
  12. I hope these thieves are caught and perforated prosecuted soon.
  13. Looking great!! I was wondering how chrome pipes could be blacked out. I didn't know covers like that existed. I usually see black exhaust tape used. What holds those covers on?
  14. Best I recollect, the last time I stuck my finger into the coin return of a payphone and got a coin, it was a dime, LOL. Dang, I feel old.
  15. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics only 1.7% of workers make minimum wage. The harm of raising minimum wage isn't just in forcing companies to pay more for labor than it's worth for under 2% of the workforce. The harm is that most union labor contracts contain automatic pay increases when minimum wage increase and the industries that rely on unskilled minimum wage labor see drastic hits on their labor costs, forcing huge price increases that consumers won't pay (resulting in fewer jobs for unskilled workers).
  16. You and I see eye-to-eye on this one. A really good friend constantly whines about having to Door Dash or deliver for Amazon to make ends meet because he can't live on his teaching salary. He gets furious when I remind him we discussed how bad the pay will be before his first education class at MTSU. I get it, he thinks it's his calling, but I don't think it's fair to whine about an outcome you were guaranteed would happen when you signed up. He could do so much better as smart as he is.
  17. I agree completely. I feel like too many of the people complaining today think if their multiple streaming services, $1200 cell phone with unlimited data, car notes, Door Dash or eating out, cigarettes, and beer are necessities and/or entitlements.
  18. I don't agree that the 2 sets are equally easy to replace. It's way easier to replace a welder, janitor, line cook or bus driver than it is to replace a mid-to-upper level manager/director, let alone a CEO. To me that holds more weight than whether or not a CEO can run a lathe or install a water heater. True on so many levels. The CEO is like a general, he could have 50K soldiers depending on him for their lives. If he screws up the all die. Sad but true...if he loses one foot soldier or even a tank commander, the war goes on.
  19. Wow, I thought my wife and I were the oddballs on vacations. She takes a couple of weeks off every September to go somewhere with her mom that I don't like. I take a few days here and there to get a long camping weekend with our grandson. Every few years we take a trip somewhere together with our grandson, but it's usually the Smokies or a long weekend in Chattanooga for the aquarium. She likes to travel, I prefer what TN has to offer. That's how we like it too.
  20. You are 100% right about FDR. I don't care what he had to say, minimum wage is not a living wage. It's the wage at which zero skill workers and zero skill jobs meet. God knows the trash needs taking out and floors need sweeping at McDonalds. However, anyone who thinks they should be able to afford a car note, groceries, cell phone bills, and rent when that's all you bring to the table is destined to learn hard life lessons.
  21. I like the way you think! I forgot about vienna sausages...they're going on my next grocery list.
  22. I bookmarked the "unread" link and use that almost exclusively, unless I'm searching for something specific. I wish I could browse "unread w/out classifieds", but I doubt that's possible (let me know if I'm wrong). Does anyone else do something different? Just curious
  23. I've found the older I get, the simpler my taste gets. I never outgrew PB&J, but recently I find myself wanting the simplicity of pot pies, frozen salisbury steak, and ramen noodles.
  24. I thought the same thing first time a saw a quad-rail and a red dot on a lever action rifle. This project, on the other hand, reminds me of the immortal words of Oscar Goldman: "We can rebuild him it. We have the technology. We can make him it better than he it was. Better, stronger, faster."
