1. Until looters, rioters, and their ilk are shot on sight, they become more emboldened.
2. I make a conscious effort to try, but wind up reflexively closing my left eye anyway. I'm sure that means I'm totally screwed if I'm ever in a gun battle and need more peripheral vision.
3. OCTX harms the public view of the Pro-2A movement as much as The Westboro Baptist Church harms the public view of Chrisianity.
4.
I like my G27 for IWB but I can't carry it in my pocket.
It don't work in skinny jeans :D Just kidding...couldn't resist
5. The old rifle looks pretty darn cool too
6. Congrats on the new rifle. I'm sure you'll love your M&P Sport as much as I love mine. I've made a few cosmetic changes to mine to make it fit me better, but I'm not a good enough shot to need anything this gun doesn't do.
7. You won't even notice the grip safety is there if you properly grip the guns, so that makes the manual of arms almost identical except for the ambi safety on the SA. You WILL notice the difference in the sights, though. Springfield has swept back rear sights that maximize the sight radius and an awesome FIBER OPTIC front sight! I find that the width of the G36 makes it seem huge in comparison, so it may be too thick to pocket carry. The front to back size of the G36 grip is much bigger too. If you have big hands you might find the XD-s too cramped. If you have small hands you might find it hard to get a good hold on that G36 when it goes boom.
8. I used to pocket carry a Ruger SP101 all the time and it's wider, taller and longer than a G26. I guess the pockets are bigger on pants for bigger guys. I don't wear baggy pants, but they aren't blow your shoes off when you fart pants either.
9. Kudos, another win for the good guys!
10. I took a short break from college (1989 til 2001). Going back was the best decision I ever made. I didn't finish my Chemical Engineering degree, though. I chose Computer Information Systems instead, another good decision.
11.
It's ok...it's just Sam Adams...
Hey, what's wrong with Sam Adams? :O
12.
Wait.... When did ar15.com and m4carbine.net merge?
I'm guessing all the sites that cater to AR-15 owners are full of gun snobs, huh? I wonder if the 1911 forum members turn their noses up at anything that isn't a Nighthawk or a Wilson Combat.
13.   Maybe he bought the holster at Walmart :D last week?
14.   Ain't that the truth...the first 10 replies would be 'you're an idiot if you buy an AR that costs under $3K'
15. I'm building an AR now, but very slowly. The problem I'm having is figuring out what I want it to do that my M&P Sport can't do in MY hands.   A better handguard design (thinner and lighter), a better stock (I prefer fixed over carbine), or a better trigger (something like a Geissele would be cool) would make it more fun to shoot. I can upgrade my existing gun with these features and still be under $1000.   Owning a $4000 LWRC or even a $2000 Colt just doesn't do anything for me. It won't transform me into 2X or 4X as good of a shooter or be 2X or 4X as fun to shoot.
16. I trust my handloads, but prefer to carry factory SD ammo. I don't shoot enough SD ammo to notice the savings or warrant the perceived risk.   Even if nobody has ever been prosecuted for using handloads, I feel better knowing thers's one less thing to defend if, God forbid, I ever find myself in court. I can always use one less thing to worry about.
17. Never heard of it until your post. Looks like it's not even made to match the gun, but looks aren't the important thing. I'd rather not give up the conceal-ability that the extra height adds, but if I had big hands, that might be a different story. Considering they say they've sold thousands, I'm surprised there's only 3 reviews.
18. Even our wisest, most intelligent leaders aren't qualified to judge the intended use of any product in the economy. I don't like giving our flawed gov't the power to limit any purchases, they just abuse the power and use it to get more power over us. They want to rule an unarmed society, so they can do whatever they want without fear of what our founding fathers did when they were fed up with oppression.
19. that is just too cool for words
20. The idea that just anyone can't have an M-16, grenades, bazookas, tanks, etc. pisses me off enough. Add to that they want to keep me from having body armor, if I can afford it and choose to buy it, makes me furious. Why we let the actions of the minority criminal element dictate what law abiding citizens can/can't do is crazy IMO. If it's good enough for the military and law enforcement, it should be good enough for me too.
21. My dad taught me to use a rifle sling to steady my shot deer hunting growing up. It works, but now I only shoot rifles at the range and they make you shoot from the bench. I'd use a sling more, if I had a place to shoot where I could use multiple shooting positions.
22. Seems weird to me to realize that FB is only 10 yrs old. Seems like it's been around forever. I personally hate it, although I keep an account active, since it's the only way I have to contact certain people (including family). They didn't turn a profit until 2009 and it wasn't much to brag about. It wasn't until the past 2 years when they really started mining their users' data and focusing on the mobile market that they started making obscene profits. It doesn't take a crystal ball to predict that the more invasive they get the more money they'll make. With over a billion users and just over 550M using their mobile device to do so, imagine how much money they'll make when they start adding GPS data to their already staggering amount of info they have about their users. You "Like" McDonald's on FB and suddenly when passing one, you get a message that one of your FB friends wants to meet you at the McD's you're coming up on...imagine what McDonald's would pay in advertising for that service.
23. If only they would ask people if they're crazy before selling them a gun, we'd all be safe from crazies with guns, right? I don't get the homicide ruling either. Just another desperate attempt not to let a good tragedy go to waste.
24.
Yes:D http://www.guns.com/2013/05/16/the-inteliscope-tactical-iphone-rifle-mount-system/
If that works and holds a zero, it'd be a lot of fun to play with.
25. I bought 300 rounds of 30 gr Hornady V-Max a few weeks ago from the classifieds for $15/box because I was having such a hard time finding any anywhere.
